Omg! So cute!! Can’t wait to watch!
The Seven Dwarfs could all fit on her forehead.

Disney are getting their costumes from Spirit Halloween now?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 20, 2022 6:13 PM |
Hope there are English subtitles.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 20, 2022 6:15 PM |
Not white.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 20, 2022 6:15 PM |
I saw some people on FB upset because she’s “not white”.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 20, 2022 6:16 PM |
That costume does look like something from a Halloween store, as r2 said. Really amateurish. And that girl looks like an alien.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 20, 2022 6:50 PM |
That costume is pathetic.

[quote] "That costume is pathetic."
Three-time Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell did this film. I typically appreciate her work (especially "Orlando" & "Far From Heaven"), but I'm no fan of this, either. I hope the rest of the film looks better.

Is this the twisted version where the dwarves bang her box?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 20, 2022 7:08 PM |
^****Yes, the dwarfs pull a tiny train on her. She keeps asking them, “Are you in?”
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 20, 2022 7:20 PM |
I guess the characters will do air quotes every time “Snow White” is mentioned.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 20, 2022 7:33 PM |
[quote]I saw some people on FB upset because she’s “not white”.
It’s because she was named for having skin as white as snow. How do you explain her name now? Or do they rename her to Snow Brown?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 20, 2022 7:41 PM |
Haha r11!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 20, 2022 7:41 PM |
I don't understand why people think she's pretty. I found her hard to watch in West Side Story.
Well, to be honest I found everything hard to watch in the new West Side Story.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 20, 2022 7:44 PM |
She looks special needs., Not pretty at all.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 20, 2022 7:45 PM |
Ms. Zegler is too bitchy to be Snow White.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 20, 2022 7:53 PM |
Is this the one with CGI forest creatures instead of Dwarves?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 20, 2022 7:53 PM |
It’s a fairy tale reimagined for our times. The stepmother will be Caitlyn Jenner.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 20, 2022 8:44 PM |
The long hair hides her pointy witch chin. The short hair accentuates it that I thought she was playing the wicked witch who gives Snow White the 🍎.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 20, 2022 8:52 PM |
I thought she looked ugly enough normally but this is a new low even for her. This has-been needs to accept already that her career was DOA when she couldn't even get an invite to the ghettoest Oscars of all time.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 20, 2022 8:54 PM |
Jesus, what is this, the Dollar Tree version of Snow White?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 20, 2022 8:56 PM |
Has she got her tits out for the lads?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 20, 2022 8:57 PM |
Why do people have a problem with her being Snow White but not with Halle Berry being Ariel in The Little Mermaid?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 20, 2022 8:58 PM |
No offense, but that complexion does not match that costume.

It's Halle Bailey.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 20, 2022 9:00 PM |
R26 She looks like an ugly boy playing dress-up with his mommy's wardrobe.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 20, 2022 9:01 PM |
R23 people do have a problem with that, but this is specifically about Zegler's Snow White.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 20, 2022 9:03 PM |
They’re not even going to be called dwarfs in this because it’s offensive. Can Disney stop with this woke bullshit already? No one wants to see this.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 20, 2022 9:10 PM |
Which will flop harder? The Latinx Snow White or the black Little Mermaid? 🧜🏿♀️
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 20, 2022 9:10 PM |

Disney no doubt wants to start casting tranny kids for this type of shit. Remember this?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 20, 2022 9:11 PM |
The Latinx Snow White would be my guess. Halle Berry is more of a name, and I think more people (under 75) love the little mermaid more than that apple-eating, dwarf-fucker.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 20, 2022 9:12 PM |
R33 Lol since when is she a name? Her biggest credit is a Freeform TV show...in a supporting role.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 20, 2022 9:15 PM |
R34 - What are you going on about? Berry is an Oscar-winner.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 20, 2022 9:17 PM |
I guess like Mae West said she used to be Snow White but she drifted.....
Now she's as pure as the driven slush.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 20, 2022 9:17 PM |
R36 True, and she's half-white so people can only have half a problem with her casting.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 20, 2022 9:18 PM |
R34 - Oh I see. It's Halle BAILEY. I thought it was Halle Berry. Well, ok, they're both nobodies. But Mermaid is more popular.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 20, 2022 9:18 PM |
If the Hedy Lamarr documentary is factual about how Hedy Lamarr was the inspiration for Snow White's visuals, then this casting is racist and anti-Semitic because they've given an alien brown girl the role that belonged to a Jewish woman.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 20, 2022 9:20 PM |
She is really unlikeable. You will watch anything Op Brooklyn Seacow Ed.win. Also quit typing like a teenage girl you middle aged fatso.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 20, 2022 9:20 PM |
Rachel Weisz in the Disney Dreams portrait was much better casting, even if she is too old now. Considering how Olivia Colman was in talks to play the Queen, it would have been fun for Rachel and Olivia to be cast against each other again. Both would technically be too old for their roles but we wouldn't mind.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 20, 2022 9:21 PM |
Who keeps bringing up Halle Berry? She’s in her mid 50s. You are stupid if you think she was cast as 16 YO Ariel
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 20, 2022 9:34 PM |
R42 No more crazy than blackwashing a classically white, red headed mermaid.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 20, 2022 9:36 PM |
Ariel is supposed to have green skin and scales.
Disneys version is only the Disney version.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 20, 2022 9:37 PM |
The classical portrayal of mermaids have always featured them with flesh tones, not green skin and covered fully with scales.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 20, 2022 9:38 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 20, 2022 9:38 PM |
R45 The Little Mermaid is supposed to be green.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 20, 2022 9:39 PM |
R47 her tail is green. Her skin is white, her hair red and her eyes blue.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 20, 2022 9:43 PM |
R48 in the Disney version. Yes.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 20, 2022 9:49 PM |
R49 And this remake is also Disney so logically people would expect the remake to feature a red headed, blue eyed, white skinned mermaid.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 20, 2022 9:53 PM |
I hope she closes her mouth when she films.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 20, 2022 10:00 PM |
R51 Looking the way she does, she won't have to worry about closing her legs.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 20, 2022 10:01 PM |
The difference is Ariel’s race never played a role or factor into the story. She’s a fish.
Snow White needs to be white. Ariel doesn’t.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 20, 2022 10:01 PM |
R42 - As any DL veteran will attest, 50 years old can look 16.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 20, 2022 10:04 PM |
She looks absurd, and totally unmagical.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 20, 2022 10:12 PM |
"I wish I had a little girl with cheeks as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony."
That's what Snow White's mother, the Queen, wishes as she embroiders at an open window with snow falling outside, pricks her finger, and three drops of blood fall onto the snow covered sill.
"Snow White" is an 18th-century German fairy tale that is today known widely across the Western world. The Brothers Grimm published it in 1812 in the first edition of their collection Grimms' Fairy Tales and numbered as Tale 53. The original German title was Sneewittchen, a Low German form, but the first version gave the High German translation Schneeweißchen, and the tale has become known in German by the mixed form Schneewittchen. The Grimms completed their final revision of the story in 1854.[1][2]"
The jealous mother/witch/stepmother of a beautiful stepdaughter and the use of a mirror or mirror-type presence such as a river, is quite common in varied cultures, and represents a common rendering of an archetype familiar to many families: an aging woman confronting the blossoming beauty in the house of a nubile younger woman. Cinderella also contains this theme, and so does Sleeping Beauty, in which the Bad Fairy takes the place of the aging mother/stepmother and dooms the future beautiful princess.
But this particular version is arechetypically Germanic/European, from the castle to the forest to the to the apple to the glass casket.
There is an African version, I believe, called "The Beautiful Daughter" (no explanation needed for the problem THERE!).
Why didn't they do that one instead of making a mockery of the actress who has to pretend to be the archetypal creature NAMED SNOW WHITE?!
Don't they realise that it makes it look like they just have to piggy-back onto white European culture because they have nothing of their own?
Jesus, she's not even that pretty.

Paula Strasberg told her daughter Susan, when she had her long hair, "Never cut your hair, Susie. It makes you look like a madonna."
Rachel Zegler was an idiot to cut her hair. Now she looks like half a dozen other starlets. And a French bulldog.

R8, that’s interesting. “Orlando” was beautiful. I rewatched it, not too long ago, and it mostly held up. Gorgeous; the costumes were excellent. Unless there’s some schtick with the production design, this costume is terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | May 21, 2022 2:14 PM |
Maybe Disney cut the costume budget as punishment for the Oscars mess. Chapek seems that petty

Rachel is like an uglier version of Anya Taylor-Joy
by Anonymous | reply 65 | May 21, 2022 2:29 PM |
My only complaint is that she is ugly.
Sadly, there are fewer nice-looking people in media now than in real life.
It used to be the opposite.
Ugly people with weak acting skills are the worst. I guess they give good head.

R65 I would watch if Anya played Snow White.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | May 21, 2022 2:38 PM |
R62 LOL! That reminds me of this exchange I once had with a friend when we were watching MTV or VH1 after school one day in the late '90s. No Doubt's "Don't Speak" music video was playing and my friend said, "She reminds me of Madonna." I was like, "Madonna the singer?" "No, Madonna the little old lady who lives down the lane." 😂
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 21, 2022 2:42 PM |
Anya is terrific, and I doubt she would touch this dumpster fire of a remake.

R70 - Yes, but then how we should ever get work? HJs are for extras.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | May 21, 2022 2:52 PM |
Don't like anything about this so far. So tired of the Disney remakes. And yes, normally skin color shouldn't matter at all, but the story of Snow White is very specific about that detail.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | May 21, 2022 2:59 PM |
R72, I totally agree with you. And that specificity is probably why it was targeted for a remake with this ugly woman.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | May 21, 2022 3:23 PM |
Not usually racist but yes, the "Snow White" is describing her skin. Maybe they should have skipped this one. I have no problem with an Ariel of Color. A Snow White of Color just doesn't make sense. They should have re-named the movie if they felt they HAD to do this. Or she could have been played by a very light Asian.
I've always wondered if there is a big market for prostitutes dressed as Disney Princesses around Orlando, Florida.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | May 21, 2022 4:05 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 76 | May 21, 2022 4:29 PM |
She’s not pretty and you need Snow White to be pretty and white to match her description from the story.
Casting this actress just comes across like Disney is trying to tick a box.
