Has anyone tried one of these? They look marvelous, but I wonder if it will break...
Donn do it. Donn do it!
It will devalue your home.

Who is Donn?

I think if you are buying a walk in bathtub you are probably pretty close to stepping off the property ladder and any small negative impact on your home’s value isn’t a primary concern. And there are probably already other elements of your home that younger buyers won’t like.
But, I agree, it’s not appealing to younger buyers.
How about a steam shower? I’d like one of those.

If you can walk at all, then you can raise your legs a couple feet to get into a tub.

I have a walk-in tub and a stair lift. I used to be a Broadway dancer and I don't like raising my legs anymore.

I’m just 58 and I would love one.
I would want one with all the extra features. Heated seat, heater to keep the water warm and the jets.
I only take showers so I have zero use for a regular tub.
Two months ago I had a nasty fall in the shower.

I'd rather have a walk-in shower than an walk-in bathtub but I'm not spending $10,000 to replace my current bathtub.

You have to sit there in your dirty water until it drains to open the door, shivering with cold water on your body. If you can step over those high walls you don't need one.

I want one. I think they should really be considered jacuzzis.
I'm not old, but could do with some hydrotherapy.

R8 you are not supposed to try to climb into them over the walls. They have doors on them with a very low bottom.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 19, 2022 3:00 PM |
If they had a "low bottom" it would defeat the purpose of the design! They are step in tubs. Not step down tubs.

R11 I am assuming you are also R8 at least I hope you are the fewer idiots on DL the better
If you zoom into the picture in OP you will notice that there is a door in the side of the tub which opens inward.
The seal around the door is reinforced to keep all the water inside the tub.
You open the door then lift your feet (as you have already proved to us you are stupid I feel it necessary to point out that you should raise your feet one at a time) over the 1-2 inch threshold, then sit down and close the door behind you.
Then you can fill up the tub to within a few inches of the top of the tub.
I would explain to you the procedure for exiting the tub but I’m afraid that would overtax that dormant organ you call a brain

r12 is here to defend walk-in bathtubs' honor!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 19, 2022 3:29 PM |
R6, why are you falling in the shower in your 50’s?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 19, 2022 3:35 PM |
I had athletes foot and had put an antifungal cream on my feet.
The cream had dried a few hours befoe but when I stepped into the shower and my feet got wet they became very slick.
As I turned to reach for the body wash both feet went out from under me

r12 CAN YOU READ? Why the fuck would you think r8 and r11 are the same person?
You're an idiot.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 19, 2022 3:40 PM |
Because R8 posted “If you can step over those high walls you don't need one.”
Only an idiot would think you were supposed to step over those high walls.

This one picture is for the two separate posters R8 and R11
