Emily Blunt and her husband: Sicario, the Quiet Place movies, Jack Ryan, etc.
Non-conservative actors/actresses who star in a number of movies and shows that push conservative ideas/values?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 19, 2022 2:18 PM |
I didn't see the second QP, how is that a conservative idea?

Bradley Cooper(I assume?) and that garbage "American Sniper."

I'm sure there are a few liberals tied to the "God isn't dead" films with the tv Hercules nut job.
I'm to lazy right now to use IMDB.

I feel like I'm the only one who remembers this quote from Emily Blunt: "Women in the industry should stop talking sexism they've experienced." Pre-#MeToo, but damn.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 4, 2022 8:59 AM |
Because, as we all know, acting should never be about playing someone who is nothing like the actor.

Bradley Cooper.

Matt Damon in the Amanda Knox-inspired film Stillwater where he plays an Oklahoma oil field worker. He spent time with oil field workers and claimed something to the effect that he understands why they believe in the politics they do, clearly try to appeal to them at the box office. I think it was around this movie that he put out his "fag" story and his daughter correcting him with her "thesis".

Tylor Schilling in the Atlas Shrugged movie.

R8 It was a treatise, not thesis.

r1, it's that the movie says that a return to traditional values is the only way to survive in the world, plus there's a theory that the whole scenario about being forced into silence is a metaphor for conservative Americans who feel they aren't allowed to say anything for fear of being hunted down and destroyed. There's also a lot of Biblical and survivalist imagery in the movie, obviously.

Jennifer Garner.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 13, 2022 4:48 PM |
Jennifer Garner is non-conservative with her church-going ways?

Usually those right-wing corn-fests will only hire the over-the-hill malcontents who appear on Townhall.tv.
They mostly can't afford an actual star.

Most of the cast of "Dallas"

Jennifer Garner is not conservative because she goes to church (you’d have to say that too of the Hillsong Kardashians!) Jen gave some lovely pro-gay interviews when Love, Simon came out, & Victor Garber is her child’s godfather. I’ve always loved her, she seems so nice & down to earth. She’s from WV, right? So glad she’s outta there!

I feel like 95% of "liberal" celebrities are willing to sign up for anything short of legit racist/anti-LGLTBQ+/Anti-abortion propaganda or political ads endorsing Republicans. I didn't include entertainment for dictators in things they won't sign up for because they'll (bizarrely) do it. ll

In addition to A Quiet Place and the Jack Ryan films, John Krasinski also starred in Michael Bay's Benghazi movie in the lead-up to the 2016 election. He's a rightwinger, no matter what postures he might make suggesting otherwise.

I loved it when Seth Rogan called American Sniper a Nazi propoganda film. Someone had to say it.

I always fondly recall when Trump was making some speech about how horrible the cartel was and some awful thing they'd done... and it turned out to be the plot of Sicario.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 17, 2022 9:44 PM |
R22 my sister, who LOvED Bill & Hillary, saw his idiotic Benghazi movie & refused to vote for her based solely on that! I argued with her that the scene where Hillary got THE phone call about the riot & basically says “Meh” was an invention, to no avail.
We’re in a blue state & her vote wouldn’t have mattered, but I’ll always hold that stupid movie against him. And I give Emily Blunt some side-eye for being passively complicit.

OP, you need to give us a better definition because we're struggling to give you good answers.

I'm not sure they're even above appearing in anti-abortion propaganda.
"Listen to Me (1989)." Some of the people in that are liberal I'm pretty sure.
Then there's that Roe v Wade movie from last year. Steve Guttenberg is not some right-winger. Jamie Kennedy is also in it and claimed he was tricked into starring in a pro-life propaganda movie and he's not even really a liberal.

I’m suspicious of Greg Kinnear and everyone who was in that “Heaven is Real” movie. Kelly Reilly, Thomas Hayden Church, Margo Martindale.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 19, 2022 8:21 AM |
Jamie Kennedy is either dumber than I thought or lying about not knowing it was anti-abortion propaganda.

[quote] I’m suspicious of Greg Kinnear
Dear R28, you need to start up a Twitter Witch-Hunt Hate Campaign to expose your suspicions against this (obviously) guilty man.

Emily Blunt comes from a very conservative family. Her uncle Crispin Blunt is a far right Tory MP.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 19, 2022 8:54 AM |
How are the Quiet Place movies conservative? That's quite a claim.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 19, 2022 9:03 AM |
R24 The plot of Sicario is mostly drawn from famous events of the Mexican Drug War, especially 2012 when the Mexican government attempted a crackdown.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 19, 2022 11:47 AM |
Jamie Kennedy's participation in the Roe v. Wade movie doesn't show he is conservative just a stupid media whore.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 19, 2022 12:52 PM |
R29 Oh he's absolutely fucking lying about not knowing what the movie was about. The title says it all. And he saw the rest of the cast and didn't know what side the movie was going to take? Plus he admits he sat down with the producers who showed him the books and the script and how everything came from those books. He sounds like that "straight" black guy a couple of years ago who tried to have us all believe that he got "tricked" into taking it up the ass in a gay porn movie.
