I'm surprised this isn't a favorite on here considering it stars Judy Garland as an animated cat.

Was it successful in its day? It's barely talked about at all when people discuss their favorite animated films OR movie musicals from childhood.
I have only a teeny vague memory of watching it once on TV as a kid (early 70s probably).

It was one of my favorites as a kid, and still has charm from its era.

It got good reviews but it was a box office flop. The funny thing is that most of the posters and marketing for the movie had Judy's name as the billing in bigger and bolder text than the actual title of the movie.

I consider it far superior to The Aristocats which came out a few years later and was a total rip-off of this movie.

Let's not overlook DL fave Hermione Gingold.

Only Hermione Gingold could pronounce Meow-rice and not make it sound like a joke.

Does R4 prefer Bedknobs and Broomsticks?

R7 No, although I like Bedknobs and Broomsticks a lot, I am not DL's resident Bedknobs and Broomsticks fanatic who thinks Mary Poppins is somehow racist and the worst movie ever created.
