bi men have traditionally been the group most likely to stay closeted. So its important for visibility (and acceptance) that more are comfortable coming out, even if they are in a straight relationship.

I know someone who's brother announced at thanksgiving that he was bi....and is living with a woman in a presumably monogamous relationship. Might've done it because his family is Republican and its important they know they have a queer family member when they vote (even if it ends up not changing their votes, its something for them to consider when they see R's trying to score cheap political points against gays)

Very interesting data. The great bisexual change is happening among the 16-24 group, of course. And even if women of this age bracket are still more likely to identify as bisexual than men (7,6% vs 3,1%), the latter group was more disposed to select "don't know or refuse" (4,2% vs 2,5%), which at least indicates some current questioning.

As expected, men who identify as bi 16-24 become men who identify as gay 25-34. The only 'master' might be in its traditional use as an underage title for boys who haven't matured into their adult identity yet.

The mostly gay"men who are actually bisexual identify as gay because they prefer men.

Bis will shrink in the US after the scotus starts dismantling gay rights. Gays will go back in the closet. Andy Cohen will disguise his boy as a poodle to keep his job.

It's very trendy these days for young straight men to declare that they are bi in order to attract young women who think it's stylish and modern. But, if a gay tried to put the moves on them, they would be the first to scream, " Get away from me, faggot!"

You can almost always count on those who identify as bi, settling into a heterosexual life. It’s so much more convenient.

I really want to what drugs some DLers are high on. There is zero, zilch benefit for straight men to lie about being bi. Women are not turned on by their potential boyfriends or husbands being bisexual. Women are possessive of their partner and expect fidelity. Bisexual men have more of a chance of infidelity due to the fact, it's easier to find another man willing to have casual sex. Yes women enjoy stuff like yaoi, gay erotica or gay porn but that's purely the realm of fantasy. Some women can engage in threesomes and such but they would prefer it centered on their pleasure. Women want a masculine and loyal man. Even the "queer" hipster chicks with twenty genders will settle for a regular straight man who can provide.

r13 Huh? But this survey wasn't performed on social media. It was performed by government workers knocking on people's doors. Do you think that there are a bunch of 20-year-old men trying to bait government workers? For what?

R13 Yes. Also the fact a lot of straight men seem over women in general. Even if they aren't attracted to men, they may find more emotional support from other men. The hype squads of gays have little to repercussions too. No threats of suicide if they feel ignored, no harassing their gfs, no allegations, etc. The straight hot guy gets his narcissism fed without drama.

Honestly think that many people are bisexual or bicurious. This doesn’t surprise me. I had the hottest boyfriend at the end of HS in the states who had moved over from England and had gone to Eton College. He was mainly straight but had his tendencies. He said that a lot of his youth was experimenting with other boys at the school .

I know a few people with children that identify as gay or bi, but have never been on a real date and seem to have no sex at all. Rather than ask identity, perhaps they could base their stats on the sex of the people the subjects have actually fucked in the last 2 years.
