This is just embarrassing. Chris Lowe is nearly 70 and still dressing like a teenager. How Madonna.
Pet Shop Boys are a couple of old farts who need to retire
by Anonymous | reply 60 | May 5, 2022 11:39 PM |
Chris Lowe is only 62 and he isn't dressed like a teenager in this video. Either you don't know who Chris Lowe is in the video or you need to get out of your basement more and see how people dress. Maybe both.

Love the song, love the video, love ALL of the people in it.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 4, 2022 11:09 AM |
I have never particularly liked Neil Tennant's tendency to sing everything as if he were yawning, and the PSB's music hasn't been interesting in years, but it is undeniable that this is a catchy song. Still, it's undeniable that their shining moment was in the 80s, and they have been trapped in a pleasantly dull space since 1991.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 4, 2022 11:12 AM |
Why, they resurrected Liza's career in the late 80s. I always loved them. Carry on!
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 4, 2022 11:27 AM |
You round to the nearest number, so he's closer to 60 than 70, stupid cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 4, 2022 11:28 AM |
Speaking of old farts, the community shuttle to Luby's is about to take off, OP. Shouldn't you be in your chair?

What is the purple zone?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 4, 2022 11:35 AM |
I liked the choice of 3 by 4 pillar-boxing the image so it seemed like an 80s video; didn’t like how visually repetitive and narratively static it was - you don’t need all the lonely Elinor Rigbys to be dancing together at the end, but a more varied look at their solitary & disappointing lives would have been more moving.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 4, 2022 12:17 PM |
R3 I agree, the song is catchy but yea... My favourite PSB are till "Very"( I also like some Nightlife) and my very favourite is their imperial phase, but i've noticed that most hardcore PSB don't agree with this view, it seems like they don't consider much their 80s music .
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 4, 2022 12:37 PM |
They look almost conservative. What are you talking about?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 4, 2022 12:44 PM |
The only sin here is a pretty boring song. I wasn't aware musicians had to retire at 50 or some shit.
Neil Tennany btw looks great, btw, if anything older age has suited his looks.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 4, 2022 12:48 PM |
Miss Almond looks pretty terrifying now, sadly. Like Isabella Rossellini after a major car wreck, and then badly surgically reconstructed.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 4, 2022 12:54 PM |
I know Marc Almond was in some serious motorcycle crash in the early 2000's but what has he done to his face??
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 4, 2022 12:57 PM |
I mean...their age doesn't matter. They've never been promoted as anything other than an actual band.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 4, 2022 12:59 PM |
OP, looking at your other posts, I see that you are a combo of mentally retarded, and desperate for attention.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 4, 2022 1:00 PM |
OP, when were you a teen? 1910? When did kids ever look like this??
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 4, 2022 1:04 PM |
R11 Agree, Neil Tennant looks great, a stylish gentleman.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 4, 2022 1:06 PM |
PSBs dress as they always have.
Just like Queen Victoria did.
Fuck off, OP.

They are lovely couple.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 4, 2022 1:16 PM |

It is PATENTLY STUPID AS FUCK to say PSB music hasn't evolved over the decades. Also that's Marc Almond. I have his new album. It was leaked before the release date was pushed ahead. It is..... interesting. The thing with these old stars is, respect. Also Marc uses NO auto-tune and sound people won't know what to make of that.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 4, 2022 1:40 PM |
that was supposed to ready "and YOUNG people won't know what to make of that"
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 4, 2022 1:41 PM |
I just assume that these performers who keep performing beyond expiry date just have to pay the bills, love the money if they all ready have plenty or maybe they just love to perform. I would say a combination of all of the above. I have a feeling that the changing business part of the music industry has made it so that they have to relay more heavily on performing as music sales and streaming don't really provide the income that performing live and merchandise sales does. I would be mortified if I had to get on a stage looking old and haggard after a lifetime of looking sexy and adored.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 4, 2022 1:45 PM |
I am 56 years old and this video seems like it is stuck in a time warp: the sounds, the look, the general vibe just seems so 80's.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 4, 2022 1:46 PM |
Calm down, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 4, 2022 1:47 PM |
R26 PSB and Soft Cell were never sexy and adored. Stupid gash. They are actual musicians who don't have to rely on being just T and A for the stupid unwashed masses. Like you, stupid gash.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 4, 2022 1:48 PM |
Pet Shop Boys NEVER sold themselves as sexy and young. They started kind of old and are not lookers.
Pet Shop Boys have a few genres in which they excel and they did NOT stop innovated after the 80s.
Old PSB, like OLD Grace Jones, and OLD Bowie, blew me over in stage shows they did in their dottage.

What’s the name of that sci-fi movie where everybody has a built in chip in their wristband they all die before the age of 30? Does anyone remember the movie?
Anyway, whenever another thread pops up about someone who dares to be middle aged and alive, that’s what I automatically think of.

by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 5, 2022 1:11 AM |
By all accounts they are terrific live performers. Which is interesting because they were afraid of performing for years.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 5, 2022 1:38 AM |
They were not afraid of performing. For the first few years they were boring and stationary, as they hated all the circus acts of the time. Later on they got more creative/artistic.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 5, 2022 1:41 AM |
I love Pet Shop Boys.

They didn't tour till 1989, after the peak of their chart success, because they were afraid of performing live and wanted interesting artistic tour.

by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 5, 2022 11:59 AM |
R40 I preferred their static performance, not a fan of their circus performances , it almost brought them bankrupt and honestly it never suited them, despite their hundreds of look changes in the 90s people still identify them with their iconic 80s style.

Chris Lowe is at least 30 years too old to still be wearing a Boy cap.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 5, 2022 2:00 PM |
[QUOTE]By all accounts they are terrific live performers.
According a friend of mine, who has insider knowledge, Chris doesn't play anything live any more. He just has farting sounds on his keyboard which he listens to for his own amusement while Neil sings.
I don't know if that's true, he's certainly a more than competent musician, but it makes me smile to think it could be what happens.
And around 1987-1991 Chris was the sexiest man in pop.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 5, 2022 2:05 PM |
R52 It's true, actually as far as i know Chris never played live, never.
"And around 1987-1991 Chris was the sexiest man in pop." He wasn't even the sexiest in PSB
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 5, 2022 2:09 PM |
Chris was sexy for a dwarf but he has a horrible ugly deformed nose like Meryl Streep. The nose drops him down at least 70%.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 5, 2022 2:09 PM |
I just watched that video (trans propaganda), Tennant looks 100% like Klaus Schwab! He should fucking kill himself for looking that atrocious. You could not look like an uglier cunt than Klaus. Fucking puke.

OP, ageism is everywhere already. Don’t add to it.

I think they aged with dignity and class. Tennant aged better.

It suited just fine, considering they are still active and performing after 40 years on stage. Their albums obviously don't sell anymore, so it's all about the touring.
