Jordan Peterson QUITS Twitter

Saying the abuse towards needs to STOP

“The endless flood of vicious insult is really not something that can be experienced anywhere else. I like to follow the people I know but I think the incentive structure of the platform makes it intrinsically and dangerously insane.”

by Anonymousreply 72May 20, 2022 4:57 AM

Maybe he'll off himself.

by Anonymousreply 1May 17, 2022 3:26 PM

Who?

by Anonymousreply 4May 17, 2022 3:32 PM

An accurate summation: Canadian psychologist turned anti-"snowflake" crusader Jordan Peterson is apparently quitting Twitter because he can't hack the consequences of his own shitposting on a public platform.

This is his pinned Tweet from 13 hours ago but his most recent post is from 2 hours ago.

It may be Twitter but this giant bitch baby is acting like it's LiveJournal.

"I am REALLY REALLY leaving this time *foot stomp*!!!"

by Anonymousreply 7May 17, 2022 3:50 PM

It just underlines how these anti-woke wars aren't really about freedom. Because if it were really about that, Peterson should be fine with people exercising their freedom to insult/boycott him.

It's a power struggle. What worldview gets to have the upper hand. That's what it's really about.

by Anonymousreply 8May 17, 2022 4:12 PM

He can't shut the fuck up (this time, I'm really leaving). Needs his password taken away. What a joke.

by Anonymousreply 9May 17, 2022 4:21 PM

[quote]Jordan Peterson's family says he has sought "emergency" drug detox treatment in Russia, after several failed attempts to overcome his dependence on a potent anti-anxiety medication. The controversial University of Toronto psychology professor and internationally famous self-help guru is said to have been in a Moscow hospital for the past month, recovering from both the "incredibly gruelling" treatment and a severe case of pneumonia. "He's had to spend four weeks in the ICU in terrible shape, but, with the help of some extremely competent and courageous doctors, he survived," his daughter Mikhaila Peterson said in an online video, posted Friday evening. "The uncertainty around his recovery has been one of the most difficult and scary experiences we've ever had."

I find it really interesting that his rehab was in *Russia*. Why Russia??? It makes me think that Russia has identified him as an useful idiot to potentially 'divide and conquer' the West and therefore heaped resources onto him.

by Anonymousreply 10May 17, 2022 4:26 PM

Yes, he's never had to explain why Russia was the only answer. He's Canadian and could have also sought treatment in the US. Also, suddenly, he's having no problems with benzos? He claimed only the Russians have the balls to do a certain kind of detox. Detox is only one step of treating addiction. If he truly kicked this benzo habit, he would be writing a book about it.

by Anonymousreply 11May 17, 2022 4:33 PM

He didn't quit, he was back tweeting this morning.

by Anonymousreply 12May 17, 2022 4:35 PM

The thing that gets me is that he really really suffered in the past few years with terrible health problems.

And yet he's still the same shitposting prick he always was. Zero empathy for anyone. Just a small, miserable asshole.

by Anonymousreply 13May 17, 2022 4:35 PM

[quote] intrinsically and dangerously insane

If he is an expert on any topic it’s that so…

by Anonymousreply 14May 17, 2022 4:50 PM

Bye, Felicia.

by Anonymousreply 15May 17, 2022 5:02 PM

A little off topic but is it true that barbiturates are used to withdraw from benzos nowadays. I think I heard an addiction specialist mention that, but maybe I misunderstood or misconstrued what he was saying. Anyone knows?

by Anonymousreply 16May 17, 2022 5:13 PM

Never in the history of the internet has a troll announced they were leaving a platform and then actually left it.

If they’re going to leave, they just leave, without announcing it.

by Anonymousreply 17May 17, 2022 5:42 PM

I’m Canadian. This fool is a true embarrassment to Canadians everywhere.

by Anonymousreply 18May 17, 2022 6:25 PM

I condole you, R18.

by Anonymousreply 19May 17, 2022 6:44 PM

[quote]Never in the history of the internet has a troll announced they were leaving a platform and then actually left it.

Yeah - some wordy Nazi on an abortion thread told me over and over and over and over that she was DONE with me and GOOD DAY SIR!!

Kept at it, though.

by Anonymousreply 20May 17, 2022 7:06 PM

Jordan Peterson looks like the Christopher Lloyd villain in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" so he's certainly no one who should be commenting on anyone's looks.

by Anonymousreply 24May 17, 2022 9:27 PM

R4 Sorry but Hasan Piker aka Hasan a bi isn't really the one you should use to call out problematic behavior! I think they would both make a great couple because they suit eacher other. Hasan x Peterson = Problematic millenial daddy relationship.

I've never heard a syllable out of his mouth, but YT insists I watch him "destroy" someone and yet I couldn't give less of a shit what he has to say. Is he the one who goes on and on about men being emasculated?

And like a little bitch, he quit twitter because he can't handle...words...on a screen?

by Anonymousreply 26May 17, 2022 9:34 PM

R18 isn't Ryan Rehnolds Canadian too? Does that mean he has foreskin because he is French?

by Anonymousreply 27May 17, 2022 9:47 PM

More farewell tours than Cher.

by Anonymousreply 28May 17, 2022 9:49 PM

Fuck that creep.

[quote]“The endless flood of vicious insult is really not something that can be experienced anywhere else. I like to follow the people I know but I think the incentive structure of the platform makes it intrinsically and dangerously insane.”

Translation: "I can dish it out but am too delicate a flower to take it."

by Anonymousreply 30May 17, 2022 9:56 PM

I dont understand why he felt compelled to comment on her appearance looking like he does. But that's the kind of cunts men are.

by Anonymousreply 31May 17, 2022 9:58 PM

His benzo "detox" in Russia was an eight-day medically-induced coma; cut "Dr." Peterson some slack, he may be brain damaged now.

by Anonymousreply 32May 17, 2022 10:12 PM

Jordan Peterson, like Bill Maher, is a thought need who I need to follow!

by Anonymousreply 33May 17, 2022 10:13 PM

*thought leader

by Anonymousreply 34May 17, 2022 10:14 PM

The people who post here are joyless, unproductive, miserable half-witts. You people are picked by hatred. You find something wrong with everything and everyone. He thinks twitter is bad. Is he wrong? Jesus Christ.

by Anonymousreply 35May 17, 2022 10:39 PM

He's not wrong that Twitter is bad, but he's wrong for picking on a model and then being a cry-baby when he was called out.

by Anonymousreply 36May 17, 2022 10:42 PM

I love that this miserable junkie decided to pick on a fat person on Twitter, then all of Fat Twitter basically sat on him until he ran off scared.

by Anonymousreply 37May 17, 2022 10:43 PM

You'd think a manly stoic like him could shake off the whining of pathetic SJWs (the wimps who need a safe space and a participation trophy).

by Anonymousreply 38May 17, 2022 11:06 PM

[quote]The people who post here are joyless, unproductive, miserable half-witts[sic]. You people are picked by hatred. You find something wrong with everything and everyone. He thinks twitter is bad. Is he wrong? Jesus Christ.

He's an ugly man inside and out who decided he was going to shit on a magazine cover and you two delicate flowers think no one is allowed to respond to him being a bitch? And then running off because he couldn't handle someone shitting on him and his looks?

That's who you assholes are. You want to be able to say whatever the fuck you want about anyone you want and no one is allowed to ever say shit right back to you. That's why Bill Maher is another little bitch. He can't handle criticism, that's why he'll bring on parasites like Bannon and Shapiro, but would never bring on people to challenge his idiocy.

by Anonymousreply 39May 18, 2022 1:50 AM

[quote]The people who post here are joyless, unproductive, miserable half-witts. You people are picked by hatred. You find something wrong with everything and everyone.

What the fuck? So do you. That's ALL you do on here.

by Anonymousreply 40May 18, 2022 1:55 AM

I like Jordan Peterson and think he has a lot of good ideas. His 12 Rules for Life really helped me figure out some strategies for dealing with difficult issues. It seems that this opinion is a minority one here, but I am glad his ideas came my way. Let's face it. Nobody is perfect.

by Anonymousreply 41May 18, 2022 2:56 AM

His daughter had the phenomenally stupid idea of putting him on an all-meat diet to cure his benzo addiction, and Mr. PhD agreed! And then, when his health deteriorated (naturally), she insisted that only doctors in Russia had the skills to treat him.

The whole family is deranged.

by Anonymousreply 42May 18, 2022 3:34 AM

Yeah, he sounds like the kind of person you'd want to define normal behavior for you.

by Anonymousreply 43May 18, 2022 3:36 AM

R8 This is very true. I have my own serious reservations about woke/ cancel culture or whatever you want to call it. But this deluge of pearl clutching op eds from prestige outlets about the intolerant woke brigade has become tiresome. I'm old enough to remember when almost every single professional opinion maker in media came from the same wealthy heterosexual white east coast background. And shared almost identical views that were published weekly in places like the NYT, WaPo, etc. And nobody seemed too concerned about how one type of voice and life experience dominated conversation about everything from politics to literature to pop culture. Now that other people *sometimes* dominate the conversation, people like Andrew Sullivan can't stop complaining about what a threat this is.

Tell us what helped you, Andy.

by Anonymousreply 45May 18, 2022 8:15 AM

R16 No, using barbiturates to detox from benzos is considered an unsafe practice and I have never seen it done. I was at UCLA in the early 2000s for residency and it was never done there and then I was at Betty Ford for a while and it was never used there. It is considered too high risk and that is why this odious man had to go to Russia, which remains the wild west of medicine.

I guess Peterson forgot that most Americans are overweight and that SI model represents the average American woman. 1 out of 4 Canadians are obese as well.

by Anonymousreply 46May 18, 2022 10:19 AM

by Anonymousreply 49May 18, 2022 11:44 AM

The thing is, if you are a Blue Check Mark on Twitter you can change your settings to only see tweets from other Blue Check Marks and thus avoid all the nasty comments

But he knew that, just wanted to "shift the narrative" from "JP is mean to fat woman" to "Twitter is mean to JP"

by Anonymousreply 50May 18, 2022 11:53 AM

He's living proof that the "freedom of speech" brigade on social media really just wants freedom from consequences.

by Anonymousreply 51May 18, 2022 6:02 PM

He is a wuss, pure and simple.

No one expects perfection (well, DL does, but that's a wholly separate issue).

Peterson's original thesis regarding pronouns and legislating language would have fit right in on DL.

The big however is that that idea also snugly fits within a broader ideology that the MAGA idiots believe and he became their hero. In turn, his ideas began pandering further and further right and conservative across a much broader spectrum of topics.

That notwithstanding, he's a douchenozzle and crybaby.

by Anonymousreply 53May 18, 2022 11:28 PM

Fuck off, R35. The man is a joke.

He goes and posts that he would never find the overweight woman on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue attractive. Fine.

As one might expect, he got a barrage of messages saying that he was no great shakes in the looks department himself. She's such a snowflake himself, he declares he's quitting twitter because of it.

But he kept tweeting. And tweeting. It couldn't stop. In fact, if you look back, the man appears to do hundreds of tweets a day. And now he's unable to stop. It's fucking HYSTERICAL that Mr. Rational - Mr. Pragmatic Common Sense, is so fucking unhinged.

Also, lots of his fans actually said 'Hey, my wife/girlfriend looks like that woman on the cover of SI, and I think she's hot."

The man is a fucking disaster, and a joke. I love that HE'S the intellectual hero of Trumpville. Just another scumbag.

by Anonymousreply 54May 19, 2022 12:00 AM

OH- forgot to say, Jordan Peterson is a piece of shit, too.

Jordan Peterson doesn't know his own audience. Straight men love thick women. How embarrassing to not only be ratioed by people he calls "woke", but by his own fans.

by Anonymousreply 65May 19, 2022 11:40 AM

Just out of curiosity: Why would I want to be lectured by someone who speaks of weakness or society's demise when he had a drug problem? I've had a lot of shit happen in my life and I never turned to drugs. Mind you, I'm not putting down people who've had drug problems. I'm putting down the ones who turn into him. The douchebags who've failed in their own lives and then turn around to lecture and shit on others.

by Anonymousreply 66May 19, 2022 5:16 PM

R66 I agree, I think it's a good rule to never look up to anyone as a kind of guru if they are clearly unhealthy and can't practise what they preach.

by Anonymousreply 67May 19, 2022 5:25 PM

R44 the new opinion makers are still from the upper socioeconomic classes, or at least pass through their credentialed horse stalls so the shrill preaching to the rest of us hasn't really changed except for surface gloss, and now anyone that doesn't want to be preached at by privileged idiots is now called "bigot" or "racist" of some kind.

How convenient that the upper classes have built themselves such an unassailable protection layer in their propaganda outlets.

by Anonymousreply 68May 19, 2022 5:33 PM

He's entitled to his opinions, and some of them are not much different than any average joe on the street.

But if he positions himself as some sort of expert or holds himself up as a paragon, he can't also expect not to be criticized.

by Anonymousreply 69May 19, 2022 5:38 PM

Ok, comrade @R68.
