The plug has been pulled on the reimagining of the glitzy 1980s soap after much initial success.
Nicollette Simpson was fired after the first season because she was so impossible to work with.

surprised they never tried to bring back Steven

It was never that successful in the US, even for CW standards. It did fair a bit better on streaming and was marketable in other parts of the world where soaps perform better. If not for those factors, it probably wouldn't have gone past season 1. They've also surpassed the 100 episode mark for a decent syndication deal.

It was a lot of fun.

Warner Bros and Paramount are trying to unload the CW. A bunch of shit got canceled.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 13, 2022 3:32 PM |
I thought it was awful and looked cheap. I did like Liz Gillies and I thought they did a better job of writing Fallon than the original did, which took the same character and neutered her. And Adam Huber... will always be grateful for the sight of him.

Wow, season 3 averaged 500,000 viewers. I can't believe it was canceled then!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 13, 2022 3:33 PM |
they also messed up turning Steven into the butler's son

Poor Grant!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 13, 2022 3:47 PM |
R8 Poor Grant needs to take his shirt off more. She can still rock a tight T or a Speedo. After Nicolette left they should have cast Grant’s wife Katherine Hopper Lanassa as Alexis. She did a story arc as a villainess which was more Alexis than Alexis.

R1 what about Nathalie? What was her deal?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 13, 2022 4:59 PM |
R7 Exactly even the lowest rated daytime soap averages at least three times the number of viewers. I never liked the show because it was a remake or reimagining instead of a sequel. Also, they never had Joan Collins appear and she was the entire reason to watch Dynasty.

r11 Yes I seem to recall Joan Collins was not very happy about the remake.

r10 He's definitely a bit of a dilf!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 13, 2022 10:23 PM |
r13 Entire reason? Not some of the sexy men too like Michael Nader and John James?

John James

Who the hell was Nicollette Simpson?

r18 And Maxwell Caulfield?

The original became a hit in large part due to Joan Collins arrival. She turned the show from a watchable night time television soap opera into a cultural defining moment of the 1980's.
NO ONE today has that kind of star power, that kind of aura that makes people watch in droves.

Grant Show is 60! He looks good for 60. I mean, he looks like he's 60, but a damn good 60.
Funny. If you had asked me whether he was the right age to play Blake Carrington 5 years ago, my first thought would have been that he's too young, isn't he?
But realistically, Forsythe was 63 when he did the original, and these days, 55 is probably not that far off the mark for how old a person like that would actually be.

I'm so relieved. Now they can do a proper reboot with the original continuity and bring back Joan as Alexis.

I love the finale! Grateful they got rid of Adam, and brought Stephen home!!

how in hell did this shit show last that long ?????
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 19, 2022 9:53 AM |
^Because it was wonderful!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 19, 2022 9:59 AM |
Once you divorced yourself from thinking it's anything like the original, the show was a lot of fun. And the only soap on primetime tv.
I saw every episode. The finale was pretty awesome.

I didn’t even know this was on.

R5 lmao Ruby looks so awkward next to Dougray.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 19, 2022 11:27 AM |
R23 Joan Collins is almost 90. John Forsythe is dead Linda is almost 80. There is no proper Dynasty reboot coming.

What is happening with Sam Underwood (Adam Carrimgton)? He always pinged to me. I know he’s married to an actress named Valorie Curry who came out as pansexual, but awhile ago, he deleted his Instagram and his wife never posts any photos of the, together anymore. Also, he has some jack off videos that leaked.

Nicollette Sheridan was the best

Who was the cunt on set? I never saw as many cast members come and go and sudden recastings. Clearly someone was making it an impossible work environment.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 19, 2022 12:01 PM |
^ It was Mrs. Gunnarsson. Many thought she ran the kitchen, but that cunt ran the entire manor.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 19, 2022 12:35 PM |
R21, who knew Joan Collins had it back then? When she came on to Dynasty she was a has-been, unknown to anyone under 40.

R31 link to Sam Underwood jack off video NOW!
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 22, 2022 10:02 AM |
I saw some clips, all I know is the woman in OP's photo was too young to pull the part off.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 22, 2022 10:18 AM |
R36, they are in the Drive whose name cannot be mentioned.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 22, 2022 10:47 AM |
R36, I don’t know if it’s still there, but I found it in the Sam Underwood thread at lpsg.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | September 23, 2022 5:14 AM |
So who was the hottest male cast member?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | September 23, 2022 2:47 PM |
Rafael de La Fuente (Sam) imho
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 23, 2022 4:51 PM |
R37, what part do you think she was too young to pull off? She was great as Fallon and a laugh as Alexis but that was just some hail Mary to make up for Sheridan's sudden departure.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 23, 2022 4:53 PM |
I liked season 1 but it fell apart after that, I was hatewatching more than anything. Storylinescwent nowhere, no character development whatsoever. The formula was: main characters throw a party, supporting characters get some silly B-plots, palely rehash OG Dynasty themes, Liz Gillies gets to sing; rinse & repeat. Having said that, the finale was excellent. If only the rest of the series had measured up to it.

r43 Was it better than the new Dallas which was a continuation of the story years later rather than a remake?
