My parents went to boarding school and so did I. My spouse did not and instead was a day student. I always thought when I had kids, they’d attend as boarders as well but many houses are being supervised by people too afraid to properly discipline errant behavior because of the power/wealth of the parents.

At this point, you send your kids to boarding school at your own peril.

All i know is poor Freddie was sent there and It affected him growing up to some degree. But we did get a brilliant musician out of him.

So maybe that counts for something.

They keep on producing people like Boris Johnson and David Cameron, who have no idea how ordinary people live. Also boarding schools attract paedophile teachers.

My mother went to boarding school as did my brother and I. Wouldn't trade that experience for anything. Note: these schools were not in the USA.

I went an Ivy where a huge percentage came from top boarding schools.

About half were utterly insane.

None were particularly brilliant—has much more to do with how much money the parents have than brilliance of the child.
