r13 The pace is off. The cinematography is kind of annoying. It feels more limiting than when they had to work with less. It's not so outloud funny as aiming for surreal and absurdist. It has all the feels of nostalgic reboot which is where it falters.. it's like 2 minute sketch that is way too drawn out and the returning characters, thus far, seem shells of themselves. Still, I'm surprised it's not just a revival of their famous sketches. Not as much gay content - albeit, I'd hate if it was Buddy Cole x10. B.C. falls flat but the Queen Elizabeth hasn't aged a day.

From what I've watched so far... it's so-so. but I'd recommend it to elders to torture their naughty twinks with.

Aside from all this, this season is very, very funny. Glad to have them back!

r24 it doesn't matter how many decades apart. It falls short of previous seasons.

Also adding the filler from celebs in the middle was.. out of place.

When I say the scenes run too long... it's because the skits, the scripts, are just poor. So, it feels like they're just adding filler. And the pacing is off. The camera direction make it worse.

So, it's higher equality production but lower quality KITH. There are a couple skits that work but most of them fall flat -- riding a bicycle it's not. . . it feels like they have their training wheels on.

It's like they combined the worst parts of Briain Candy and Death Comes To Town and tried to play them off as shorter irreverent skits.. and they just don't work that way. So, it's like do one or the other. Don't label this Kids in The Hall when it can barely hold a candle to itself.

Wow. That was a quick binge. I thought it was mostly great. Got a bit chocked up at the beginning of the Kathie and Cathy skit in the first episode.

The Kevin McDonald skit where it turns out he trapped Dave Foley in a skit could've made a great True Detective spoof where it's a mystery who has trapped who and getting the other cast members involved as well. Loved the skit where Kevin plays a wife who finds out her husband just sold their home because of an off-hand remark she made.

Is it just me or could Bruce McCulloch be Jason Sudeikis' dad, or at least play him, in some movie or TV show (like Ted Lasso)? Something about the jaw line and the mouth in a certain angle.

They still manage to create fun ladies, like Scott Thompson's Francesca in episode 5.

I went to a high school in the west part of Toronto from 2001 to 2003. Didn't see one cut penis in the showers/locker room. Not French and I doubt many were catholic adjacent.

Watched two episodes and am just not feeling it.

I LIVED for KitH during junior high/high school so I wanted to love it. Oh well.

This new season is way too short. It's so short, I had to rewatch The Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town.

I think it's brilliant so far. The Glory Hole sketch was awesome. I'm assuming Thompson wrote some or all of it. It's genuinely absurd and funny, and it's an example of how to do comedy with gay content. For all the straight male comedy writers who keep exclaiming that they'll be "canceled" for something they wrote.

The prolonged frontal male nudity IS THE POINT folks. They have almost no restrictions on their content now. They're absurdists. I read a review last night and the writer was exclaiming how much they have always loved KITH and their "style" of comedy. Then they write about the nudity & the Zoom sketch, and are all, "ummmm that was really weird, what was the point of all that blah blah..." THERE WAS NO POINT besides being absolutely ridiculous.

I love that they have no restrictions. Male nudity is really funny when done right. They did it.

I've seen a lot of "revivals" over the past few years and this is the only one that I've enjoyed and found successful. I hope they do another season. And I love that Paul Bellini does interviews in his towel in the documentary.

They showed a lot of dick in this one.
