I was walking on the Boardwalk in Daytona Beach and found this homemade Salt Water Taffy shop. I has been there over 75+ years and has more gourmet flavors that Jellybelly. Anybody like taffy?

There used to be some good shit in P'town. Haven't been there in a long time, though.

It looks delicious but I've got too many crowns to chance it.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 6, 2022 10:32 PM |
I can't eat that crap. It pulls my fillings out.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 6, 2022 10:32 PM |
the crowd here might enjoy salty loads but most of them can't afford dentures.. so taffy is out.

I absolutely love it! A friend of mine visited Pismo Beach and brought me some from there. I did not like all the flavors. But what I did like was delicious!

You lost me with "daytona beach."
Fuck floriduh!

I love taffy, but worry about my teeth. However, I have found I can freeze the taffy, then suck it and it work fine.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 6, 2022 10:36 PM |
I love the stuff. My favorite flavors are the citrus flavors plus vanilla and molasses. MMMM-mmm. I generally avoid it though, because it's hard to stop eating it and before you know it you've consumed about 100,000 calories worth of taffy.
My favorites are Fralinger's or James' (owned by the same company), classic Atlantic City brands that are available on line.

You all sound fat.

Did you ever go to a taffy pull party? They were big in my parent's day.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 6, 2022 11:22 PM |
Hate salt water taffy.
Love candy corn.
Go figure.

I like taffy when it is flattened and made brittle. I can still remember eating it when we visited Niagara Falls on a family vacation in the late 60s.

I'm generally not a taffy person, but I like the chocolate and licorice taffy from this place on the Wildwood, NJ boardwalk

A coworker brought boxes of it from Rehoboth Beach. Not a lot of flavor, but because it was fresh, it wasn't a crown buster.

No lying. Zeno was a family friend. He died a few years ago—he would send us candy for years from his store. The taffy was good, but the rest of the candy was amazing.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 7, 2022 1:32 AM |
Btw Zeno’s son is really hot and made commercials for Noom.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 7, 2022 1:35 AM |
More sour than salty, really, like you give a fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 7, 2022 1:52 AM |
Only if it’s pure and made the old-fashioned way by pulling.

Is that a euphemism for an orgy with guys who can't get hard?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 7, 2022 1:57 AM |
I prefer soft salt water taffy to the hard taffy that French Canadians make.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 7, 2022 2:28 AM |
American, soft salt water taffy is wonderful. Lost a filling to a Tootsie Roll and that was the last, sticky candy I will eat. No more Bit O Honeys or Sugar Daddies/Babies. Farewell, Charms Blow Pops.

I loved the SWT at a dive in Kenosha, WI called The Brat Stop. I'd buy a bag every time I visited.

One summer we went to Mackinaw Island and had the best fresh taffy. On a health kick, I liked orange and lime.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 7, 2022 4:24 AM |
I really want to order taffy from OP’s link. But there’s so many flavors! Which ones do you guys recommend?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 7, 2022 6:35 PM |
All of them! They are all delicious! I just told them I wanted a five pound bag of everything. They are used to that.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 7, 2022 7:04 PM |
Peanut butter taffy.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 7, 2022 10:14 PM |
I like Shriver's Salt Water Taffy from the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ. The business is even older than most DL bitches (1898).
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 7, 2022 10:42 PM |
R26 … from Dolle’s? We used to get that when I was a kid and my family went to Ocean City, down the beach from Rehoboth, every summer. My mother thought it was superior to Candy Kitchen (the taffy brand most prominently sold then and now in OC). Yes, mama trained me right for a lifetime career as a prisspot.
R35, how can you have salt water taffy on the Great Lakes? Is it called fresh water taffy?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 8, 2022 12:20 AM |
R41 you best brush up on your saltwater taffy history!
