James Olson Dies: ‘Rachel, Rachel’, ‘The Andromeda Strain’ Actor Was 91

He was family.

Both he and Howard Rollins should have won Oscars for [italic]Ragtime.[/italic] Their performances were pitch-perfect; they were searingly, achingly beautiful.

I know him best from his role as a Nazi spy in the first season of Wonder Woman. I believe that episode was the first time she threw her tiara as a weapon!

"The Andromeda Strain" is a great movie. Directed by Robert Wise of "West Side Story", "The Sound Of Music" and "The Day The Earth Stood Still". Olson is great in it as is teh whole cast including Paula Kelly. See it, but make sure it's letterboxed.

I just watched "Rachel, Rachel" on TCM last night, and damn, he was sexy.

I always got gay vibes from this one. He made a good telefilm with one of my least favorite actresses, Shirley Jones called THE FAMILY NOBODY WANTED. Even as a man of the cloth, I thought he was “special” a private term I used as a kid for gay.

I love "The Andromeda Strain." Just a fun sick day movie. Well, kinda...

Rewatching the original Andromeda Strain. Interestingly enough, in the 2008 remake, the similar single "odd man out" character is gay.
