Mary Trump Calls Susan Sarandon “a complete idiot” and “a moron”

[quote]Susan Sarandon is one of the idiots who lost us the 2016 election.
That theory suggests Sarandon has more influence than she actually does.
She's an ignorant, entitled rich celebrity who isn't remotely affected by any of the "revolutions" she supports.
She was still talking about Trump positively after he was elected.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 10, 2022 9:02 AM |
Mary Trump is usually right about, well, everything. I have no reason to doubt her now
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 10, 2022 10:36 AM |
I'm very critical of the Democratic party too. Its their failing that has bred the monstrosities rearing their heads in the country and holding it at ransom.
I don't think Sarandon is wrong except she is not toeing the party line drawn by the liberal centrist or center right majority.

People who are mad at Sarandon for helping to throw the election to Trump are angry at the political punditry machine that Sarandon is part of.
Don't be a boor and get overly literal here. "Sarandon herself doesn't have any influence." Okay, fine, but you know she went on Fox and a bunch of other news shows, you know she went to the primaries, you know she was on Twitter every day spending hours pushing propaganda, you know she was made into one hundred thousand gifs that were passed along as soundbites about "not voting with your vagina" and "Hillary is a warmonger" and all that.
She was part of the huge leftist anti-Democratic Party propaganda machine, and that's what people are mad about.
If you can't understand that, it's because you're stupid.

R6 I remember her ex, Tim Robbins, who is also very liberal, tried to plea in vain with her to be supportive of Hillary, of whom both had always been quite critical, Tim did see the whole picture and went from criticizing Hillary to endorsing her 100% in the last few months. of the race.

Oh I agree with that. The same way many on the left in Britain argue that Tony Blair's Labour Party was no different to the Conservatives repeatedly makes it easier for the Tories. It's the drip drip drip effect.
But singling out Sarandon which many people do overstates her importance - she was individually no more influential than other dickheads Dean Cain or Scott Baio in the pro Trump base.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 10, 2022 11:09 AM |
Conservatives pay absolutely no attention to Susan Sarandon, of all people. Even Bernie Sanders supporters tune her out.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 10, 2022 11:13 AM |
Sue Cunt Sarandon was the idiotic annihilator of democracy. She didn't singlehandedly bring down Hillary's candidacy, but she helped chip away the votes in battleground states where a few thousand votes were a matter of winning or losing.
Yes, she certainly has no needs for an abortion now so she doesn't give a fuck about the overturn of the Roe decision. Well, fuck her dried-up cunt!

Bullshit. Sanders supporters directly pointed to her. It gave them cover for their misogyny. They could say, "Look, Saranadon doesn't support Clinton and she is a well-known feminist. That proves we aren't misogynists!"
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 10, 2022 11:24 AM |
Didn't Sue campaign for Jill Steinova, the Russian agent, in 2016? But where the fuck is Jill now? Isn't she concerned about the future of abortion? Is she still hiding in Moscow?

If anyone bases his or her vote on what a celebrity/actor/actress/tv personality says, he and she are morons.
Mary Trump is right about Susan Sarandon, but the criticism that Sarandon makes about the Democrats sitting on their hands is right, too.
I'm a Democrat. I would never vote Republican, because they have gone after my rights as a gay man and gone after the rights of others (Blacks, women, trans, and various minority groups). I'm a centrist who leans conservative on a great many issues, but...
The Democrats ought to deploy AOC and deploy her hard. She's young, intelligent, personable, relatable, and has ideas. Do I support her leftist agenda wholeheartedly? Hell no! But as she gains momentum and seeks higher office she will move to the center. But she can attract younger people, minority groups, women, and others. And when Republicans hit back at her...Give them better than what they give her.
Focus on rights being taken from us.
And focus on an economic recovery plan. Bring back Biden's plan that was defeated by Republicans. Tell voters the only way that plan will work is that you vote for us.

Mmm hmm.
The only way abortion could become a federal right is through a series of events that starts with eliminating the filibuster. Manchin and Sinema have refused, repeatedly.
This is not a "Democrats are sitting on their hands" situation, it's a situation where the right-leaning Dems are causing the problems.
You're also a right-leaning Dem, you said so yourself. But gosh, it's just never the fault of people like you, is it?
Put the blame where it lies, stop doing the "I'd never vote Repug BUT" crap, and then maybe we'll listen to you.

I remain baffled as to why DL's Hillbots focus the bulk of their vitriol on the 100 thousand or so uber-leftists who either didn't vote or voted for Jill Stein six year ago, and not on the 60+ million people who ACTUALLY VOTED FOR TRUMP and all the people who enabled them.
Why you seem to think that Sarandon, a C-list actor who may have influenced a dozen or so people at most is far more culpable than Tucker Carlson or Laura Ingraham is truly baffling.
Because given that Trump was the opponent, that election should not have been close. And it was people like Carlson who helped to turn the white working class on to Trump and got millions of them to go out and vote for the very first time in years.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 10, 2022 12:05 PM |
^^Or Peter Thiel. A gay man who has spent tens of millions of dollars to elect right wing Trumpist candidates like JD Vance.
Surely he is far more of a menace that Susan Sarandon
Yet our Hillbots are only concerned with relitigating 2016, putting hexes on Bernie Sanders and his minions and finding new and unique people to blame for what will be remembered as one of the worst-run presidential campaigns in US history.
In their defense, I suspect many of them live with and/or are close friends with the sorts of ultra-leftists who did not vote for Hillary, which is why the whole notion continues to stick in their craws.
As opposed to the rest of us, who only know of such ultra-leftists anecdotally.

We are lost for a generation. While the Republicans were training their best and brightest in elite law schools through the evil Federalist society machine, we painstakingly focused on an incoherent cancellation program through social media.
We need to build a new party starting with high schoolers that focuses on statecraft, not publicity.

So your definition of best and brightest includes academic luminaries and noted scholars such as Donald Trump, Lauren "I'm a high school drop out and proud of it" Boebert, Madison "bottom of his class at Bible School" Cawthorn, Matt Gaetz, Gym "I like to wrestle) Jordan and Marjorie Greene. That's quite a brain trust there. Their collective IQs probably reach well into the low 100s. And where do they keep all of their Nobel and Pulitzer Prizes?

That could be applied to early 1970s "revolutionary" Jane Fonda as well. Nobody in the antiwar movement took the gibberish that came out of Fonda's mouth seriously, even Tom Hayden. Today her actions are given way too much weight, she was considered a clownish embarrassment by serious anti Vietnam vets and objectors. Same with Sarandon. And if the person who likes to say about Fonda "she was right," she was one among thousands and thousands who wanted to end the war.

R4's cunt is inside out and pulled down over her heard.
Political parties being what they are, there is plenty of trouble to complain about with the Democrats.
But at a critical time in America, POLITICS is what needs to be used. Claiming a purity cult on the left is the same as doing it for the right. And all progress in the USA has been and has had to be incremental because a third of the citizens still want a return to slavery and executions of gay people and another third just want to have an easy, rich life without inconvenience.
WE CAN SMELL YOUR CUNTS HERE, you divisive loons. And Sarandon is an irrational know-it-all poser who has been so stoned for the last 30 years (nothing wrong with that, usually) she thinks her shit is candy.

R2 to be fair, I think she was saying that people will get so miserable under trump, life so intolerable, that they will finally be moved to do something about it. It’s a core tenant of other actual socialists I know - they want things to get so bad for the people that they rise up and overthrow the current power system, replacing it with “of the people” socialism. It’s an odd moral stance, pushing/hoping for people to experience more profound suffering in order to get to the “morally superior” system. But that’s what she’s shelling. Trust us, everything will be better ;)
