Another Gay Movie (2006)- anyone else enjoy this movie?

First off, I have to say that I can’t believe it’s already been 16 fucking years since this movie came out. Time flies!!! I was 20 when it came out and in college. I rented it on iTunes when it came out there and found it to be pretty funny and witty. I found 3 of the 4 main cast members super cute too. I had such a crush on Jarod (played by Jonathan Chase) but after watching it again tonight for the first time since 2006, Griff is my favorite. He’s just so cute!

I hated Nico and found him repulsive. Watching now, he reminds me of Frankie Grande.

I loathed the sequel, but still bought it along with the first one on iTunes for nostalgia sake. None of the original cast came back for the sequel minus hideous and repulsive Nico. The new Griff was fug, the new Andy lame, and while Jimmy Clabots is a hot Jarod, he lacked the charm Jonathan Chase had.

Sad.

Anyone else like the movie?

Ugh the atrocious sequel, where repulsive Nico now was the lead because he’s the only original actor to return.

The gerbil scene lmao

Bery few poofs will do gay sequels out of fear of being typecasted... but now we live in a progressive era where only gay actors should play gay characters and be told they're self hating for even considering to play an unconvincingly str8 role. Though only those that identify as non-gay will get the accolades and awards of a stuning and brave gay performance.

r2 post the uncensored shower scene with commentary for the dl.

by Anonymousreply 3June 26, 2022 3:07 AM

Griff and Jarod were so cute. There are a lot of those fan made clips of them on YouTube lol. I loved when Griff finally told Jarod how he felt and Jarod dropped that lame Beau.

R3 Jonathan Chase is hetero in real life and was willing to do the sequel but his management wouldn’t allow it because they said playing gay once is ok, playing gay twice is a career killer.

by Anonymousreply 5June 26, 2022 3:09 AM

They released the Directors Cut last year for the 15th Anniversary in HD.

He also re-released the sequel in HD.

The first is on Apple for $5 right now on sale.

And of course the atrocious sequel trailer.

Mitch Morris (who played Griff) was openly gay in real life and very intelligent. He left acting behind after he went back to school and got another degree, this time in Law. He was a lawyer in LA for a while before going back to school again, and earning his third Degree in Creative Writing. He then moved to NYC and started a career in writing as well as a Professor.

I thought the lead, Michael Carbonaro, was sexy as fuck too.

Hate the sequel because of Perez Hilton. Recasting most of the main cast was a mistake, too. I liked the general idea of a gay summer, beach resort movie, but hated the execution. Did like Jonah Blechman as Nico, though.

by Anonymousreply 10June 26, 2022 7:19 AM

This movie is extremely off-putting to wine cooler, turned crack whore lesbians. They find it incredibly offensive and vulgar. I love it.

by Anonymousreply 11June 26, 2022 7:23 AM

The first one is fun. Trashy fun.

by Anonymousreply 12June 26, 2022 7:26 AM

Fucking Ed.win The Seacow is relentless with threads today. over 100 today. You are claiming to be 36 now??

by Anonymousreply 13June 26, 2022 7:30 AM

Anyways.

R10 they had no choice but to recast. None of the originals were coming back

by Anonymousreply 14June 26, 2022 11:09 AM

Latin guy in the sequel was hot.

by Anonymousreply 15June 26, 2022 1:04 PM

These movies are very 2000s. We need a modern day remake

by Anonymousreply 16June 26, 2022 1:09 PM

They are gay men's movies, you wouldn't be able to remake them without outrage.

by Anonymousreply 17June 26, 2022 2:59 PM

If it were made today it wouldn’t be 4 white teens, it would have to be diverse, plus there would need to be a trans

by Anonymousreply 18June 26, 2022 3:13 PM

I love it because it is very 2000s. It takes you back to a certain time. I don’t know why everything needs to be “updated”. Most of todays shit sucks.

by Anonymousreply 19June 26, 2022 3:14 PM

I enjoyed it for what it was -- silly fun.

WHET to Muffler?

by Anonymousreply 20June 26, 2022 3:15 PM

The actress who played Muffler recently played Clinton-bashing "victim" Juanita Broaddrick in Ryan Murphy's Impeachment drama. She's still getting work.

Also, three of these four boys turned out to be totally queer.

by Anonymousreply 21October 19, 2022 2:49 PM

R21 well did anyone question Nikko being gay? I mean, really

by Anonymousreply 22October 19, 2022 3:30 PM

They did a reunion on Zoom to promote the 15th anniversary edition. It’s an entertaining watch. They all seem to enjoy one another and share a lot of funny memories.

Mitch Morris also played Cody, the leader of the Pink Posse vigilante gang, on QAF.

R23 thank you!! Idk how I missed that live

by Anonymousreply 25October 19, 2022 7:07 PM

Yeah the sequel was atrocious. They could have picked better actors r14 and not completely ruin what they had set up in the first movie.

by Anonymousreply 26October 19, 2022 7:19 PM

This movie is an embarrassment and every copy should be burned.

by Anonymousreply 27October 19, 2022 7:21 PM

R27 I like it.

by Anonymousreply 28January 10, 2023 8:13 PM

Michael Carbonaro looks like he has a huge dick.

by Anonymousreply 29March 9, 2023 3:24 AM

Will someone just post any scenes that show ass or that are fapable?

by Anonymousreply 30March 9, 2023 3:33 AM

Right?

by Anonymousreply 31March 9, 2023 3:37 AM

LOL that this actually made a sequal successfully (even a terrible one).

That "Girls will be Girls" sequel will never, ever see the light of day.

by Anonymousreply 32March 9, 2023 3:41 AM

loves it

I need to see if I can find this (maybe on Tubi)? Never seen it before but that 2000s look is very nostalgic. About 6 months ago I ended up watching all five Eating Out movies - they are so dumb and ridiculous but I actually enjoyed the experience too. Would be fun to find something similar.

by Anonymousreply 35March 10, 2023 12:05 AM

R35 I watched all the Eating Out movies about a decade ago. I loved 1-3. I actually found them fun. Part 2 is the best.

4 and 5 are terrible but entertaining.

Another Gay Movie is on Tubi

R35 and if you want to watch the sequel it’s on the Prime Video Channel Dekkoo. I think that’s a subscription page but they give you 7 day free trial.

by Anonymousreply 37March 10, 2023 12:25 AM

The first one is actually charming and fun, about 4 gay teens who want to lose their virginity.

The sequel is terrible but worth the watch just because.

by Anonymousreply 38March 10, 2023 12:31 AM

Cheers R36/R37!

I also agree with your feelings on the Eating Out movies. I did wish I’d watched them with someone rather than alone, they seem made for that.

by Anonymousreply 39March 10, 2023 1:02 AM

And in typical Australian fashion, it's not available on OUR version of Tubi. Damn.

There is a YouTube channel (We Are Pride) that posts a lot of these movies (it's where I found Eating Out 3, 4 and 5 after finding the first two on Tubi) but it doesn't have AGM either.

by Anonymousreply 40March 10, 2023 7:42 PM

The cover of the first Eating Out movie weirded me out with the female lead presenting her naked feet, like, WTF? For a gay themed movie?

I liked the sequel better, with the gratifying story of the self hating gay conservative group members embracing their gayness at the end.

by Anonymousreply 41March 10, 2023 8:18 PM

I loved that messy fag hag character in those Eating Out movies. In the last two she only turns up for one scene each time that seems divorced from the main storyline, but she had me laughing each time. Wasn't she digging a grave at one point? Haha.

[quote]I liked the sequel better, with the gratifying story of the self hating gay conservative group members embracing their gayness at the end.

Oh yes, I remember - didn't the leader of the group end up getting fucked in some porta-loo or something and everyone heard?

by Anonymousreply 42March 10, 2023 8:21 PM

There is not enough silly funny gay comedies. Too many gay movies are depressing with sad ending. I understand their point but still, we need more funny gay movies. This one is silly even stupid but entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 43March 10, 2023 8:24 PM

Yeah, she was fun.

I know his movies aren't very popular around here, but I love the light comedy movies of Casper Andreas like Slutty Summer, Four Letter Word, Big Gay Musical, or Violet Tendencies (though that one has Mindy Cohn as lead struggling to find a straight guy to love when being a total fag hag, but it's still a great gay campy movie).

by Anonymousreply 45March 10, 2023 8:35 PM

Whatever happened to Jonah Blechman?

by Anonymousreply 46March 10, 2023 8:40 PM

The DVD extras include deleted scenes of Michael Carbonaro improving lines as his character is getting DPed. It’s all for laughs but I got an instant boner watching it 😊.

by Anonymousreply 47March 10, 2023 9:16 PM

Haha, I'll have to check that out R47. It is great when you're laughing and turned on at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 48March 10, 2023 9:20 PM

R46 who cares? He was the worst part of the first and then them making him the lead of the second because he was the only original cast member returning was a mistake.

by Anonymousreply 49March 10, 2023 9:22 PM

Agreed.

During that Zoom reunion, Michael Carbonaro has to backtrack on comments he originally made during filming - something along the lines of Jonah being too out there and needing to take it down a notch. Michael says he doesn’t remember saying that…but he was right.

by Anonymousreply 50March 12, 2023 1:26 PM

I thought Jonah was perfect as the comic relief femme gay. I also didn't mind him being the lead of the sequel. The biggest mistake for me was Perez Hilton in that sequel. Hate, hate, hate that guy.

by Anonymousreply 51March 12, 2023 4:06 PM

God, remember when Perez Hilton was a big thing? That seems so weird now. I mean what he was doing was just a precursor to the insane celebrity culture we have now, but the fact that his site was just him drawing penises and cum all over celebrities' faces in the beginning. It was really incredibly juvenile.

by Anonymousreply 52March 13, 2023 7:39 PM

I may need to rewatch this one.

by Anonymousreply 53October 4, 2025 5:03 AM

I just LOVE films full of gay stereotypes. Typically American.

If you want to watch gay films (not LGBTQ+ or "queer") choose something non-American. There are plenty out there.

R54 is a moron.
