Several years ago, I think I was targeted by one of these groups. I was chatting with a dude on Grindr whose profile said he was 22. We were this —><— close to meeting up for, basically, the same thing: to blow each other. About five minutes before our agreed upon meeting time, I was already at the place and "he" messaged to say that he was, in fact, only 17, but he wanted to meet up anyway and hoped I would be willing. I hustled ass out of there fast. The age of consent in California is 18. (In Indiana, it is 16.)

There are fucking school shooters running rampant in this country. There is a major shooting event at least once a week, if not twice. And THIS is the stuff that people are worried about? And some professional victim (it is unclear if she is really a cop) is lying and luring him into this situation. She probably lied, like an above poster said, and said she was of age and then changed her story when he got there. If they really are cops (and they sure don't behave like cops) there are better things they could be spending their time on.

I'm all about catching a predator and all of that. But I'm also waiting for the time one of these creeps shows up to Walmart or Target carrying a weapon, and is provoked to use it on one or more people. People who are innocent bystanders who have nothing to do with any of it. But I'm not sure the "captor" would be charged with felony murder, should the target of the "investigation" choose to use a weapon.

I don't recall it having happened yet, but these folks who fancy themselves "predator catcher" channels should be a little more intelligent about all this. They could start by NOT DOING IT AT ALL.

My older step sister was 14 in the mid 1970s, and she and her nympho high school friends made a contest of screwing around with the jock studs at Tulane University, many in their early 20s, she never gave the impression she was abused or molested, and she's a grade school teacher today. Even teens know what they're into, attraction, desire, it's the adults that freak out. Sex is recreational, like soccer or basketball. Teenagers know what they want, and some prefer older type, either a few years older, or a decade older, so what's the big deal? Seriously. They're going to get it from somebody.

Thank god the tide has begun to turn and things are changing in other countries like the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and Finland where therapy is now prioritized and transitioning is now a last resort.
