I remember when Obama let O'Reilly interview him. Obama wore this expression of weary bemusement like he knew the whole thing was a joke. Bill said "a lot of people believe....." followed by some stupid forgettable lie. Obama said "well they believe it because that's what YOU tell them, Bill".

I worked for an airline back in the 90s, and customer abuse of the workers was obscene back then; I quit shortly before 9/11, so given all that's happened in the past two decades, it must be far, far worse now. So glad I'm out of that field.

O’Reilly was probably stressed and that poor airline rep came across him at the wrong time. Anybody who ever worked in customer service can feel for the employee. Assholes love raging on little people with name tags who won’t respond in kind for fear of losing their jobs.

I don’t know if he was necessarily “trained” for it, the way workplaces are today. There’s a lot less training and a lot more “You’re hired” followed by immediately being thrown to the wolves.
