I saw him up close at a fund raiser back when he ran against Ted Cruz. He is one of those people that don't read well on film looks wise. In person he is average, but Beto has that "IT" factor that makes you want to be around him. I really hope he can beat Abbot, but I am not holding my breath. If he just dialed back the pandering to "left" causes, and ran on middle ground issues he could win. After he got into office he could try to change things. If he really wanted to win the Texas voters over he would be telling us he is planning on lowering our damn property taxes!
