I have the turkey neck thing going on and I have these lines going from the sides of my nose to my mouth. I am to have just the gentlest of lifts done in about a year or two, but for now I’m wondering if Botox would help. Certainly the results won’t be as good as a lift, and it would have to be renewed occasionally, but as a temporary measure? The info I find online isn’t very reliable because it comes from cosmetic places looking to make a buck. I find the info online from hospital cosmetic surgery centers to be very sparse.

I'm very experienced with this, and no, Botox won't do anything for what you describe (by turkey neck do you mean loose, hanging skin? Then, no.)
The nasolabial folds around your mouth can see great improvement with a filler, such as Juvederm.
Turkey neck will require neck/lower face lift.

Botox, not Bowtox. JSYK

No, Botox is good for your forehead and crows feet around eyes (in some cases) but it won't do anything for nasolabial folds or a neck, at least not in my experience.

Fillers can help lessen the nasolabial folds.

“The gentlest of lifts”….honey, if you have a Turkey neck, that horse has left the barn. You must be ancient or have been rode hard and put away wet. I don’t know what dream world you’re living in, and I hope the surgeon you pick is a wizard.

I suggest high collars and chokers of pearls, and a veil, OP.
Because while you're staring into your hand mirror the rest of the world is shocked at your gunt, sloppy ass and cankles.

R1 is correct, but I prefer Restylane.

R6 Op here. By the gentlest of lifts I mean I’m not going to try to look like in 25 again like some pathetic Real Housewife. I want to look like a man my age, just better. I would not mind people knowing I had work done, but if I look like I had work done, then I’ve gone too far.

R6….I’d stress the importance of a good neck lift, and lower face lift. I had both at age 48, pre-emptivly, and it was the smartest decision I’ve ever made….I don’t drink or smoke, I’m almost 60. My work has held up REAL WELL. I paid 16 grand and would do it all over again. How old are you? I didn’t have a Turkey neck then, and I don’t have one now. Choose your dr wisely.

Irish Botox. It's made from potato mold.

Platysmaplasty….if that doesn’t do it, get some large breast implants to distract from your neck…

I had prominent nasolabial fold lines for years. One round of Juvederm, back in 2017, along with being conscious about using Retin-A regularly, and they’ve not come back. I’m now 50. My neck is on the chopping block next, so to speak. I inherited my dad’s turkey neck and I plan to get a light lift this fall. Good luck!

R11 I’ve been wondering about that. Isn’t there some web site where we can post our pics then link to DL?

Sadly it looks like lower face lift is the only real option that works, i hope not to come out of it looking like a freak show. Or maybe i will start looking into ascots.

I suggest the famous Joan Kron book “LIFT”. I wrote to her expressing my concerns as a male, and her advice was crystal clear. MEN HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL….

As someone who got a facelift at age 37 (!!!) to correct loose skin in my lower face (genetics, not from weight loss), I can attest that it will cause scarring. Especially if you have short or no hair. Women typically wear their hair long enough to cover these scars, which start at the front of the ear, go up and around to the back of the ear.
I also can't wear sideburns anymore, because my beard now starts at the front of my ears. Normally, men have about a finger's width of hairless skin between the ear and where the beard starts. That gap was removed when they pulled the face tighter. It's not a huge deal but I do sometimes get ingrown hairs inside and behind my ears.
Would I do it again? Yes. I looked so much better than I did. But now, 15 years later, I'm sagging again and could use another one plus a neck lift. But I don't know how that will affect my scarring from before.

Interesting. I never noticed that before.
