I'm going to grow potatoes in a bag and this cutie inspired me!

I'm have a new garage built this year so much of my garden will be out of commission for much of the season.

Op, I've always wanted to know how to do what you did with your link.

How do you link a youtube video, and have it play at the exact mark that you want it to play?

In this case, your video started at about the 7 min mark.

Care to share?

PS, he really is super adorable.

I love a gardening nerd. The fact that he's cute makes it even better!

Isn't he adorable, R2??

I have no idea, R1. I googled how to grow potatoes in a bad and shared the video here because he's so cute.

If he lost the moustache, he'd be even cuter.

I have these bags on the gravel next to my home. However, mine are full of flower bulbs for all seasons. If I ever have to get rid of them, I just throw the whole bag in the bin and no digging up the yard.

OP is one step closer to joining Nicholas Fairford's Patreon. It starts with potatoes, OP. It ends up in Bridgerton.

Look!!! Another cute potato guy!

Who knew?!

I put my seed potatoes in a window that gets a lot of sun but they haven't really sprouted. Any tips from DL gardeners?

will you be moving onto plastic bin worm composting for composting tea?

I always felt like potatoes were so dang inexpensive, why would I want to waste my time growing them. Unless you have unlimited garden spaced I would grow something more expensive. I also like seeing vegetables grow and with potatoes you don't really see the progress.

I love this idea, but a huge bag of potatoes is about $5 and I don't think I've ever heard someone's saying "you've never had a potato until you've had a home-grown potato."

Does he have a strawberry or tomato video you could follow? It might be a more rewarding endeavor, not for savings, but for flavor.

by Anonymousreply 13May 11, 2022 5:30 PM

No video, but I am growing tomatoes in similar type bag (though bigger - you can get bigger one at Gardeners Supply Company); the info I read recommended growing cherry tomatoes in bags. I guess because of the deep roots, regular tomato plants don't do as well.

My grandparents came to this country so that I would not have to grow potatoes in bags.
