She played a character called Raquel on the English soap 'Coronation Street' which was inspired by the Chrissie character on the American sitcom 'Three's Company'. Lancashire was not stereotyped by the dumb blonde role however and has become an acclaimed character actress in the last decade.

Yes, R9, it is hard at first for we Americans to understand the Northern accent. I have trained my ear after watching Corrie on Britbox for over four years.
Currently, the accents on Corrie seem lighter. I do however often have to listen very closely when Beth or Kirk speaks.
