Lisa Marie Presley posts about new Elvis movie
Hello, I haven’t posted in quite some time because there really isn’t much to say, as I'm and will forever be mourning the loss of my son. Navigating through this hideous grief that absolutely destroyed & shattered my heart and my soul into almost nothing has swallowed me whole.
However, that being said, I do want to take a moment to let you know that I've seen Baz Luhrmann's movie “Elvis” twice now. Let me tell you that it is nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely exquisite. Austin Butler channeled and embodied my father’s heart & soul beautifully.

In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY done accurately and respectfully. (If he doesn’t get an Oscar for this, I will eat my own foot, haha.)
You can feel and witness Baz’s pure love, care, and respect for my father throughout this beautiful film, and it is finally something that myself and my children and their children can be proud of forever.
What moved me to tears as well was watching Riley and Harper, and Finley afterwards, all 3 visibly overwhelmed in the best way possible way, and so filled with pride about their grandfather and his legacy in a way that I have not previously experienced.
It breaks my heart that my son isn’t here to see it. He would have absolutely loved it as well. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this film and I hope you love it too. Everyone involved poured their hearts and souls into it, which is evidenced in their performances.
Baz, your utter genius combined with your love and respect for my father and this project is just so beautiful and so inspiring. I know I'm being repetitive, but I don’t care, Thank you for setting the record straight in such a deeply profound and artistic way. Love you ~LMP

Buy Elvis crapola. Make us money... I bet the film doesn’t show much reality. Which is why she loves it. She’s a drug addict mess.

I’m kind of impressed by her deft pivot.

I assume she's an executive producer.

My dad helped Elvis hide from a screaming mob of fans in the 1950s. Hopefully, this will be lovingly documented as well.

The movie is apparently nearly three hours long.

I have no earthly idea why I have such a soft spot for old Lisa Marie, but I do. I was 5 when her dad died, and I remember my own mother crying about it with her college roommate (we were at her house at the time).

Is she still a Scientologist?

She’s in, she’s out. Last I heard she was out.

She didn't lack money or fame, yet she married you-know-who. One of the strangest moments in pop culture.

I like the song “someone turned the light out there in Memphis”

It now costs $75 to tour Graceland. Oy!

I used to think Priscilla was bullshitting about being able to feel Elvis's spirit in that house. I now believe her. It is either his spirit or he really left his energy imprinted on that house.

I toured Graceland and it is, indeed, gaudily decorated. I'll leave it at that.
But, I defy anybody to look at the many walls, covered ceiling to floor, with Gold Records and not be impressed.
It's truly majestic to see.

I toured Graceland by myself on a cross-country trip with an overnight stop in Memphis. I almost got kicked out because I had a disposable camera (pre-cellphone) with a flash that couldn’t be turned off. First I got a warning, then I tried covering the flash with my thumb, but it was still obvious and I got yelled at.
Overall, I was very underwhelmed. It’s not really a huge house. It’s big, but I had friends that lived in comparably sized houses. Granted they didn’t have adjacent “awards” buildings and all the other stuff, but the house itself is kinda small with small rooms. I was expecting something much more grand, maybe on the scale of the the Louisiana plantations where rooms had to be huge with sky high ceilings to abate the heat.
The jungle room, as audacious as it is, wasn’t much bigger than my family’s living room. Even the pool seemed tiny.
Maybe it seemed small because so much. was roped off, but there was just way too much furniture and it all seemed cramped and tiny.

She didn’t care about Elvis - until she ran out of money. Apparently the ONLY major revenue source they haven’t sold is Graceland - so now Lisa Marie makes regular appearances there and hypes it up. It’s ALL about staving off bankruptcy - nothing to do with love or respect for her similarly drug addled father. Addicts don’t love - they just need.

I feel bad for her. Obviously she loved her son dearly— perhaps he was the Band-Aid for the tragedy of her father, only for it to happen again to her son. She may be trash with money, but the death of a child before the parent is one of the hardest things a person can endure.
