The 80s are probably as close to who she is as an "artist" but after that she became whoever she was working with which is why her albums all sounded so different. A Gaga album sounds like Gaga, an ABBA album sounds like ABBA, but a Madonna album sounds like the producers she worked with. She's the equivalent of Pat Boone when he recorded a heavy metal album - horrible!
