Jamie Wallace was in court for multiple driving offences, not multiple sexual assaults.
Labour MP Claudia Webbe is back in court this week for her appeal against conviction for threatening to throw acid in the face of a woman she was convinced was after her boyfriend and threatening her with revenge porn. Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott wrote character references for her.

2 MPs (a Lib Dem and Labour) went to prison after lying about who was driving when they got fined for speeding
1 MP (Tory) went to prison for rape
1 MP (Tory) recently convicted of sexually assaulting a 15 year old boy
1 MP (Scottish nationalist) was sent to prison for stealing donations made to the independence campaign
1 Scottish MSP (Nationalist) sent to prison for beating up all 3 of his wives at various points in the marriages
1 Welsh politician (Welsh nationalist) got a suspended sentence for downloading images of children being abused.
2 Welsh politicians (Tory and Welsh nationalist) were suspended from their parties for assaulting their wives, 1 wasn't allowed to stand again the other won't be allowed to stand again
There are more but they all blur into one after a while

R17, how can you forget Jeffrey Archer? He did 2 years for perjury and perverting the course of justice. Not entirely sure how Neil Hamilton stayed out of prison for all his awfulness either but I donāt think criminal charges were brought.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 18, 2022 7:42 AM |
Oh yes, Jeffrey Archer. Well he wasn't an elected member when sent to prison or convicted.
There are lots more cases which are covered up by friends in high places.
Carl Sargeant was a Welsh assembly member who killed himself after accusations were made about sexual misconduct by several women. Her was known to be a heavy drinker. The inquest into his death showed that his behaviour was well known and regularly discussed, that some people had discussed it as criminal, and that the family were aware of it, but details were not made public.
The PR campaign swung into action, Sargeant's 23 year old son was elected to replace him, and the First Minister who suspended Sargeant after the accusations were made received more criticism and scrutiny than Sargeant for HIS actions. The complaints about Sargeant were never followed up and the women who complained have never had an justice.

[quote]1 MP (Tory) recently convicted of sexually assaulting a 15 year old boy
As if this wasn't already bad enough, Khan being on a child sexual exploitation panel makes it even worse.
[quote]An MP found guilty this month of molesting a 15-year-old boy advised the government on child sexual exploitation while under police caution, the Guardian can disclose.
[quote]Imran Ahmad Khan, the then Conservative MP for Wakefield, joined an expert panel offering advice on grooming gangs and went on to contribute to a policy paper entitled āGroup-based child sexual exploitation characteristics of offendingā. He attended online meetings with the panel of sexual exploitation experts in July, September and November of 2020. Staffordshire police say he gave a written statement under caution in May 2020 addressing claims he had assaulted a minor. The disclosures raise serious questions for the government and the Home Office over why he was appointed to a panel addressing child protection while under police investigation.

Perverting the course of justice is a very serious criminal offence. In both cases the MPs got a speeding ticket and said that someone else had been driving to avoid a ban. Not that being banned for driving matters, the Welsh health minister was recently banned for speeding. But lying on legal declaration or under oath (see Jeffrey Archer and Jonathan Aitken) is taken very seriously.
And yes, downloading images of children being abused should result in a prison sentence.

^ Quite easily. The complainant is a politician, and this happened years ago when he was much younger and presumably trying to make an impression. There are lots of stories of young people being coerced because they fear the career consequences of saying ānoā.

Who are the two MPs fighting over a rent boy?:
One male backbencher told Insider about a recent instance where he was harassed by another male MP, to the extent that party whips had to intervene.
The stories run on, including one about a senior backbencher who sent inappropriate messages to a female staffer.
There is another about two MPs who, colleagues say, fell out because one of them "stole" the other's favourite "rent boy."

But that's not "rape."
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 27, 2022 8:15 PM |
Keith Vaz wasn't just a sex pest who used teenage prostitutes, he was absolutely corrupt - he was suspended twice from the House of Commons but MPs still kept voting him to be on the Home Affairs select committee.
As for Alex Salmond, he was cleared of criminal offences but what is indisputable is 1. multiple complaints about his bullying and sexual comments to women were received and logged by the party, 2. the civil service changed staffing arrangements so women were never left on their own with him 3. the civil servants didn't want to make the complaints public because it would impact on the referendum 4. Nicola Sturgeon claims didn't know anything about any allegations, meaning none of the women who complained about Salmond and went on to work for her when she became First Minister told her about Salmond, even when Salmond stood as a member of parliament less than a year later 5. Salmond had a tv show on Putin's Russia Today channel since 2017 and faced no sanction from the SNP for it.
