I will admit that he has a bit of a point about misogyny. It does go beyond just women to infect a whole culture. So that effeminate gay men, and gay men generally, are despised for being "like women." That is somewhat true. It may all trace back to misogyny, and therefore women get the worst of it, but it definitely can affect men too indirectly. Then of course, you get into a whole thing of men trying desperately not to act like women by becoming complete assholes, but that is where it get really indirect.

And I'll even admit that straight people can be victims of homophobia in some ways, where any deviation of very traditional roles can be seen as acting like a homo or a lesbo.
