Getting cozy with him would be very pleasant. And he's going to need someone to get cozy with because that thing has NO insulation - in Wyoming. Which can get cold. I believe it is colder than Florida.
R5 His much bigger taller friend could lie down in it with room to spare its in the video

R24 I think vocal fry is one of the 'gay' things?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 22, 2022 10:28 AM |
R21, I agree. The tall, lanky friend looks like he has a big cock.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 22, 2022 10:40 AM |
He seems insufferable. He really needs to lay off the caffeine. I wonder if someone quite so out there could actually survive in a tiny house. Tiny houses seem perfect for introverts, not extroverts.
I do wonder what the tiny house laws are in Wyoming. Certainly here on the east coast he has essential built an impractical trailer home. In my state he could not even park it on his own land for an extended period of time since it is on wheels.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 22, 2022 10:51 AM |
The skankyish friend is hotter. I agree with the above - why paint everything black? For winter solar advantages? Also is there a video of the inside finishes? He could add insulation between the studs and joists.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 22, 2022 10:54 AM |
Impressive results for an amateur. The black roof seems like a bad idea, even though it looks cool, but perhaps it's beneficial for living in Wyoming climate?

by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 22, 2022 12:17 PM |
What the tiny house enthusiasts never mention is the storage units they have to rent to keep their stuff in. All your clothing isn’t going to fit in there no matter how little you wear. Plus trips to the laundromat. Unless you’re a full time nudist there’s not enough room for your shit.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 22, 2022 12:18 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 22, 2022 12:46 PM |
This is my favorite. When I broke my leg, it was my sanity. If you stick with it, you can see his cute boyfriend.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 22, 2022 1:22 PM |
In summer, since the roof area is so small, he could easily buy a white tarp and strap it to his tiny house's roof.
But I bet the black roof will be ideal for winter on the High Plains.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 22, 2022 1:32 PM |
R26, here’s the thing. It’s on wheels. He can drag it out of the path of a tornado which then goes on to destroy a lot of regular houses.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | June 22, 2022 1:35 PM |
R43, I subscribed to that one. A phenomenal amount of work he had to do. Building a tiny house would’ve been so much easier.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 22, 2022 1:37 PM |
R46, yes, but we would not have been entertained for nearly so long.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 22, 2022 1:40 PM |
R42 I love those little queens. They have cute dogs and a kitteh, and they actually do a lot of lumberjacking for two spray-tanned bottoms.
But they add a lot of obnoxious trance music over their videos, and they often set up a video update with a tear-filled "setback" that turns out to be totally fucking pointless. They'll be sobbing quietly into the camera at the start about the "big news," then show themselves flexing and hammering stuff, then circle back and say the setback was a two-day delay in picking up their new furry couch pillows from Claire's.

I'm fascinated by these tiny homes and think I'd enjoy living in one. But I'm a single person; I can't imagine these families with kids and infants and pets cramming themselves into such a small space. Even if you lived like the most spartan Spartan, there's just not enough storage for the basics needed by that many people.
My ideal tiny home would have an actual bedroom (no loft sleeping, I'm too old for that shit), actual plumbing (no composting toilets), room for a full size washer/dryer, and some sort of porch/patio seating. They make really cute prefab ones for $50-70 thousand. This place has hundreds of models to offer. This one's not my favorite, but I picked it because the salesman, Mr. Tiny, gives us biceps and ass as he tours the place.

I like this concept. I don't know that I could do it - no way I could crawl on a ladder to get into bed due to my old fat ass being unable to do so - but it would be a great option.
I've very pro tiny homes, ADUs, etc - we need more housing and more affordable housing.

I suddenly found myself wanting to have sex with him. And he is SO not my type. Until the white trash friend arrived. Now HE'S my type. So maybe a three-way? Should I be ashamed?
And then I went down the rabbit hole with his videos.

Affordable housing = apartments. They maximize the number of homes and occupants on the land, they make most efficient use of roads, water, sewer, and electric, thus keeping the costs per household much lower than any single-family housing, including tiny homes. Tiny homes are a joke, not meant for actual living.
If you're really into affordable single-family housing, then trailer parks with mobile and/or manufactured homes. They take up more space than apartments, but still have a much smaller per-household footprint on the land and with regards to running roads, water, sewer, and electric to each household. Of course, trailer parks and mobile homes have been around forever, so they aren't cool enough for the hipsters to embrace.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 22, 2022 11:09 PM |

[quote]Tiny homes are a joke, not meant for actual living.
However they do have a place as infill housing - placed on sections behind or beside conventional houses. For people who have access to a small piece of land like this they can be useful. But to house people on a large scale, apartments are the best way to do it

I give him credit for doing this all by himself (at least the parts in the clip), especially early on with all the beams. I am always in awe of what people are capable on a creative and a "let's do this!" level. I make a Homer Simpson's groan when the remote is out of reach and I spend over five minutes struggling whether I should stand up from the couch and grab it, or give telekinesis one more try.
Personally, as an introvert, a house has to provide more space than a tiny house or a trailer can offer. And I am not the kind of guy who likes the outdoor, taking long walks and gaze into the landscape.
But, again, I think the guy in OP's link shows mad skills. And thank you for the other posters providing other great youtube clips about gay guys doing the home building and / or remodeling. It warms my little gay heart that there are gay men out there who actually do stuff.

I don't believe his claims that he knew nothing about building and construction. There's no way someone with no prior knowledge would have been able to build that thing. I bet his family is in the construction business in some capacity - there's a lot of wealthy Midwesterners who've made money as contractors etc...they're not well educated generally but they can make a lot through the building and construction trades. I'll bet this kid's father owns a company or something.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | June 23, 2022 1:04 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 95 | June 23, 2022 1:17 PM |
R94, his father owns a radio station and a pager service. He did get his degree as an electrical engineer, but he has nothing to do with construction. Now, that doesn't mean David never had a summer job in construction, but it doesn't come from the family.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | June 23, 2022 1:22 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 117 | June 24, 2022 5:32 AM |
Apartments = at the mercy of predatory landlords/corporations.
Trailer parks = ordinary house trailers are very poorly constructed. There are a few tiny home parks—there’s one in Texas that is featured a lot, has a communal garden. There’s one in Ontario I think. It’s a zoning issue. I’d happily live with a tiny yard, less to maintain, in someone’s back yard in town. It’s a ZONING issue.
Those Tumbleweed tiny homes are extreme, micro homes. You can build a tiny home on a 40’ trailer that has space for a bedroom on the ground floor. You can build a hydraulic (?) bed that raises to the ceiling in the daytime. Murphy beds, Pullman berths…
The article about “regretful owners”, well, don’t get a micro home for two people and then get pregnant. Don’t get a micro home when you don’t have planning permission in writing. Note that he can still bring it to a new location. Don’t build in a remote region prone to fire with no internet and absolutely do NOT build a home in conjunction with a crappy reality tv show.
Since this kid intends to tow his tiny home around, he did do a lot of securing with strapping tape and braces but I wonder if he’d be better off installing shock absorbers/hydraulics on the trailer bed. When you think about it, boats are moving all the time on the water and they aren’t falling apart. I know wave motion is different from a pothole but it’s a start.

Is he a top or bottom?
by Anonymous | reply 119 | June 24, 2022 11:01 AM |
R118, I will add that trailer parks are facing the same problem as apartments. They are being bought up by venture capitalists and the rents are going through the roof.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | June 24, 2022 11:10 AM |
They always justify it as "I'm not following the conventional pattern of getting a job/mortgage!"
Which is nice and all. But if it was so easy to not do those things, surely more people would be doing it.
If he does it for a couple of years, fair enough, but it's not sustainable long term. I'm doing it the other way around - i.e. working hard, saving everything I can, with the aim of retiring as soon as I can afford to and then enjoying myself/travelling. But to each their own.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | June 24, 2022 11:43 AM |
R121, actually more people have been doing it. There have been numerous articles on how young people's spending habits are bad for the economy because they are not buying houses, cars, etc.

The big problem with tiny houses is unless you have family/relatives that will let you park it on their property, it is hard to find places to put these. Many zoning laws do. not allow for these homes to be placed on empty land lots. Some trailer parks won't accept them.

Really good production values in his videos.
But no experience and he did that himself? Ever try to nail up 2x4s? Did you see how he aced that semi-cirlce cut? Everything miraculously went right the first time, no tear-downs and start-overs?

^ Yeah, funny how everything comes out perfect the first time on TV/youtube 🤔

His face is somewhere between Hunter Parrish and Jack McBrayer.

R133 That man is very sexy. And I love his rolling home.

Yes he's naturally masculine and friendly and helpful in his vibe, very self-secure and creative in his way. The daddy in the army truck. He might be a MAGAT though.

Maybe some of you would prefer sharing this guy’s boat. He shows hole — though pixilated — in his video. He’s taking donations to help fund his lifestyle.

[quote]Apartments = at the mercy of predatory landlords/corporations.
Apartments also = at the mercy of predatory bedbugs and roaches and LOUD, messy neighbors. No wonder tiny homes are appealing- they're situated on plots of land without neighbors on every square inch.

If a tiny house has electricity and sewer hook ups, it's not "off the grid."

I wasn't aware that the tiny house in OP's linked clip has those.

Well, there are RV hookups.

Nope, R144. I wouldn't sail across the ocean with him in a small boat. I'd love to have sex with him on land, though.

I used to fawn over Zack Giffin of Tiny House Nation. He looks a bit like Mike Lookinland but he's talented and likely a pot-head. I love pot-heads.
