From filming TOP GUN: MAVERICK to now his face fell. It really was the fillers that did his face in.

The Morton bio goes into detail about this. Cruise went to school with a girl who was on a soap. After doing Guys & Dolls he wanted to act, she introduced him to her agent, and his career took off from there.

Any “starving actor” claims Cruise makes are false. He was a regular middle class kid, still living at home in NJ after he graduated high school so it was easy for him to get to auditions in the city.

He sold his ass to Zeffirelli for the role he got in Endless Love. Another young actor (who was starting out the same time as Cruise), also went to an audition at Zeffirelli’s house. He went through he same audition experience as Cruise, during which Zeffirelli basically promised him a role if he put out. The guy ended up refusing and didn’t get the role.

Also, the role in Risky Business was supposed to go to another actor, however Cruise got into a relationship with Geffen, who used his pull to make sure the lead eventually went to Tammy.

Cruise was in the seminary for a while. I think that answers the question as to whether or not he's gay.

We also had a very very brief 'relatiaship'with Geffen, who is a total top btw. Sadly we got no parts.

People say this all the time, but it means nothing. Stars at his level of the stratosphere hire escorts who are required to sign privacy agreements and, probably, provide proof of negative STD tests. Tom Cruise is not going to hook up with some rando he met in a bar, male or female. (We haven't seen any women come forward and say they've had sex with him either.)

Saying TC is gay would mean he has some semblance of himself as a functioning human.
