Well, anyone willing to call himself a tosser isn’t self-involved/self-important enough to actually be a tosser. Harry does have self-esteem issues and an emo bent, though.

'To toss' means 'to wank' eg " I tossed him off down an alley".

'Wanker' and 'tosser', while meaning the same thing aren't quite the same when applied to a person. It depends on context, like 'cunt' can be the worst taboo word you can use in public or it can be a family-friendly term of endearment.
