Currently listening to the Fifth and find it absolutely divine. It is so elegant and smooth, yet bombastic and in your face.

Mahler is a bit overrated though.

Mahler has been my favorite composer since I first heard him in the 1980s. I was already familiar with Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mozart, plus a little Bach and Vivaldi from the movies. Occasionally I would buy Gramophone Magazine at my local classical music store. I noticed Tennstedt's No. 8 and Rattle's No. 2 had recently won Best Orchestral Recording awards, and I made them my next two purchases.
No. 2 has been among my favorites ever since. Nos. 6 and 3 are my other favorites. I like all the rest, but these three are top of the heap. I voted for No. 2 today.

Love the big hammer blows in the fourth movement of the Sixth. There is nothing like seeing it live.

I actually lost my virginity to Mahler's 9th. Weird, I know...

The Sixth. And it's very dramatic at the end with the giant gong.
