Sigourney Weaver made a rare appearance at tonight’s Met Gala, with Michael Kors

Love her! I didn’t know they were close friends. He also said he’s born and bred NYC, which made me have a new found love for him.

that is a classy broad, she looks great here.

by Anonymousreply 1May 3, 2022 12:09 AM

Wow. I like these kind of photos because there is only so much makeup can do, and no filters (cough, Madonna, cough).

She looks fantastic.

by Anonymousreply 2May 3, 2022 12:09 AM

Lol the twitter comments to the video stream. She’s knows as the girl from Avatar to young people 😂

Older peoples heads will explode. “She’s from the ALIEN franchise Dumbass Gen Z!”

She’s a delight, and a wonderful example of a star who hasn’t lost her mind or her original face.

I developed a rather unexpected crush on her in the film Dave when I was a teen. Very confusing.

And I remember being pleasantly surprised when she guest-starred in Doc Martin a few years ago, just to get to act alongside her best friend.

She looks beautiful

by Anonymousreply 5May 3, 2022 12:19 AM

72 years old

by Anonymousreply 6May 3, 2022 12:19 AM

This is a woman who is not starving herself or eating herself to death. Who is dressed to flatter herself and hasn't been living in the cosmetic surgeon's office.

by Anonymousreply 7May 3, 2022 12:23 AM

Sigourney looks amazing. What a stunning look. Stylish, modern but age-appropriate. This is how I had hoped Madonna would have aged.

by Anonymousreply 8May 3, 2022 12:30 AM

Idk why anyone thought Madonna would age gracefully. She’s NEVER been graceful.

by Anonymousreply 9May 3, 2022 12:31 AM

Well, she is 72, there is no way she looks this good without some procedures.

This is an example of the Jane Fonda approach though. Small procedures over the years rather than drastic makeovers and she is smart to not touch the lips. Nothing screams plastic surgery more than giant, plump lips on a 60+ year old.

by Anonymousreply 10May 3, 2022 12:34 AM

I don't think there's anything wrong with using surgery or injection to enhance slash maintain your looks. But many of these people are looking worse than ever after being botched

by Anonymousreply 11May 3, 2022 12:42 AM

I wonder who he's wearing.

by Anonymousreply 12May 3, 2022 12:43 AM

She always looks good. Though her projects (and by extension, her performances) ceased being interesting decades ago.

by Anonymousreply 13May 3, 2022 3:01 AM

Wow. She looks great.

by Anonymousreply 14May 3, 2022 3:05 AM

She looks awesome for 70+

by Anonymousreply 15May 3, 2022 3:08 AM

“OMG, I’m OP who is going to start a thread on everyone who attended the Met Gala this evening.”

There are over 400 responses on the original thread. You’ll be up all night, asshat.

by Anonymousreply 16May 3, 2022 3:16 AM

Sue (Sigourney) looks great. She has made interesting choices in her career -- from the Alien franchise to Ghost Busters to Death of the Maiden. Always something interesting.

by Anonymousreply 17May 3, 2022 4:26 AM

Fonda's approach worked well until a few years ago, when she should have stopped but didn't.

by Anonymousreply 18May 3, 2022 4:29 AM

If anybody wishes to know how an adult female celebrity ought to dress for an evening gala that is so high profile unless you're in white tie don't even THINK of clicking on the pics, she's your girl. Sigourney, you are a diamond in a sea of anorexic botox radioactive fuckery.

by Anonymousreply 19May 3, 2022 4:30 AM

Absolute nonsense R10. You obviously haven't been around older people very much.

My aunt was 97 when she died. Looked maybe 75, and the only makeup she wore was lipstick on rare occasions.

There are plenty of people who look great in their seventies and eighties. Weaver does, but a lot of that is her good bone structure, and the fact as others have stated, that she hasn't RUINED her looks with unnecessary fillers and facelifts.

If she had been a Datalounger, she would have sworn her friends told her she looked 27.

A movie queen and her gay. How very 2015.

I love Sigourney, and agree that she looked great. But on the arm of Kors? Ew.

by Anonymousreply 25May 3, 2022 9:30 AM

She looks amazing, classy, elegant - love her. An icon.

by Anonymousreply 26May 3, 2022 10:23 AM

R11 you do realise you can type / rather than 'slash' don't you? I thought that was super weird, just saying.

by Anonymousreply 27May 3, 2022 10:24 AM

Her hair is a little flat but her dress is spectacular. Is she wearing Michael Kors?

Also, she was one of the few people on that red carpet who had a human expression on her face and a personality behind the eyes.

by Anonymousreply 28May 3, 2022 10:36 AM

Shigourney.

by Anonymousreply 29May 3, 2022 10:39 AM

She'sh Shigourney now, but she wash chrishtened "Shushan"!

by Anonymousreply 30May 3, 2022 6:41 PM

I normally have something bitchy to say about actresses but she's such an ideal of an aging famous women that I can't. She's smart, educated, articulate, classy, and confident.

by Anonymousreply 31May 3, 2022 7:23 PM

R10 Jane Fonda looks like she's made of wax. I doubt Sigourney has gotten as much, or honestly any work done. Some people, if they take care of themselves age very well. Sigourney's always seemed healthy.

by Anonymousreply 32May 3, 2022 7:31 PM

The classiest couple there.

by Anonymousreply 33May 3, 2022 7:33 PM

MK looks tan.

by Anonymousreply 34May 3, 2022 8:58 PM

So Sigourney was escorting Alien to the Gala? Was she promoting a new sequel?

by Anonymousreply 35May 3, 2022 9:02 PM

Why does this woman infect so many threads? Just fuse her with the cast of the golden girls, whichever ones are still alive. They can remake Alien, but this time, with savage one-liners, and Aliens who spend time in Florida, sipping mixed drinks.

by Anonymousreply 36May 3, 2022 9:08 PM

Been there, done that.

by Anonymousreply 37May 3, 2022 9:54 PM

Sally Field also looks GREAT for 75. Another smart woman who didn't go for fillers. Here she is at 72...

She looks fabulous and that dress is perfection.

by Anonymousreply 39May 7, 2022 10:24 PM

"Lol the twitter comments to the video stream. She’s know[n] as the girl from Avatar to young people"

I think that's cool though. That she's been around long enough and been in big enough films over time that a different generation has an entirely different reference point.

by Anonymousreply 40May 7, 2022 10:34 PM

She's wearing a dress made from whale meat hauled out of a pool?

Ugliest color ever, made worse by having it next to the "slept-in-and-I'm-too-fat" outfit on Kors.

by Anonymousreply 41May 7, 2022 10:43 PM

She looks great!

He looks like an old pumpkin.

[Quote] People expect me to behave in a grand manner, but it’s not like I’m John Travolta.

Is John Travolta known for being grand?

by Anonymousreply 43May 7, 2022 10:58 PM

That movie she made 'Death and the Maiden' really stuck with me, she was excellent in that. She can do comedy and drama.

by Anonymousreply 44May 8, 2022 2:03 AM

I enjoyed her in "Heartbreakers." I can't remember much about it besides Sig.

by Anonymousreply 45May 8, 2022 2:04 AM

Death and the Maiden is excellent:

I love when her husband asks "But what if it's NOT him?" and she answers "then he's really fucked." [or something like that.]

by Anonymousreply 46May 8, 2022 2:06 AM

She was also fun in Cedar Rapids playing Ed Helms' older lover who just tolerates him.

by Anonymousreply 47May 8, 2022 2:30 AM

She looks good, but I'd say she's had an upper eye lift, face lift (mid-face), definitely cheek implants, and a chin implant as well.

by Anonymousreply 48May 8, 2022 2:36 AM

She is a handsome woman, but after seeing a pic of her at the Met gala I thought to myself, "wow, she's had some work done". You queens certainly make exceptions for the ones you like (oh not Sigourney).

by Anonymousreply 49May 8, 2022 3:18 PM

You plastic surgery queens are so weird. It reminds me of those weirdos a few years ago insisting Liz Taylor had a nose job at 12 year olds.

by Anonymousreply 50May 8, 2022 3:20 PM

On second glance, R49, I do believe you're at least partially correct.

She didn't go overboard, though, and I still love her to death.

by Anonymousreply 51May 8, 2022 3:30 PM

And Michael Kors' sunglasses? Guess that's one way to cover droopy eyes. He looks like an idiot.

by Anonymousreply 52May 8, 2022 4:01 PM

J”adore Sigourney. She’s very talented , absolutely underrated as an actress, and still looks great. There’s not one movie with her that I don’t enjoy watching.

by Anonymousreply 53May 8, 2022 4:05 PM

She's always had exquisite bone structure and just exudes class even when coming off incredibly comedic. Just lovely altogether.
