I knew that 5 of the songs in the article were covers. I guess I was most surprised to see "The Tide Is High" by Blondie, "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, and "China Girl" by David Bowie are covers. Covers have been around since forever. A good song is a good song. When it's being performed by an artist who can add their unmistakable style, it can go to a whole other level.
