RIP Trump International, DC’s Wildest Hotel

The Trump International Hotel Washington DC, age six years, attempted to fade away quietly on the night of May 11, 2022 (sadly for the Trump family, there’s no way Twitter was going to let that happen). Its passing was proceeded by years of complications and a final, lethal $375 million sale to a Miami investor group, who will reincarnate the hotel as a Waldorf-Astoria.

Its sign came down last night.

It will be missed.

It took over the Old Post Office Pavilion, a landmark building on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Everything Trump touches turns to shit.

People will love it now that it is a Waldorf-Astoria. That building is one of the most beautiful in DC.

Is there enough sage in the world to cleanse the place of the negative energy?

Don’t be too smug…the Diapered Overlord made $50M on the deal.

That building hosted a circuit party during the March on Washington in 1993.

I should know - I was there.

Ha!

I remember that march, R6. I literally (still) have the T-shirt!

by Anonymousreply 7May 14, 2022 1:05 AM

I wonder if I knew r6 and r7 in 1993.

Interesting how once Trump lost the presidency, all the foreign dignitaries stopped going to that specific hotel.

by Anonymousreply 9May 14, 2022 1:54 AM

When there was a government shutdown under Trump, he made sure the government employee that escorted visitors up the hotel tower (which is govt property) was made an “essential employee.”

That fool and his money are always soon parted.
