Equate Beauty All-Day Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Moisturizing Lotion, SPF 15, 6 fl oz at Walfart. Under five bucks. Comparative to Oil of Olay.

Bonus! It hasn't blinded me and I don't resemble a boiled lobster.

I've seen that doctor's YT videos and even though she gives some good advice, her anorexia is startling. The woman needs help.

by Anonymousreply 4May 27, 2022 4:50 AM

I’ve had good luck buying the European version of sunscreens on eBay. They are so much less smelly and slimy.

by Anonymousreply 5May 27, 2022 4:58 AM

[quote]US and Canada have the worst sunscreens because they are the only countries that regulate sunscreens as drugs as opposed to cosmetics, and therefore new and more advanced filters take decades and shitloads of money to get approved. What we have available instead are ancient technologies that were laid to rest decades ago in the civilized world.

You just answered your own question.

I wouldn't buy anything on ebay. they are probably stolen goods. In fact in NYC, they just charged over 40 people who were involved with stealing items from stores and selling them on ebay. The crooks had over 3 million bucks! it's an organized ring of thieves of course.

by Anonymousreply 9May 27, 2022 5:08 AM

Blue Lizard.

by Anonymousreply 10May 27, 2022 5:14 AM

I prefer mineral. And asia has the best from what I’ve tried.

My current favs are : cetaphil tinted daily moisturizer for the face, sunbum mineral/ sun bum glow sunscreen for the face. Blue lizard. Versed sunscreen. Isntree hylaronic acid sunscreen. And finAlly biore watery essence.

I’ve tried a lot!

by Anonymousreply 11May 27, 2022 5:22 AM

what about supergoop brand?

by Anonymousreply 12May 27, 2022 5:26 AM

I don't care about white cast or greasiness, but am trying to find one that doesn't stain my white clothes yellow.

by Anonymousreply 13May 27, 2022 5:26 AM

Be careful w/ the Asian ones. I had heard the ones from Korea are the best but my friend in beauty said that many of their sunscreens have skin bleaching ingredients in them.

Kiehls always makes good products and they have a nice sun screen. I think Coppertone Sport 50+ is the best for being out in the sun like at the beach. It stays on after you go in the water. Neutrgenea daily moisturizer w/ SPF 30 is pretty good for day to day. Keihls has a men's facial fuel w/ SPF 20, but it's too low for me. I live in CA.

by Anonymousreply 14May 27, 2022 6:20 AM

Some of the stuff she sprays in her face could work as a screen.

R12, they make really good sheer sunscreens

by Anonymousreply 16May 27, 2022 5:53 PM

OP, you should stick with Asian sunscreens.

by Anonymousreply 17May 27, 2022 6:14 PM

I am a sunscreen connoisseur- I have tried everything- EVERYTHING. And read up and researched and follow some good folks on Youtube as well.

And ironically R17 nailed it

Don't laugh. Try this shit!! Buy 2 at one time.

My little mermaid OP. We can both be 44 and look 14.

Get this shit on Amazon. Its smaller than I expected and I should have purchased 2.

Asian sunscreens cannot be beat. They are way less toxic than American ones and you can easily find one that doesn't leave a white mask on your face.

by Anonymousreply 19May 27, 2022 6:33 PM

R19- This one gets RAVES. (Mermaid Queen or whatever its called)

It also smooths out wrinkles a little (thats why the chicks dig it) It is very sheer, light, not oily, is ZINC OXIDE based (I dont know they did it- that shit is generally goopy and pasty white)

SPF 50 too!!!

I was at the store buying beer and they called the cops because they thought I was a toddler. I look THAT fresh.

by Anonymousreply 20May 27, 2022 6:41 PM

R20, wow. That sounds amazing!

by Anonymousreply 21May 27, 2022 6:43 PM

Also, you can never go wrong with Elta- Some of them burn slightly- but they make great sunscreen.

Let me try to find the one that I dug a few years ago- it was great.

by Anonymousreply 22May 27, 2022 6:46 PM

Supergoop is fucking amazing. Sephora has it.

by Anonymousreply 23May 27, 2022 6:58 PM

R23- My Japanese shit is being called a DUPE for Supergoop "Skin Sheer" SPF 40.

Supergoop Skin Sheer does burn a little, but its awesome. I like this Japanese version better. No burning. And its natural.

Most of Supergoops are chemical sunscreens.

I actually use Supergoop for my body. My body looks like its 4-5 years old. Maybe 6 in bad lighting.

Australian Gold makes a good mineral sunscreen

An ugly expression.

by Anonymousreply 26May 27, 2022 8:39 PM

R26 is my grandma.

by Anonymousreply 27May 27, 2022 8:48 PM

So your grandma had class and somehow produced your nasty tacky self?

by Anonymousreply 28May 27, 2022 8:59 PM

Now just who goes around sucking donkey balls?

Why do stupid people allow stupid phrases to enter their language?

by Anonymousreply 29May 27, 2022 9:23 PM

Sunscreens are for morons. They block VITAMIN D which you need for immune function, etc.. Skin cancer is 99% cureable as long as you get checked 2x a year or so.

Honestly- so fucked.

Fuck this place.

Ten minutes of sunlight without sunscreen is plenty.

by Anonymousreply 35May 27, 2022 10:03 PM

R34 Totally agree. I’m also wary of ordering these sunscreens on Amazon. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more testing of Asian sunscreens after the Purito scandal (or maybe there has been and I haven’t been paying attention).

OP My go to sunscreen at the moment is Ombrelle Complete SPF 60 (with Mexoryl) which is available in drugstores here in Canada. There is no white cast for me (but does occasionally leave white smudges I have to watch out for to run in). It does leave me slightly dewy but not an oil slick.

Clarins and Clinique

by Anonymousreply 38May 28, 2022 1:15 PM

The article linked says that 43 percent of sunscreens in the U.S. have lower SPF than marketed. So, when in doubt buy higher and wear protective clothing and hats and don’t spend too much time exposed to bright sunlight. Also, look for higher percentages of active ingredients, which could be more accurate than SPF rating.
