Knowing where they are in the timeline, I’m thinking they’re going to start incorporating The Testaments into the storyline and major characters will fade away.

Her announcement is worded very strangely.

It definitely doesn't sound like it was a mutual parting of ways or that it wasn't anything but a sudden left turn.

R16, the name Ofglen is a shortened "of Glen". She was a handmaid to a man called Glen so "Glen" could have 15 handmaids and they'd all be called Ofglen.

Elizabeth Moss is a wacked out Scieno, but actually has a solid rep outside of that as pleasant and hard-working. She was much beloved on the MAD MEN set (even as Hamm, Jones, and company were pulling some diva shit) and I haven't heard that she's changed.

She's also Exec Producer on THT and has won 2 Emmys. She's become a serious power player on TV.

r11, a friend of mine worked on the dreadful Gilmore Girls revival and said the same thing. Lauren and Alexis were terrible to deal with and they hate each other.

Bledel was very good on the show and I'll be sad not to have closure for that character, I've loved watching Emily's story - it was one of the most important arcs across the series.

I'm glad it's ending but I think the show's maintained the same high quality through its whole run - I'm surprised so many people seem to have stopped watching. I never hear anybody talk about it anymore. I do keep forgetting what happened in previous seasons though, it keeps feeling like the break between them has gotten longer and longer.

I hope this means Amanda Brugel gets more screen time. She's amazing.

Gilmore Girls had two unlikable and spoiled main characters who were just minded by everyone for some reason.

Bledel's good in Handmaid's Tale, not so much in Gilmore Girls.

He had never acted before GG. R76 she was a model who never even had intentions of going for that part when they wanted her and her look.

She got a lot better as the show went on.

Gilmore Girls is a great show. I don’t see anyone online bashing it but on here. It’s aged fine. It was about a single mom and daughter. It wasn’t about anything that would make it age like milk.

I think GG is one of those shows that many people loved, so they have a hard time accepting that it was filled with raging cunts.

Or people watch the show to watch the show and aren’t concerned about whether the actresses are nice or not in real life.

I don't get why Lauren and Alexis were so stuck-up. Yes, Gilmore Girls was critically acclaimed and popular and all. But they weren't close to A-List stars. I never get why so many WB/CW or other TV drama stars get an attitude. Especially when they always try to do Hollywood movies but fail and end up back on TV or Netflix. Chris Pratt was one of the few who got lucky.

They became TV stars. This was back when there was still a line between movie stars and tv stars. The show made them names within the TV world.

They were also on the WB. Not CW. And WB actually brought in good ratings and made some stars. CW not as much.

Bledel was actually pretty good in the first season of Gilmore Girls. She was a lot snarkier and droll and was a good foil for Lauren Graham. But as the show went on she strangely got worse. There were a couple of emotional scenes that she absolutely bombed.

I actually always liked her delivery as Rory. Like r88 said, she was a good foil for Lorelei. Their scenes together worked well.

The GG reboot was disappointing at best, pathetic at worst.

Back in the day, I was a GG appreciator. Now when I see re-runs, I see how poorly it has aged.

I’ve also gotten to know a crew member who swears it was the most toxic environment they have encountered in all their years. Their stories of Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel were jaw-dropping.

As a result, whenever I pass by Gilmore Girls on TV, I literally become nauseous.

Suki didn’t have much story. They relied on Melissa’s improv ability with those cooking scenes, while Lauren Graham was self-centeredly prattling on about Lorelai’s troubles.

McCarthey was a recast choice.

GG was a very cozy show. The TV version of a hot cocoa near the fireplace on a snowy night. Lorelei and Rory were both annoying over time despite they're supposed to be relatable. The supporting cast were more likable and charming. It doesn't age well because it reeks of privilege. A very pre-2008 recession type of show. Aspiration and sentimentalism doesn't sell much anymore unless it's Hallmark.
