All this talk about Datalounge closing

No mention of closing the site down.

well it scares me that the data is from 2015. 22and2hot2bebelieved would be pushing thirty by this point.

I’m left with the feeling that a really significant amount of the companies income is made from this site. Close no, sell possible.

If you don’t pay the subscription fee some threads get paywalled.

This issue is when an active thread just refreshes, gives up after a couple of attempts, and says you can’t post.

If Datalounge went bankrupt, it would be sad but I would forget about it after a few days.

I would never forget it! I would mourn for the rest of my life. Luckily, I think it was a false alarm.

I think that post about DL closing was the equivalent of Muriel vagueposting to get likes and attention, which I don't mind giving to those I care about, and I care about that gal- she does exist, and her posts have been entertaining over the years. Rare, but they do happen.

I question those stats because how would anyone know the gender of those visiting?

It made no sense that the company would close down Datalounge

They might have had a drop in traffic, BUT the amount of data they collect far outweighs the money they make from subscription fees

This is a low cost site, that runs on it own. But they have access to user data, which is valuable.

So made no sense for them to close it down.

So many things happen that don’t make sense, though.
