I started watching the new show and the way she holds her mouth and speaks and the badly drawn eyebrows are YIKES! Michelle is going to be pissed when she sees this.

I knew the still photos released earlier didn't look good, but this is awful. Those eyebrows, the stupid way she holds her mouth, it's grotesque.

I thought these First Lady portrayals were supposed to be flattering?

So glad this series is being meet with such disdain.

(OK I find it hard to hide my hatred of Michelle Pfieffer, but feel sorry for Viola & Gillian being caught up in such garbage).

Michelle Pfeiffer was playing a Midwestern cartoon character. None of the three leads "killed it" but Pfeiffer was the least shitty. Gillian Anderson does the worst "acting" and Viola is the one who looks and sounds the least like the person she's meant to be playing.

Disagree about Pfeiffer, R32. I thought she was great. Cool that you don't feel the same way.

The eyebrows and the constant pursed lips are absurd. Who lied to her and told her this was a great approach? Did she not take a look at the footage that was shot after the first scene? Michelle tenses her lips but the Viola overblew it and made herself into a living caricature of the Michelle.
