What's your TV consumption like these days?
Streaming certainly has changed my viewing habits. I'm with Netflix and SlingTV. I have AMZ prime but rarely use it. Free streaming services with ads seem to be all the rage, but I cannot do commercials anymore. That seems to be the greatest benefit of streaming services. No commercials.
Not a fan of the fracture of the streaming landscape. It almost feels like every show I want to watch is only available on the one service/app that I haven't signed up to yet.

I have Britbox and Amazon Prime so I watch Eastenders on one, and keep up-to-date with British detective dramas using both. I guess I am partial to police dramas. I watched Blackish on and off but it got a bit preachy toward the end.
I used to watch MSNBC religiously but it's unbearable now. CNN very occasionally.

The only thing I watch on regular network these days are 30 Rock, Frasier and maybe another sitcom or two in syndication, plus I'll watch some shows on HGTV (HHI, for example) if there's an episode in an interesting locale. And, every once in a while, a sporting event such as tennis coverage. Oh, and Better Call Saul on AMC. Everything else is streaming: Netflix, Amazon Prime, SundanceNow, Britbox, Acorn, Topic, MHz, Apple TV+, and CraveTV (in canada, they carry HBO+ and Starz)

We watch a lot of stuff on YouTube, and have a handful of shows we watch on Hulu (the no commercials version). We have Paramount Plus without commercials, supposedly, but they still make you watch a commercial for their own shows before playing.
I had Netflix for a while but canceled because there isn't anything worth the price. We have Amazon Prime but never watch it except for the occasional movie. I had Criterion for three years and maybe watched five movies that entire time, so I canceled it, too.

Hbo Max, Pluto TV & an antenna. On Pluto I'm hooked on the Cops channel. Hbo max has a lot of things to watch. The Middle, Friends, Doom Patrol, Big Bang Theory, The Flight Attendant and a ton of movies not to mention The Sopranos and Six Feet Under. Them two shows I'll put on a random episode and just have it as comfort TV. Canceled Netflix, Hulu and Disney +. Just nothing to watch on them. I do miss The Rookie and Bobs Burgers on Hulu but, oh well. Not worth $120 a year.

The only time I see commercials anymore is during sporting events. Was painful watching CNN during the beginning of the Ukraine invasion because of all the commercials, mostly for pharma products. At least during basketball/baseball/football the ads are mostly for cars and beer.
We have Netflix, Amazon (more for free two-day delivery, but still), HBO Max, Hulu, Discovery+ and AppleTV+, all ad-free.
May get Peaock and Paramount+ if there's something on there we want to watch.
Also the PBS/Masterpiece add-on via Amazon
Right now I am watching a lot of Apple and HBO, though that might change in a few months depending on what is on

I find most stuff unwatchable: it needs to be absolutely knife sharp, unpredictable, and astringent.
Best things I have seen in recent memory were: This Is Going To Hurt with Ben Whishaw (BBC 6 parter), Mr Inbetween (brilliant 3 series Oz crim drama); Succession; and I Care A Lot. They all share those values. Rewatched Mr Robot and was impressed anew by its tone, cinematography, sound, and acting. The pilot is surely one of the best in the history of television.

An antenna, HBO Max (because they keep extending their discount price, but we'll cancel as soon as it ends), Apple+ (because it's extremely cheap), and the Criterion Channel. We hardly use any of them.. A couple of times a year, if I'm lucky, there'll be a show that I want to watch. Right now I'm watching "Slow Horses" on Apple+. Once that ends, we might move on to "Tokyo Vice" on HBO. We watch one show at a time, a couple of episodes per week.

I have Netflix, HBOMax, Amazon Prime (including the Masterpiece and Dekko channels), Hulu, Mubi, Apple+ (including ScreenPix).
I'm in my 50s and my tastes have pretty much solidified into: classic films and acclaimed current films; for TV series, which requires a greater investment of time, I'm only interested if its historical and/or features gay characters (but not TQ+).
As a result, I rarely ever watch Netflix, which has hardly any classic films and none of the TV shows there appeal to me; with HBOMax, I binged the original British Ghosts and devoured/hate watched The Gilded Age, otherwise I just check it monthly to see what new/classic movies they've added; I did watch Reacher on Amazon Prime recently, but that was because a relative was staying with me and wanted to watch it -- it was better than I expected it to be. The Masterpiece app is great for foreign shows -- I've really enjoyed Seaside Hotel and Vienna Blood. The selection on Dekko -- a gay movie app -- is iffy, but I've found a few good movies there. Hulu has some good recent movies and classic shows like Mary Tyler Moore when I need comfort. Mubi is mostly art-house movies, so that depends on my mood. ScreenPix is my current favorite -- its cheap and has a ton of classic B movies and the occasional genuine classic (The Garden of Finzi-Continis, Marat/Sade).

For me the choices are cheap enough that there's no point to giving it any thought, or to bother with cancelling/renewing. I do use all the services I have and there are certainly others I didn't elect to take. I can't complain about the price; in the U.S. I paid in a.month about what I now pay in a year.
I watch a few documentaries on YouTube, but it's not a favorite viewing format; and I use JustWatch to get alerts for when something I want to see becomes available.
Netflix €72 ("forever" rates on this and HBO Max)
HBO Max €36
Amazon Prime €30
FilmIn €24
+ 40-something broadcast channels free via antenna but duplicated with extra cable type channels for movies, etc. = negligible cost as part of a 2 unlimited mobile + 2GB internet + basic tv package for <€60/month)
€162 annual / €13.50/mo ($14.50/mo)

Minimal. I have cable, where I DVR episodes of Gunsmoke and Bonanza from MeTV; I never paid these any mind growing up, but now I find them entertaining... well, most of them. I watch the liberal block on MSNBC in the evenings (Reid, Hayes, Maddow, and O'Donnell), provided I can be arsed to be in front of the television on time to see them. Rachel is the one I don't like to miss. On weekends I DVR Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and watch it with my best friend on one of his visits.
I don't stream.

If you use monthly contracts instead of annual, and you don't mind five minutes' extra work a month, you can just flip in and out of the streaming services you want, when you want them. Even after you cancel them you still get the full month you've paid for.
I have a favorite service which I keep, and then I just pick and choose which of the others I want to engage with this month. You stay with one till you've exhausted it or a show on something else appeals more, then cancel and pick up another one. Keeps the costs low and you miss out on nothing. It can be a salutary shock to come back to a service after several months and find how little has changed.

I have apps on my Roku firestick that allow me to watch every movie, tv show and miniseries for free. No bugs, no problems, the apps automatically update themselves. Used to stream on my PC, then once I got my Roku firestick, I downloaded apps onto it and don't pay for anything. It's great. The only thing I pay for are premium torrent links which are better quality and don't freeze up. I pay 14 euro for a six months subscription. As for cable, I use the Hydrogen TV app which I pay S12 a month for. I get 550 channels from all over the world.
I pay absolutely nothing for my entertainment needs.

It's not just DLers, I've been noticing it in real life and other social media as well, but DL can get pretty thick with it sometimes. Any food, diet, or budget thread has multiple people posting "With proper meal planning and by sticking to a budget, I can prepare quick, easy, and healthful meals in just minutes!" and it always sounds so off-putting.

I forgot to mention way up in R-number-something -or-other that I also pay for PBS streaming. We watch Nova and Nature mostly, not that often these days (after years of not talking about climate change at all, probably thanks to being sponsored by a Koch brother of some sort, now that's ALL they talk about) but it's nice to have it when we want something different.
I should watch more of their documentaries, but I always forget. There was a Flannery O'Connor one I wanted to see that came out probably a year ago now. Can I crosspost this to the thread about scatterbrains?

Minimal here as well. I record Y&R and B&B and watch them later in the afternoon. The only network shows I watched this season were The Connors and B Positive. I enjoyed Press Your Luck with Elizabeth Banks last summer and hope it comes back this summer. Sometimes I will watch an episode of MotorWeek or America's Test Kitchen if I'm interested in the subject. Occasionally I watch reruns on TVLand, AntennaTV, and meTV, although the commercials are enraging. I have basic cable and used to enjoy TCM, but since they moved it to an extra-cost sports package, I no longer get it. I'm thinking of going over the air but need to test the reception first. Embarrassed to say I watch a lot of TV. Old, new, documentaries, nature stuff, pretty much everything. Unfortunately, my cable company has a monopoly where I live so I'm stuck with the (Altice One). People who live on the other side of a local highway are able to get Verizon.
I'm stuck with the "triple play," phone, internet, and cable. I have 3 TVs so I have 2 cable boxes (that I rent) and one Apple TV which will is mine. It sucks that they give me ACCESS to HBOMax but not the channel itself. Seriously considering getting rid of HBO and Starz (I don't even watch it) and just going with monthly subscriptions. I stopped watching Outlander, plus it's available on NetFlix. Once Power ended, there was no need to watch Starz.
I make a good living so I can afford the high price but will consider dropping my cable bill a lot in the next few years.
