No, you can keep him.

He was the real king of rock n roll. Everyone after him was an imitator. It took a lot of balls to be as flamboyant as he was, back in the day.

Did any of you celebrate Black Music Month or plan to? You should.

Was he homosexual?

r3 Only in Black Music Month or in Black History Month, and in Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month, Irish–American Heritage Month, National Arab American Heritage Month, Jewish American Heritage Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, Polish American Heritage Month, and Steak and Blowjob Day.
Or should they be segregated to their own months. . .
should be limited to ados or bring it in other black folk, and how mixed is too mixed to celebrate?

Hey, it’s PRIDE month. Go back to February, black people!

Yes, he was gay r4. He struggled his entire life with it though, which isn’t unusual for someone born in a religious southern family in the early 1930’s. I can’t believe that they allowed tutti-frutti to be played on the radio in the 1950s. “Tutti Frutti, good booty / If it don’t fit, don’t force it / You can grease it, make it easy.”)

Loved him. He made Prince look butch.
I was surprised to hear him say on some old talk show that he was the oldest of 12 or 13 kids and had to earn money to help support the family. Surprised, beccause he just seemed like such a hothouse flower.

He wore lipstick and wailed like a banshee. Played piano like he was breaking down your door. What’s not to love?

I often wonder how he was received by the general public back in the 50’s, wearing foundation, eyeliner and a beehive. Or did everyone just look past all that?

R6, June is both Pride month and black music month my friend.

Haven't we had enough pandering to black people? Will it cease or slow down once the blacks "forget" to vote in Nov and the Dems are crushed? How about recognition of other minorities, not just one. It getting so that there are only two kinds of people in the US - white and black. There are many others who are totally being ignored.

Well, R10, I just happen to have an aversion for banshee-wailers who wear lipstick while playing piano as though they were breaking down my door.
I love my door.

I think it's about time for a big Hollywood biopic to be made by one of the majors. I know a tv movie starring, Leon, was made years ago. So who should play him? And I hope they don't mandate that the actor has to be queer.
