Sorry but that’s how I feel today

It's so relaxing, drowning out your sorrows for a little while. Does drinking make you a "sweet little powder puff with no gumption or will of your own"?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 2, 2022 2:57 AM |
You aint so mucking fuch. Burp. Why dontcha go in your own jack yard and backoff, buddy?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 2, 2022 3:00 AM |
I feel like we haven't had drinkie poohs around here in forever! I forgot about that! *Datalounge nostalgia*
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 2, 2022 5:04 AM |
Fresh strawberry margaritas.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 2, 2022 5:08 AM |
Whiskey sour. Surprisingly good.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 2, 2022 5:14 AM |
Luxardo or Fabbri Amarena?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 2, 2022 5:18 AM |
I want some Coronas w/lime plus hot tortilla chips/salsa.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 5, 2022 9:56 PM |
Make it a fuching triple. Don't care as long as it's strong.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 5, 2022 10:09 PM |
I have a little jar of Fabbri Amarena that is about 8 years old. I forgot all about it. Pretty jar but I'm afraid to open it now, so it's Kroger brand maraschinos.

Multiple mimosas with blood-orange juice. Barely made a dent in the juice bottle.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 5, 2022 10:12 PM |
I have about forty bottles of hard liquor in my storage unit. How long will it hold up. Will it still get me shnockered after five years in a non climate controlled room? I'm going to drink it anyway, just wondering.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 5, 2022 10:15 PM |
Damn, now I need to Irish up some coffee.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 5, 2022 10:31 PM |
"How dry I am. Nobody knows, how dry I am". Hiccup!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 5, 2022 10:35 PM |
OP, it's drinkie-poos -- pooh is for bears, not cocktails.
And they're for Friday nights, or at least weekends and holidays, not Wednesdays.

R14 Cheers mate. I didn't want to come across as too pedantic over poos and poohs, yet I'm awfully glad you cleared this up for everyone.
By the bye, are you at all familiar with the origin of the term drinkypoo? I'm unable to unearth anything.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 5, 2022 11:22 PM |
Drink your poo and shut your trap.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 5, 2022 11:43 PM |
R15, if you refrain from pedantry on DL, you'll never have occasion to post here at all.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 5, 2022 11:45 PM |
I need a pedant to let me know if it’s okay that I struggled for three minutes to open a bottle of raspberry syrup. I felt so glad no one was here to see that I’m not equal to removing a bit of plastic from a bottle.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 5, 2022 11:49 PM |
R17 Much obliged for the straight advice, but it was really about my not wanting to be pedantic over poos and poohs, not so much about my reservations about being pedantic generally. 🤓
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 5, 2022 11:50 PM |
All of the unsolicited, pediatric and pedantic prejudices are pretty unpleasant.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 6, 2022 12:04 AM |
Good to hear, R19 -- we need all the pedants we can get these days (I miss Tony Randall)!
And to answer your question: I've never seen "drinkie-poos" (with or without hyphen) spelled with a "Y", nor anywhere other than DL. So perhaps it's original with us, a la WHET, etc. I'm sure some kind pedant will correct me if necessary.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 6, 2022 12:06 AM |
Pedants need more 💩
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 6, 2022 12:08 AM |
R20 I try to be rather pleasant. Really, I do. I just opened a soft and earthy White Bordeaux. Wishing everyone good tidings, and a pleasant evening.
R21 🥂🚬 I've seen it both ways from a search, but you are correct to stress the DL preference and tradition. I was not the poster questioning the hyphen, just the origin of the term.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 6, 2022 12:14 AM |
Pedants, while pertinent, run the pertetual risk of coming across as petty. They make me want to have another drinkie.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 6, 2022 12:19 AM |
I don't need help from pedants, I need eyeglasses.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 6, 2022 12:20 AM |
R24 Great use of alliteration there. I shall tread ever so carefully whilst being pedantic.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 6, 2022 12:33 AM |
True, R24 -- though pettiness can be in the eye of the beholder even when it's not intended. I do apologize for any inadvertent offense, as I agree with Oscar Wilde that we should never hurt anyone's feelings unintentionally.
R25, I know what you mean. I have the eyeglasses I need but I fear that my hearing may be going too, though I must say that the experience is not without its amusing aspect. I keep hearing a local political ad encouraging us to "increase literacy" as a reference to "lunacy" -- and, as a reptile fancier, I enjoyed last winter's weather warnings of "severe blizzards", which I understood to refer to "lizards". Such intriguing mental images!

Couldn't find the right cauldron pic. This will do.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 6, 2022 12:46 AM |
Also, you witches/bitches can stir your Super size drinks with this award.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 6, 2022 12:49 AM |
OP hope you're in a better humour since Wednesday. 🥂🌻👍
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 6, 2022 12:54 AM |
Reply 27, Thank you. You are forgiven. Your vision stories are funny and ring true. And pedants are needed many times.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 6, 2022 1:11 AM |
R31, I picture "severe lizards" as bearded dragons wearing nuns' habits, rapping little boys' knuckles with wooden rulers for imperfect catechism recitations. Humor is where one finds it....

I’m having room temp Jameson with a “prebiotic” strawberry soda chaser. I thought i bought normal soda; this lacks the syrup sweetness of soda, but is still pleasant.
