How Many People Does 2 lb shrimp cocktail serve?

I would guess about eight people OP. Depends how much they eat.

I always heard 1/2 lb of meat pp.

That's enough for four-five appetizer servings.

Did you know most of the shrimp that is sold here, unless it's fresh caught from local waters, comes from sewage filled ditches in Asia? It's odd because we send our fresh caught over there and import theirs. I always go straight to my local fish market where the boast pull in.

If you are using raw shrimp, this will feed 2-3 people. However, if you are using cooked shrimp, you will feed more like 4-6 people with 2 pounds of shrimp.

OP, serve it the Mexican way with sliced Avocado and saltines on the side.

You get what you pay for, in seafood. There are no bargains. That is garbage shrimp, OP. Why not think of a quality appetizer in your budget. Also shrimp outside - no thanks. How are you going to keep it cold? I think you should make some sort of appetizer that includes a toothpick. In these pandemic times, the person can grab a tooth pic and not get his covid and monkey paw fingers on all the other food.

If its a popular crowd without gourmet tastes, maybe the "QUICK SALAMI AND CREAM CHEESE BITES". I am also positive feeling about the "Glazed Kielbasa Pineapple Bites", which sounds both gross and delicious and not pretentious but yes a bit unusual.

You don't normally have to worry about seafood outside since most people eat that shit up fast.

Shrimp or Tuna salads are my go tos for outdoor summer gatherings.
