Or does it just sound English?
I don't think any of the options encompasses my take on it: English of indeterminate sexuality.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 21, 2022 12:55 PM |
I agree with R1. Perhaps potentially gay, but not definitively gay, mainly because the Englishness precludes a conclusive determination.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 21, 2022 1:09 PM |
Need to work on dropping your pitch.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 21, 2022 1:10 PM |
OP, I am highly sensitive to sound, and I can tell a lot about you just from that small clip - but I won't. Thoughtful sensitivity, intelligence, agreeable manner. Yours is a wonderful sounding voice which anyone would be privileged to hear every day. It does not denote that distinctive "Yaas, Queen!" indisputable gay identifier, but it also would not elict some huge surprise to find that it belonged to a gay male. Whatever the case, your voice is sincerely and genuinely your own - I can hear it in your voice!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 21, 2022 1:11 PM |
I had to use the fire extinguisher on my speakers because of all the flames, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 21, 2022 1:13 PM |
GAY!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 21, 2022 1:14 PM |
I can tell by your voice that you are a bottom. What do you think?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 21, 2022 1:17 PM |
Sounded to me, like a well mannered, well spoken Englishman. No blatant sexuality noted. And I lived for 5 years with my English Husbear in West London. Had a pretty wide, diverse circle of people & friends.. Still have many UK friends of both sexes.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 21, 2022 1:17 PM |
OP just sounds like a typical Brit to me.
Not particularly gay, but also not quite Jason Statham or Mark Strong.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 21, 2022 1:17 PM |
Gayer than a picnic basket
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 21, 2022 1:20 PM |
Actually, Op, I kid, you have a very pleasant voice đ
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 21, 2022 1:21 PM |
You do have a moderately gay accent.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 21, 2022 1:24 PM |
Your voice seems to indicate that you're a nice person.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 21, 2022 1:25 PM |
You sound FABULOUS MIss OP!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 21, 2022 1:25 PM |
Youâre the reason we keep running out of things OP. Youâre THIRSTY AF and your black hole sucks the energy and light out of humanity.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 21, 2022 1:26 PM |
R15- Leave him alone. He sounds like a very sweet bottom.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 21, 2022 1:30 PM |
English English + upspeak in the middle = probably gay.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 21, 2022 1:38 PM |
Just a Britosh accent. To Americans, that itself can seem gay.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 21, 2022 2:11 PM |
Aww thanks <3. Quite mxied responses actually. I think I guess it's also taken out of context. You can't see my mannerisms etc. I used to hate how I sounded, though.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 21, 2022 2:17 PM |
What is with the British Invasion on this site?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 21, 2022 2:24 PM |
R20- It's 1964 all over again!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 21, 2022 2:26 PM |
Ungaro Frock level unlocked.
Delightfully so, if I may say.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 21, 2022 2:28 PM |
R22 what does that mean?!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 21, 2022 2:29 PM |
[quote]What is with the British Invasion on this site?
It's a website. On the world wide web. I've been posting here for 15 years.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 21, 2022 2:31 PM |
Here's an Ungaro frock, r23.
Gays will also sometimes describe something (or someone) "gay as a picnic basket" or "gay as Christmas." I find those even harder to comprehend than "gay as an Ungaro frock."
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 21, 2022 2:34 PM |
R25 Oh right. I'm not sure the straps work well on that and on the maxi too. But hey ho. I get the idea! Picnic baskets does indeed sound very English.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 21, 2022 2:35 PM |
OP, you sound gayer at R19. Not a criticism, you have a lovely choice.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 21, 2022 2:36 PM |
R23 - YEARS ago, on another site (IHSG), "gay as an Ungaro frock" was commonly said of certain men who were either clearly gay (if closeted) or desperately desired to be gay by certain hussies.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 21, 2022 2:38 PM |
OP, you sound like a very nice young man when you speak. I used to "butch up" my voice but then decided to speak with my natural voice and not care what people thought. As a result, I remember being more confident and authentic. Felt refreshing as I made the switch.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 21, 2022 2:44 PM |
R29 aww that's really sweet. I wouldn't know how to sound butcher I don't think.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 21, 2022 2:45 PM |
R30 You don't have to try to sound butcher. Just be yourself. That's the signal insatiable bottoms like you use to attract tops.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 21, 2022 2:49 PM |
Gay and insecure, but most British accents sound gay so don't worry about it. You are gay right?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 21, 2022 2:57 PM |
You sound sexy and masculine OP. Also, there is no such thing as "gay" voice as a lot of you homophobic and heteronormative losers keep pedalling! It's called an effeminate or feminine voice, which even straight and bi men can have, FFS! Calling it "gay" voice is rendering "gay" or homosexuality to a defect, which it fucking isn't! It's no different to the scum who call AIDS the "gay man's disease". Stop the homophobic and unintelligent bullshit! Most of you should know better, than to keep perpetuating the homophobic bullshit that was invented by straight people to devalue and denigrate gay men as "lesser".
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 21, 2022 2:59 PM |
^ Effective argument. Sustained.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 21, 2022 3:01 PM |
Your voice sounds very British, gentle with a distinct lilt and with feminine qualities.
This is not a bad thing. It's a lovely voice. You sound comfortable in your own skin.
Please don't work on trying to "butch" up your voice. People who do that wind up with truly weird, stifled, suppressed voices.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 21, 2022 3:04 PM |
You sound exactly (and I mean EXACTLY) like Nicolas Fairford. Is that you, Nicolas?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 21, 2022 3:11 PM |
You sound like a pleasant asexual person.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 21, 2022 3:28 PM |
OPâs message at R19 was so sweet. But I still want to slap him for think American gays sound like Adam Rippon!
Also, I love the way the Brits say âday-tuhâ while we say âdaâ (as in âdadâ) âtuh.â
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 21, 2022 4:17 PM |
[quote] You don't have to try to sound butcher.
Similarly, you donât have to sound like a butcher.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 21, 2022 4:56 PM |
R36 aww no I didn't know who Nicolas was until recently. I don't think I sound that like him to be honest.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 21, 2022 4:57 PM |
I am American and say âday-tuhâ lounge.
OP I like your voice.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 21, 2022 5:21 PM |
R41 thank you <3. I'm going to respond later about the whole bottom thing. I am intrigued how a voice can indicate bottom status. But maybe it's like gay bottom face etc.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 21, 2022 5:24 PM |
R35- Like Liberace in this video that I started a thread about the other day.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 21, 2022 6:04 PM |
R43 are you saying Liberace had a butch voice?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 21, 2022 6:07 PM |
R44- No- he was TRYING to attempt a butch voice and failed and it just wasn't him- the authentic Liberace
by Anonymous | reply 45 | June 21, 2022 6:08 PM |
R45 ah ok. I think Eddie Redmayne is always trying to sound butch.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 21, 2022 6:11 PM |
I like your voice, but you need to lose your "um's". That makes you sound indecisive and weak. Some will read that as gay.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 21, 2022 6:39 PM |
Present hole and then we'll tell you
by Anonymous | reply 48 | June 21, 2022 6:41 PM |

You sound like a lovely creature.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | June 21, 2022 9:43 PM |
You have a great voice OP!
by Anonymous | reply 53 | June 21, 2022 10:01 PM |
I am American and think you just sound English. I also agree you have a great voice! You should do voice work!
by Anonymous | reply 54 | June 21, 2022 10:04 PM |
OP is a troll- this is a homophobic post- donât respond.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 21, 2022 10:09 PM |
R50. Lol. Do I sound high-pitched? I never thought Èo.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 21, 2022 10:22 PM |
R49. Who is that?
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 21, 2022 10:23 PM |
R58. As I say I find that doc a bit unhelpful as it only deals with American voices.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 21, 2022 10:30 PM |
Hard to tell OP. . Record yourself saying âWhat a fabulous window treatment!â and share.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 21, 2022 10:31 PM |
You sound perfectly fine, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 21, 2022 10:34 PM |
You sound English but not necessarily gay.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 21, 2022 10:50 PM |
R63- I think he sounds GAY but not necessarily English.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 21, 2022 10:51 PM |
r59 Except it does describe some of the problems that have been adapted internationally by flamers... with valley speak. like the excessive use of um, oh, so, like... and discussing the issues of cadence.
Comparatively, we would look at uk gay pop culture.. I'd suggest media between the 70s and 90s, where we have more exaggerated represention...
problem, of course, is the uk has many, many, many english dialects, accents and instead we're usually limited to soho faggotry. . . with a spritz of American influences
or the entertainment and media focuses more on class distinction.. usually the lowest of low and often with a bit of a northern ireland flavor that leans on the harsh and brassy... to which the northern irish accent tends to sound like trying to speak with a cock in your mouth... as so many vowels get shortened in words vs where in gay speak they're extended and sound a little retarded.
then with subcults like trackies, it reminds me more of the stereotype of french (blame the west asians) with harsher starting consonants.. to which like hor d'oeuvres is her durr vs the others that seem to prefer whore to dropping the h.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 21, 2022 10:51 PM |
^ well, we could also blame the influences of senegalese rappers, too.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | June 21, 2022 10:55 PM |
There are techniques you can learn to sound very straight.
I have taken full advantage of them. No one clocks me for being gay until I stick my dick in their ass.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 22, 2022 12:37 AM |
Does anyone remember that thread that linked a vocal website where you could record something and it would change the sound of your voice? Some of the DL recordings were really funny. I think I did one about Charlize Theron that was funny.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 22, 2022 1:01 AM |
R68 Yes! Someone did selections from the album "Julie Andrews: The Racist Years"
by Anonymous | reply 69 | June 22, 2022 1:05 AM |
There was also a recording pretending to be Mrs. Patrick Campbell that sounded like it was done by Maggie Smith talking about "sizemeat and low hangers"
by Anonymous | reply 70 | June 22, 2022 1:06 AM |
Ah, OP, you sound like you're from my neck of the woods. Are you from the SE? I'm in Surrey!
My voice is similar, but with added femme. There's absolutely no mistaking me for straight.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | June 22, 2022 7:12 AM |
R67 lol. I do think voices aren't learned. I've never really grown up with gays so I can't have picked it up from them.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | June 22, 2022 7:13 AM |
R71 let's hear! I grew up in the home counties and I went to independent school.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | June 22, 2022 7:14 AM |
Stay in your own lane, bitch!
by Anonymous | reply 74 | June 22, 2022 7:17 AM |
R74 what do you mean!?
by Anonymous | reply 75 | June 22, 2022 7:21 AM |
Not gay, just English
by Anonymous | reply 76 | June 22, 2022 8:00 AM |
There's English and there's English. Actually the Essex accent does sound gay.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | June 22, 2022 9:11 AM |
You still haven't told us about your bottoming experience. Have you tried DP?
by Anonymous | reply 78 | June 22, 2022 9:43 AM |
You sound rather sweet OP. I don't know if it's because I already know you're gay that influences my perception of your voice sounding gay or not, but I do think you sound a lil gay - but really, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that and you shouldn't worry at all about how you sound.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | June 22, 2022 10:06 AM |
OP you should hook up with UKGuy from R80 since you are both from the UK. He claimed he has a very big dick. Perfect for you.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | June 22, 2022 10:07 AM |
I don't have a VERY big dick R81, just a big dick
by Anonymous | reply 82 | June 22, 2022 10:10 AM |
OP, you sound gayer with every clip! Having said that you're talking about bottoming in the last clip, so it's hard to separate that from being gay. Anyway, I love your voice - it's bringing out my mostly latent inner top.
by Anonymous | reply 83 | June 22, 2022 10:13 AM |
You sound freaking adorable, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | June 22, 2022 10:14 AM |
R83 I think I'm just feeling more relaxed :).
Would you say I'm high-pitched?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | June 22, 2022 10:30 AM |
Not very high-pitched to me, OP/R85. Just very refined and gentle.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | June 22, 2022 10:37 AM |
Thank you R84
by Anonymous | reply 87 | June 22, 2022 10:37 AM |
But you have a VERY nice voice, UKGuy.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | June 22, 2022 10:45 AM |
UKGUy it's very deep.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | June 22, 2022 10:46 AM |
This is like one of those weird personal ads from the nineties, when people wrote things printed out in little boxes.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | June 22, 2022 11:06 AM |
What do you mean R90?
by Anonymous | reply 91 | June 22, 2022 11:10 AM |
As a fellow Brit Iâd say you sound more posh than gay. There is a softer inflection Iâd notice though which would would probably tip me off. Itâs not a deep, masculine voice, but itâs a very pleasant voice and you sound like a nice guy.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | June 22, 2022 11:16 AM |
The pauses were the tip-off for me.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | June 22, 2022 11:24 AM |
Upload a snippet of you saying âdo you want my hard cock in your pussy?â Then we will be able to tell.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | June 22, 2022 11:25 AM |
Gay Brit, 2 strikes.
To be fair, most Brits sound kind of gay the more proper they try to speak. But you sound naturally gay on top of gay Brit.
Americans incorrectly see manners and being very refined in men as a gay trait. Because straight men are rude sloppy pigs. Ergo, Brits who come across as proper start off with this assumption. I have even heard straight American woman say that British men all sound gay.
But like I said, I can detect a little bit of gayness even if the Brit thing was removed.
by Anonymous | reply 95 | June 22, 2022 11:26 AM |

R89 that's what HE said
by Anonymous | reply 97 | June 22, 2022 11:31 AM |
R95 I'm not sure I'm TRYING to sound posh or whatever. I just talk like that. I don't think Nicolas Fairford is really posh.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | June 22, 2022 11:37 AM |
Probably from Liverpool..
by Anonymous | reply 100 | June 22, 2022 11:38 AM |
I like that you're game for a laugh R98 - even though I personally find the current trend of referring to a bottom's hole as a 'pussy' to be a dick-wilter!
You do sound pretty posh to me - though sometimes people think I sound posh and I don't really hear it myself - I just enunciate properly and don't talk like a Cockney/chav.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | June 22, 2022 11:53 AM |
R101 oh yes I try not to take myself too seriously <3. Well you sound very different to me even though you sound very British. You have a deep voice. Masculine.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | June 22, 2022 11:55 AM |
Just sound "English"?!
Which "English"?
Scouse?
Geordie?
Mancusian?
Brummie?
Yorkshire ploughman?
Devon or Sussex dunes country?
Cockney?
Cornwall?
What you mean, of course, is Oxbridge Queen's English.
Anything less fey than most of those listed above would be hard to find.
"Hear a Cornishman or worse, hear an Irishman converse . . ."
by Anonymous | reply 103 | June 22, 2022 12:05 PM |
R103 is fey the same as sounding gay? Or are we just talking effeminate?
by Anonymous | reply 104 | June 22, 2022 12:09 PM |
Oh, er, I forgot a few other seriously hetero "English" speakers, Brian Cox, Ray Winstone ( we should discuss him sometime, he's the alpha and omega of working-class butch), and, then, of course . . .
RICHARD FUCKING BURTON.
Yes, nothing more fey than sounding "English".
by Anonymous | reply 105 | June 22, 2022 12:10 PM |
R104 You'll have to ask OP. I suspect that for many, it's a distinction without a difference.
R103
by Anonymous | reply 107 | June 22, 2022 12:17 PM |
I want to hear more voices from the Datalounge!
by Anonymous | reply 108 | June 22, 2022 12:19 PM |
Whenever I've heard someone say 'fey' it's been a eupemism for effeminate. Like fairy, etc. I was just called a poof at school.
by Anonymous | reply 109 | June 22, 2022 12:19 PM |
What does "<3" mean?
by Anonymous | reply 110 | June 22, 2022 12:20 PM |
It means a heart. If you turn your head sideways ot looks like a heart.
by Anonymous | reply 111 | June 22, 2022 12:20 PM |
R82 How big is it exactly? Since our little Timothy is a total bottom, I doubt he will accept anything less than 7.5 inches.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | June 22, 2022 12:23 PM |
8x6 R112, Timothy hasn't been DP'ed but I'm sure he would cope.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | June 22, 2022 12:37 PM |
You sound English and cute, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | June 22, 2022 12:37 PM |
What do you think my body type is, DL?
by Anonymous | reply 115 | June 22, 2022 12:39 PM |
R115 Do you want UKGuy's 8x6 dick? You are probably 5'7 and have never worked out before.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | June 22, 2022 12:43 PM |
R116 I don't build muscle, no.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | June 22, 2022 12:47 PM |
Thereâs not much received English spoken I read. Is OP speaking that or does he sound like chav? Either way, a bottom of course. Thatâs a given.
by Anonymous | reply 118 | June 22, 2022 12:54 PM |
R118 lol I'm not a chav!
by Anonymous | reply 119 | June 22, 2022 12:57 PM |
Gay. But a cute gay bottom.
by Anonymous | reply 120 | June 22, 2022 1:00 PM |
I, too, am English. And it is rather infuriating when Americans just ASSUME I am gay because of my accent.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | June 22, 2022 1:08 PM |
R121 Lol!!! You sound so funny. You see I'd describe that as queeny.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | June 22, 2022 1:10 PM |
R114 and very gay.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | June 22, 2022 1:20 PM |
R106- I'm not sure about his voice but Eddie Redmayne has EXTREMELY gay lips đ
by Anonymous | reply 124 | June 22, 2022 1:25 PM |
I'm wondering now whether when we say 'gay voice' what we really mean is 'bottom voice'?
by Anonymous | reply 125 | June 22, 2022 1:28 PM |
R82 (UK Guy) is that YOUR voice?
If it is, you sound like a TOTAL top.
by Anonymous | reply 126 | June 22, 2022 1:32 PM |
I have a crush on UKGuy's voice. It's not the accent, as I'm British, too, it's the low timbre. đ
by Anonymous | reply 127 | June 22, 2022 1:43 PM |
I like your voice OP, but it screams total bottom. You have upspeak (which is very feminine), you mumble (which shows a lack of confidence, but is really endearing), and itâs obvious youâre smiling as you speak (which isnât very serious = not very masculine).
I picture you to be a cute (but not intimidatingly hot), fun, put-together guy and Iâd definitely be your friend (with benefits).
by Anonymous | reply 128 | June 22, 2022 2:04 PM |
I want to be the meat in a UKGuy-OP sandwich.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | June 22, 2022 2:14 PM |
Are you a size queen Timothy?
by Anonymous | reply 131 | June 22, 2022 2:14 PM |
Yes R126 that is me, I am not a TOTAL top but I can wreck a hole, or whatever the expression is these days - I would tend to say I am top/vers but 95-5% split.
R130 what do you sound like?
by Anonymous | reply 132 | June 22, 2022 2:15 PM |
R131 no I'm not. My fiance is quite thick but not overly long. I've never been a size queen.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | June 22, 2022 2:16 PM |
I wouldnât suggest changing your voice at all, OP. The slight mumbling and occasional upspeak is really cute and will not diminish your authority when you do public speaking. You will probably naturally outgrow those as you age. If I heard you give a presentation, Iâd want to collaborate with you :).
by Anonymous | reply 134 | June 22, 2022 2:18 PM |
OP,, your voice sounds:
!. Incredibly cute and sexy,
2. British,
3. Maybe a little gay...in that order. I would ask you out in a flash, based on that recording.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | June 22, 2022 2:29 PM |
R133 How often does your fiance breed you?
by Anonymous | reply 136 | June 22, 2022 2:36 PM |
R136 depends if he's away working, but if he's working locally, then most days. Usually in the evening before I start cooking.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | June 22, 2022 2:38 PM |
R137 I do all my cooking in the bedroom.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | June 22, 2022 2:40 PM |
[quote]if he's working locally, then most days.
The lucky bastard!
by Anonymous | reply 139 | June 22, 2022 2:55 PM |
R139 well I'm lucky, too. Judging by DL standards, it seems getting a pounding isn't as regular an occurance for some as they'd like.

Well, the gay vicar on Corrie is supposed to playing a northerner. ^
by Anonymous | reply 145 | June 22, 2022 3:35 PM |
R145 haha yes but I am not northern.

A bit gay, like mine I suppose. And really quite posh.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | June 22, 2022 3:43 PM |
Not Scottish, R148, but maybe others can work it out!
by Anonymous | reply 151 | June 22, 2022 3:44 PM |
R130 You sound like you are vers which is different from Timothy's total bottom voice.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | June 22, 2022 3:47 PM |
R147 sounds like he has a slight Irish brogue. I also like the raspy undercurrent. Very sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | June 22, 2022 3:49 PM |
R147 you have a very sexy accent indeed, I wouldn't say it's a particularly 'gay' voice either.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | June 22, 2022 4:09 PM |
I'm not sure how I could confuse Scottish with Irish, but hey ho.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | June 22, 2022 4:11 PM |
^ Thank you for the various compliments. I've always hated my voice to be quite honest; I think that that's common for gay men as some of us are very invested, when young, in going undetected. And, yes, I am Irish!
by Anonymous | reply 156 | June 22, 2022 4:14 PM |
I have a crush on UKGuy's voice too, R127 (and also on OP). Two very different types, but both very pleasant.
It's been nice being able to hear people's voices here. Like getting a message on your answering machine. Something closer to real, human interaction. Weird, but nice.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | June 22, 2022 4:36 PM |
Well, thank you for that. I didn't have a great day and this thread definitely improved it. I won't use it because English is not my first language and speaking is very difficult for me (and I have a terrible voice), but it's a very good idea.
by Anonymous | reply 159 | June 22, 2022 4:55 PM |
R158- You sound like and remind me of that gay character on that show on Netflix Heartstopper- Charlie Spring
by Anonymous | reply 160 | June 22, 2022 4:57 PM |
I heard that after her first words OP's parents changed her name from Mary to MARY!!!
by Anonymous | reply 161 | June 22, 2022 5:03 PM |
R161 I've always loved the name Mary.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | June 22, 2022 5:13 PM |
Ironically, my extremely conservative and homophobic Catholic father wanted to give me the middle name "Mary", which was not an uncommon to thing to do here in Ireland at one point.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | June 22, 2022 5:22 PM |
Oh wow, yes, R147and it's been appropriated in other languages too to denote an effeminate male.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | June 22, 2022 5:23 PM |
I wish he had done it, R164! I would write it in all caps with an exclamation mark, e.g. John MARY! Murphy.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | June 22, 2022 5:31 PM |
Aww that's lovely. And then maybe you could be an Aunt Mary. Everyone needs an Aunt Mary in their lives.
by Anonymous | reply 166 | June 22, 2022 5:34 PM |
[quote]I've always loved the name Mary.
You and J. Edgar Hoover
by Anonymous | reply 167 | June 22, 2022 8:34 PM |
OP sounds like the YouTube personality Jammidodger, a prominent bi trans activist.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | June 22, 2022 8:38 PM |
I imagine OP looks like Ollie Rogers in Ten Percent. Sounds a bit like him, too!
by Anonymous | reply 169 | June 22, 2022 8:57 PM |
HelloâŠBonjourâŠ. Yes Simon Doonan, dear you sound gay, as one should. Kisses to Jonathan Adler. Have him throw me a pot. Loves you to pieces.
by Anonymous | reply 170 | June 22, 2022 10:24 PM |
Just a little. Like a soft accent. You have a nice voice.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | June 22, 2022 10:39 PM |
You do have a bit of London gay voice but I wouldn't change one thing about it, you speak really beautifully
by Anonymous | reply 172 | June 22, 2022 10:41 PM |
To me it's indicative of poshness rather than anything connoting sexuality, OP. Yours is the kind of voice Michael Gove wanted to adopt back in his Aberdeen boyhood, and he got most of the way there,
by Anonymous | reply 173 | June 22, 2022 10:44 PM |
I don't know who half these references are to but I'll take it as a compliment!
by Anonymous | reply 175 | June 22, 2022 10:52 PM |
You sound gay, & cute as a button.
I sound like a cross between Blanche DuBois & Gomer Pyle
by Anonymous | reply 176 | June 22, 2022 10:59 PM |
Ask the aliens...
by Anonymous | reply 177 | June 23, 2022 1:20 AM |
OP, you have variations in pitch and tempo when you speak, it's very pleasant. Just speak naturally, you sound great.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | June 23, 2022 2:00 AM |
We have a game here called Gay or Valley Guy?
by Anonymous | reply 179 | June 23, 2022 2:47 AM |
You sound like all English guys; gay.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | June 23, 2022 3:23 AM |
Posh is such an odd concept for Americans. We don't really have an equivalent to that. To us that kind of sound coming from a man sounds fake and pretentious. That's why it probably sounds gay to us because we associate men who are very refined to the point they have altered their accent as something only gay men seem to like doing.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | June 23, 2022 7:01 AM |
I know many men with a similar accent who are straight. Which county do you hail from OP?
by Anonymous | reply 183 | June 23, 2022 7:05 AM |
R183 I'm English
by Anonymous | reply 184 | June 23, 2022 7:50 AM |
ykw op, you sounds like a certain hood rat seacow in brooklyn, who pretends to be a posh Englishman, to hide your nasty m-pox cunt, which was thoroughly penetrated by unwashed homeless men out of pure desparation
by Anonymous | reply 185 | June 23, 2022 7:59 AM |
You just sound posh. But not in that American movie villain caricature kind of way.
You sound like Wesley Wyndam-Pryce from Buffy. And he was supposed to be kind of a "stuffy nerd" character.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | June 23, 2022 8:00 AM |
Wow R185 that escalated fast.
by Anonymous | reply 187 | June 23, 2022 8:05 AM |
OP, you don't sound gay just not very well-spoken -- too many uh, ums
by Anonymous | reply 188 | June 23, 2022 9:03 AM |
You bitches are really slipping. Only 2 posters have recognised OP as DLâs favourite pass-around bottom, Nick Fairford, who has been known to be a regular on this site, creating threads about himself.
by Anonymous | reply 189 | June 23, 2022 9:16 AM |
Lol R189 I am not Nick Fairford! My voice doesn't sound anything like his.
by Anonymous | reply 190 | June 23, 2022 9:20 AM |
Have you ever been fisted Timothy?
by Anonymous | reply 191 | June 23, 2022 9:21 AM |
R191 No I haven't. That sounds incredibly painful.
by Anonymous | reply 192 | June 23, 2022 9:24 AM |
R185 Jeepers
R184 I know! Which county?
by Anonymous | reply 193 | June 23, 2022 10:37 AM |
R193 Oh -- I grew up in Wiltshire but I live in Wales now.
by Anonymous | reply 194 | June 23, 2022 10:38 AM |
I thought it was home counties! No, I think you'd pass for straight based on the voice. I live in London and plenty of straight guys sound like you.
by Anonymous | reply 195 | June 23, 2022 10:44 AM |
If OP lived in LA they would assume he's probably gay. In London, straight without question.
by Anonymous | reply 196 | June 23, 2022 10:50 AM |
I suppose it comes down to the fact it's just the voice and voices aren't detached from bodies and mannerisms etc.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | June 23, 2022 10:52 AM |
Wait, The Murder, She Wrote troll is also British?! I had no idea there are so many of us. đ
I wish my voice was detached from my mannerisms, R197. Alas, every part of me hisses gay.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | June 23, 2022 10:56 AM |
R198 aww I feel you. Yes, when people meet me in person I cannot pass as straight. Maybe how I dress -- I'm twinky too -- and tend to have those stereotypical gay mannerisms. Unlearned, I have to say.
by Anonymous | reply 199 | June 23, 2022 10:59 AM |
Americans have some "posh" accents too, it just they're more regional. You have the rich New England acccent , Valley speak from CA, high class southern. I'm sure there are others too.
by Anonymous | reply 200 | June 23, 2022 12:14 PM |
R200- I donât consider ANY Southern accent HIGH class.
by Anonymous | reply 201 | June 23, 2022 1:19 PM |
I like the Southern accent.
by Anonymous | reply 202 | June 23, 2022 1:21 PM |
OP, R196 is correct. You will get different responses depending on whether the listener is American or British. See R18, R95, and R182 for why.
by Anonymous | reply 203 | June 23, 2022 9:44 PM |
I think you sound gay and English, youâre both gay and English so that makes sense. Why would any self respecting gay person want to sound straight? Guys this is self loathing 101, donât be afraid of / turned off by what you are.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | June 23, 2022 11:58 PM |
R204- I'm both gay and FAT.
Why would any self respecting FAT person want to look thin?
by Anonymous | reply 205 | June 24, 2022 12:22 AM |
You sound very posh
I think you have a nice voice
by Anonymous | reply 206 | June 24, 2022 12:24 AM |
OP, I love your voice!
by Anonymous | reply 207 | June 24, 2022 12:28 AM |
Do you think your voice has changed much since you were younger apart from it breaking?
by Anonymous | reply 208 | June 24, 2022 8:56 AM |
[quote]Valley speak from CA,
WHAT!!!! You have that completely backwards. Valley Girl speak is very low class. White girl low class, not ghetto or urban low class.
by Anonymous | reply 209 | June 24, 2022 9:03 AM |
Southern accent is not the American version of Posh. It's mostly associated with older generations and traditions of slavery. So it can instantly send the message of being very ignorant or poorly educated or even racist. It's not an accent anyone outside the south would want to imitate.
Probably the only accent Americans have of a Posh version is a fictional character on TV. Thurston Howell the Third, from Gilligan's island. And that was a sitcom.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | June 24, 2022 9:21 AM |
The South has produced many great American writers. You must not read r210. A refined Southern Gentleman typically has a lovely genteel manner of speech and accent.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | June 24, 2022 9:43 AM |
You do sound posh OP, you make me want to trade mustards with you.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | June 24, 2022 4:52 PM |
Question:. OP, have you ever had real chav dick? Would you? Also, Mryna McQueen. Thoughts?
by Anonymous | reply 213 | June 24, 2022 4:55 PM |
R210- The Roosevelts were Upper class both The Hyde Park Roosevelts and the Oyster Bay Roosevelts.
Franklin Roosevelt spoke POSH
by Anonymous | reply 214 | June 24, 2022 5:03 PM |
R213 no I haven't and I don't know who that person is you mention.
