Googling for gossip about Taron Egerton in 2014. I miss the old Troll-dar function DL had.

For one of the gossip newsgroups on Usenet, circa the turn of the century.

I saw a discussion about it on the old alt.showbiz.gossip newsgroup back in 2002. It was a much different site then.

A porn inquiry led me to it. I think I searched up "Hottest asses in gay porn" or something along that about 3 or 4 years ago and it led me to DL.

It was quoted at the gay website “night charm”. I went and was instantly hooked

Did a search for Broadway gossip back in the aughts. I was lurker for years. Became a regular poster around 2014.

When my name was favorably mentioned in a thread about people working on Broadway who are beloved (following a thread about people who are hated). I think this was around 2003/2004 .

It was 2012 and I was smoking weed and decided I wanted to read old gossip about daytime soaps. The older and more obscure, the better. I think I stumbled into a P&G thread and I've never left.

Pretty sure my keywords involved 'Another World soap opera gossip behind the scenes.'

When I was looking for gossip about Colin Morgan and Bradley James after watching Merlin.

Several years ago I googled the name of an old rock star and DL was the only site that had gossip on him. All other sites were reporting on reality stars. I stayed for the humor, compassion, and range of topics.

Looking around the internet for stuff about Monty Clift and I fell , hanging onto his abundant chest hair as I entered the abyss, never to climb out again….

I was doing Web searches (I can't remember for what). I'd sporadically get DL hits. At first, I was clutching my pearls at some of the posts on the threads. I'd read a particular thread (that popped up on my search), but wasn't interested in DL's other threads.

As time went on, I kept getting DL hits on different searches and grew to like DL.

Yes, DL is a mixed bag, but IMO, DL has the most intelligent, knowledgeable, well-rounded posters that I've come across.

I've had a blog for years and DL started to link to a few of my posts - I came for a visit and fell down the rabbit hole.

I first stumbled here around 2005. Didn't start regularly posting til around 2009-2010.

For the longtime lurkers: why wait so long to post on an anonymous website? I lurked for a while and it does take me a long time to start posting on websites that I like, so I understand why people lurk.

The thread on Sumerian Housewives drew me in and, like mold, you can’t get rid of me.

A Google search on Andrea Yates led me here. Followed swiftly by all the 9/11 threads. (2001 really was a shitty year.) 20+ years later I'm still coming to DL on a daily basis.

Michael Musto mentioned Datalounge in one of his columns approaching 20 years ago, and the rest is history for me. My biggest claim to Datalounge fame was starting the original "Footballers in Love" thread. Thank you. Thank you very much.

R17 again.....I think it was my blog BUT it might have also been Dlisted. Michael K linked to a lot of DL in those days, and I was always surfing DListed and the Fug Girls.

I discovered DL in early 2015. I was reading some gossip about Michael Pitt and JGL (the scared straight blind item) on the imdb message board and was quite suprised because back then I thought both of them were straight, so i did some Google research and have been here ever since.

Fearing a lawsuit, I admit not.

I was making a joke which didn't land, it seems.

A Miyoshi Umeki thread that someone with a fan page linked to. The fan page included a comment like "there are a few crazies that you have to ignore," which I found out was true after my first comment on the thread (and the board) resulted in someone shrieking at me for calling DL a "blog," which I didn't even do.

Eventually I realized I'd been on DL many years prior, probably after hearing about it on a.g.s. and a.g.c. where I had been a regular. It had changed so much I didn't realize it was the same website.

I was Googling for gossip about Tom Selleck being gay and his possible exploits in Hawaii, and found this place!

9/11/01

One of the theater sites mentioned that DL had a thread with constant updates. Since it was an all text site, it was loading much more reliably than other places.

Been here ever since.
