How is Julia Louis Dreyfus so nice and normal?
I just watched two interviews with her—by David Letterman and Jerry Seinfeld—and she seems almost freakishly down to Earth and normal. She's humble but not self-depricating. She seems very objective about her career and her talents. She lives at the beach, fishes and plays with her dog.
When she was diagnosed with cancer, she said she went into denial and just focused on getting through it and didn't think about anything other than the goal of finishing the treatment.
She mentioned that one of her Veep costars is one of her best friends in the world and how unexpected that is, and there seemed to be some implication that that is unusual and most of her friends are not her costars.
She's an heiress to a multi-billion dollar fortune.
She says her grandfather wasn't a nice person, and that she was caught between her mother's family and her father's family all her life and felt like she bridged them as a child and it was her responsibility to keep them from falling apart and she has dealt with that all her life in therapy. I imagine these things must have been healthy for her ultimately; had she been indulged, she might have turned out like Paris Hilton.

Which of her Veep is she friends with?

How do you know she's nice and normal, OP? Actors are "on" when they're talking to people like Letterman and Seinfeld. I bet she would be disgusted by your kiss-ass assumption. I say that as a big veep fan.

Léopold Louis-Dreyfus's great-grandson, Gérard Louis-Dreyfus, was chairman of Louis Dreyfus Energy Services, a subsidiary of the group involved in crude-oil trading, gas investments and infrastructure. Gérard is also the father of American actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the Emmy-winning star of Seinfeld and Veep. Another branch of the dynasty, based in Paris, was headed by Robert Louis-Dreyfus (who was also the CEO of Adidas) until his death in 2009. It is currently overseen by his widow, Russian-born Margarita Bogdanova Louis-Dreyfus.[11] A third branch of the family's business is headed by Philippe Louis-Dreyfus (born 1945) and is concerned primarily with offshore industrial activities and freight shipping operations.[12]

She was funny in the interview with Seinfeld—funny in the sense that she kind of told him he is an asshole in various ways throughout.
She told him that he has problems with social interactions. She seemed serious and he seemed offended and said "I do not."
She asked, "Do you remember when I was pregnant, and you said, 'Hey, why don't we just make Elaine fat this season?' And I burst into tears?'"
Then she said she regretted not going with that scenario because it would have been funny, and he told her she has grown as a comedian and it's to her credit that she can understand she was wrong.
Then he called his wife so Julia could ask questions about shopping on Poshmark and while talking to her, she said "Thank you for making Jerry more of a human being."
He seems like a serious dick.

Do you think all mega-wealthy people think and behave like the Trumps?
Is it possible any of them are decent?
I knew someone years ago from the Rockefeller family who led a charmed life and pursued allll of their interests without limits, but they seemed like an incredibly nice person. Rather eccentric in some ways, but personalitywise and attitudinally the opposite of a Trump.

One thing that is certainly in her favour is that if she's all that rich and entitled she didn't need to work her ass off all those years as a lead character in two separate comedy shows. But she chose to, she seemed always on point in said shows, and I've never heard a word about her being less than professional about it.
She probably had enough money just from Seinfeld never to have to work again. (Larry David certainly did.)

I love the Marc Maron interview with her. She does seem really earthy and tuned in to regular everyday shit. In the interview, she got all wistful talking about when NYC was affordable and how sad that it isnt anymore. I know, cry me a river rich lady - but she sorta contextualized it as NYC being a more interesting place when all sorts of random people could afford to just show up there. It felt sincere.
IDK. I really want to believe she is who she sounds like. I do think it's interesting that she's been with her husband FOREVER.
"She probably had enough money just from Seinfeld never to have to work again." Sure but all the actors except for Seinfeld were cut from royalties. Which is HUGE. The Friends actors make about $20 million a year from their royalties.

She's really not a billionaire heiress ("billionairess?"). Her estranged father was considerably wealthy, but she wasn't raised around him, and he left almost all of his fortune to other causes and relatives. Her stepfather, who raised her, was modestly wealthy in his own right. He was the dean of a medical school, and was able to afford private schooling for Julia and her sisters - They actually went to Holton Arms, the same school from the Brett Kavanaugh scandal.
She has her own money, and plenty of it. But she chafes at being called an heiress to a billion-dollar fortune. She says it was never that much money, and she was never intended to inherit it.

She has a beautiful head of hair. It's all naturally wavy and bouncy and glossy. Gorgeous.
Tony Hale?! He's his own dude. I saw an interview he did where he spoke of his anxiety issue, his asthma, and his mindfulness counseling. He's a Christian but I don't see how he could be conservative and do the kind of comedy he does, man came across as a hippie in the interview I saw if anything.
I imagine it must be nice to be well off and try your best in your field without ever having to worry about your housing and such. Then you hit paydirt but stay married to the same fellow who knew you when the whole time and survive a bout with cancer thus far. She might just so happen to be really fucking grateful for things is how I see it.
Her politics are just as good as her hair.

Jerry Seinfeld seems like an asshole. Even if he had never struck gold, he would still be an asshole, IMO.

She’s never wanted for anything or anybody.
That goes pretty far towards making for an easygoing personality.
I had nothing, had to beg for my Christmas presents and never got what I asked for. From the backseat of my parents car I routinely watched my uncles place their hands on the trunk of a police car, get frisked and handcuffed as my mother screamed at my father to stop the car and my father said “hell no.”
Got punched in the “kisser,” had my hair pulled & my neck yanked by my mother in front if classmates. Got chilblains standing out in the catholic school tarmac jokingly called a “playground” in zero degree weather.
Why did I grow up to be fearful, nervous, insecure, afraid of authority figures, mute before superiors (which was everyone)?
I dunno.
