She also included the Mass card from his funeral. A 100yr plus Persian rug from my grandmother. A thank you note from Kate Hepburn.

A coin collection of American and English/UK coins, plus some from elsewhere. I have a few ancient Egyptian, Roman and Greek pieces that have been authenticated. But I don't have anyone to give it to and selling (eventually) would have to be done piece by piece, which gets tedious.
It was worth about $30,000 the last time I had it appraised for insurance.

As an artist, my most valuable possessions are my imagination, and ability to think of interesting, creative solutions to whatever problems or puzzles I'm facing on any given project.
I've spent more time in my imagination, than anywhere else. It started due to an unsatisfactory childhood (quite frequently, I escaped there as a child), and became an asset.

My Sligh Bob Timberlake Mission style grandfather clock. I bought it about 20 years ago. A really beautiful 'floor' clock that announces it presence throughout the day although it does have a night feature that silences the chimes from 9:45p until 7:00a. I consider it a statement piece and it's restrained style get lots of complements to those who visit.

A collection of letters written in the trenches in France during the First World War. The man writing them sadly didn't survive. They're full of scenes that he saw and his feelings stuck in the trenches. He complains that the 'Hun' don't fight fair and that he's craving sugar so can someone send him a cake? He also says that there are a lot of rumours of 'men who have gone insane' wandering round in the woods and killing anyone they come across. One stand out is him seeing a friend cut in half and just having time to say 'I think I may have to sit down' before dropping dead to the floor. Very moving and tragic letters. Sent to my husbands grandmother.

I have a collection of letters from a Hilter Youth turned Nazi officer who served in the Afrika Korps during WWII, was sent to a POW camp in the Texas Panhandle, and repatriated back to Bavaria. He constantly wrote to my Great Grandmother referring to her as "My dear sister" but she never mentioned having a brother, and his surname is not the same, as her maiden name. The letters span from 1930 to 1956 the year he died. The go from entirely in German then gradually switch to fluent English. I keep telling myself I should donate them, but I don't even know who would want such a collection.
The era when he was in the POW camp are funny, because all he did was bitch about having to be in Texas. He said in one letter, that he would rather be dead in Africa than have to endure another day in Texas. I currently live in Dallas, and I find those the most relatable.

My clothes. I really do dig fashion and I have a collection of really cool clothes that I love.. I probably should have put into a downpayment on a home. But I chose shirts and hoodies. Many of them are still with tags and new and I can sell on Grailed when/should times get tough.

I know I will get shit for it, but it has all my personal info (budget spreadsheets, e-mails, personal info, favorite porn downloads, tax returns in PDF formats, etc.). In a pinch I would grab the backup drive which is just as good as far as data goes, but I’d try to save the computer.

Some are costly: made of cashmere, crocodile, stingray, or ermine. Others are of simple design that use humble materials like burlap and nylon. But all are special to me. All. And they are never empty.

A silver maple tree I planted out back of the house I've rented for14 years. It was just a twig growing over in the weeds. I dreamed of having shade in the sunny yard, so I transplanted it to the middle of the yard 12 years ago.
It's now over 20 ft. tall and very leafy. It makes dark shade several times a day.

I collect old letters, postcards, pictures, grave etchings.. really anything with written information and then try to verify and trace their past history and future lines. I have several albums worth. Some related to people, businesses or just the towns themselves. So much of our history is lost and by the timem the public takes interest, it often becomes fictionalized. Like the stories of many minorities in America, or even among those that would become part of the majority, just absent in the many cities they began and the great westward expansion.
I have one too many woks.
And, an obvious fetish for dravidian stone and woodwork.
