I am at the art museum and the labels have already been changed to Latinx
White people ruin everything! Even “Latino” was pushing it, trying to lump various cultures together with a bond of Romance languages and Catholicism (technically even the Quebeçois would be Latinx!)
Just use Hispanic or Brazillian. It’s not complicated.

Latin needs to have its meaning returned to refer to anything related to the Ancient Roman civilization.

“Latinx” is difficult to pronounce in Spanish. This article is great summary of the many other reasons why it’s problematic.

Am I correct thinking its women pushing this?
Women are ok losing control of their bodies and letting their children be massacred but God forbid you make the Trans feel left out!

"Latin" refers to the people, cultures and languages descended from Rome and the Romance languages: Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, Romanian, Gallo, Occitan, Corsican, Neopolitan, etc.
"Latino," in the US, refers to the Latin derived people, cultures, languages of Latin America.
"Latinx" is some gender-neutral terminology that PC navel-gazers dreamed up to appear all-inclusive.

Brownx is sufficient to cover Shawn Mendes in the Great White North (ironic, isn’t it?) to Patty in Patagonia.

This makes no sense. The X is supposed to replace the gender specific o/a suffixes. I've never heard of such a thing as Brazilo/Brazila, Portugeo/Portugea.

It wa in jest, R12, just like Latinx is a joke. I’ve not met one Latino who wants to be referred to as Latinx. Granted I’ve not met any trans Latinos or Latinas.

Hispanic is a past progressive term. Latinos/as prefer Latino/Latina, its part of the Spanish language.
In Spanish, Latinx is pronounced: Latin-e-quees.
Like saying I am American-ex.
In other words, stupid.
Did they bother to ask Latinos(as) first???

I have a Latino friend who teaches at an upscale private high school here in Los Angeles and he refers to himself and others as "Latinx." I just roll my eyes and mutter "Academia!"

Latinos absolutely despise the term. At this point, they consider it as an insult. They explain over and over again they don’t like the word and liberals continue to use it anyways.
