I'm in my mid-30s. When I was 20 I used to like poppers. Then I stopped using them for a long time and recently my husband and I decided to try some on a lark, both of us felt sick afterwards.

I’d be curious to understand long term neurological risks of using inhalants like amyl nitrate, and whatever chemicals are now used in poppers. In France, I met a guy why was young, but basically disabled with signs of a bad stroke (aphasia, Bell’s palsy, unsteady gate, and very slurred speech). His friend said that he stroked out on some type of inhalant, and I always wondered if that was a bad reaction to poppers. I also wonder if they age you in appearance. Informally, I notice some friends who used them aged in appearance pretty rapidly during that time. I’m honestly curious about the physiology involved in using these compounds. For some reason, I think they affect your skin, but I don’t have any evidence of that.
