Do straight guys have male celebrity crush?

First Nate from Euphoria said in an interview that he has had a crush on Orlando Bloom now we got phenomenal popular actor Kit Connor saying he has a huge crush on Hugh Grant. The interesting thing is, fangirls still believe these two actors are very straight. According to your understanding and experience, do you have any buddies who admitted that they have a crush on males yet straight identified?

Are you John/PMBT?

It's been a thing for years for straight guys to have a male celebrity, that they really loved, and they would say, "yeah, he is the one man I'd go gay for."

by Anonymousreply 2May 23, 2022 4:03 PM

It's called a "man crush" and it is a non sexual obsession with an athlete or celebrity.

by Anonymousreply 3May 23, 2022 4:19 PM

Agreed. The "man-crush" has been fashionable among hip millennials (and Gen-Z) for at least a decade now.

I was shocked to hear it from the hipster bros at my job. But it's mostly a lot of talk. I don't think many of them would actually engage in mansex. (IMHO, millennials are awfully wimpy about sex, in contrast to the horny Gen-Xers and late Boomers.)

Phenomenal popular actor, I'm just gonna stop you right there, mate. There's nothing phenomenal about that fat gym rat.

Fraus like to think this.

On Gilbert Godfried's podcast Pat Cooper said he met Cary Grant and 'jesus christ, he was so beautiful I wanted to blow him.'

by Anonymousreply 6June 6, 2022 8:31 AM

Sure. Like DLers have mad crushes on women.

Free DL from fraus 2022 This ain't a place for talking about prude gay romance, go to wattpad

OP, it is like my crush on Liz Taylor.

I'm bisexual...I loved Judy Garland. I cried and cried the day she died.

La Senatrice and Donald Trump

Everyday straight guys don't have crushes. They tend to admire other men with status and wealth not because of looks. They want to be the men they admire not sleep with them. It seems most of you don't know a lot of straight guys at all.

by Anonymousreply 12June 6, 2022 10:45 AM

Poor guy, since he is in this queer show he can' t say that he has a crush on some bimbo with big boobies, because the woke crowd would be angry because another straight actor is stealing roles from LGBT. So, he had to say he had a crush on some harmless old guy. It is like a closet case saying he has crush on Meryll Streep.

Grant is a weird choice. He can look very, very old when he's not professionally made up and lit.

by Anonymousreply 15June 6, 2022 12:33 PM

Grant IS very, very old. The bloom went off that rose decades ago, such as it was.

by Anonymousreply 16June 6, 2022 1:14 PM

Every man has a male crush OP.

Can a bisexual be a MARY!?

by Anonymousreply 18June 6, 2022 1:36 PM

No.

Only gay men and bisexual men develop crushes. Nate and Kit might claim to be straight, but they're not. Unless the definition of the word "crush" has been recently defined to someone you like or simply admire and the sexual element has been removed.

Brad Pitt.

If by crush you mean sexual and romantic attraction, no. If you mean idolize or want to have as a cool friend- sure.

by Anonymousreply 21June 6, 2022 4:32 PM

This cast is being fed what to say for publicity. The entire thing is ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 22June 6, 2022 4:39 PM

people really be discussing sexuality of someone who is 5 days younger than jesus.

by Anonymousreply 23June 10, 2022 10:24 PM

No different than the straight guys who admit their crushes on Ryan Reynolds.

by Anonymousreply 24June 10, 2022 10:35 PM

I believe for a while, straight actors named Brad Pitt as the go-to guy they'd go gay for. An easy, throwaway answer.

“Man crush”

“Bromance”

Terms like these are total misandry.

They’re feminine terms that have homosexual undertones to undermine the natural male nature to admire and like other males without being gay.

There’s nothing crazy about men having close bonds / relationships without each other or admiring another man.

These terms say this is different. That men should be only interested in women.

by Anonymousreply 26June 10, 2022 10:53 PM

R12 This.

My circle of male friends growing up were skater guys in hardcore metal bands. They’d get wasted and fall sleep spooning each other. They’d sleep in the same beds, we’ve all seen each other naked.

Men disconnect from sex. I don’t know how to explain it but it’s like men will beat off together, fuck girls together, hell fuck farm animals together and they’re not attracted to each other.

Or some just love each other like brothers.

Male bonding is natural and like I said, terms like this are just homophobic and misandry.

I am sorry, but this is exactly what toxic masculinity is about. "A STRAIGHT guy having a crush? That's so gay and girly. Real men are not supposed to be weak or vulnerable with girly or gay character traits! Men are supposed to be strong and manly!".
