The second half to season 7 finally has a trailer, and I can’t wait. I loved this show. I will be sad to see it go.

Did Jane miss Lionel Shriver's Sombrero-gate?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | April 18, 2022 2:53 AM |
Anyone watched ?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | April 30, 2022 7:27 PM |
That really looks stupid.

I have to say, I've loved almost all eras of this series, including the first four of this last season, but this first return episode (officially #5 of the season) was really, really dumb.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | April 30, 2022 7:53 PM |
(PS don't go online if you are watching them one show at a time, it's already been spoiled on a lot of major news sites. I saw two paragraphs on TVLine and stopped reading.)

I found season 1 to be a chore to watch but starting with 2 it was great.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | April 30, 2022 7:59 PM |
I’ve never seen this show but from the promos it always looks absurd. It looks like just a series of “quirky” and “wacky” scenes of Jane Fonda wearing over dressed and tightly fitted outfits, caked in inches of makeup and just more or less standing there for the camera. Lilly Tomlin seems to be doing all the work. I’ll continue to hard pass. Fonda seems like she’d be a real gash in person.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | April 30, 2022 8:00 PM |
I'm glad it's ending. The show really has lost its edge and you can predict the storylines and jokes from a mile away.
I knew Grace's husband would fuck up their meeting, knew someone would interrupt the proposal or that the in-laws would eventually see Brianna's vagina pics. It's o predictable and neither fresh or surprising.
Also Jane Fonda looks really old and like a skeleton this season. She always looked great for her age, but Tomlin looks much healthier now.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | April 30, 2022 8:02 PM |
Jane Fonda got four procedures to many. I still think she's foxy and her speaking voice is one in a million.
I liked this show well enough but never watched the whole thing, I save my binging for "The Crown" in regard to Netflix. I've seen the first couple of seasons and have skipped around some with the others.
Lily is truly a natural born comedian. Her work has stood the test of time and she's been in a lovingly devoted relationship for ages. She's cute to me.
The fellows in this area quite alright. They obviously aren't homophobic in the least and work well together.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | April 30, 2022 8:07 PM |
Finished it yesterday. Some noticeable adding in of characters using green screen noticeable in the last two episodes.
I do not care about Robert and Sol and the lengths the show goes to to NOT show any intimacy between the boys is laughable. I bet it's Sheen that has it in his contract.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 2, 2022 6:41 AM |
Just watched this trailer but never watched the show. What attracts fraus and gays to these types of shows exactly? The enduring friendships? The wacky antics? The clothing?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 2, 2022 6:53 AM |
The last episodes aren’t great. I’m glad it’s over and I’m glad I saw it through. Jane’s choice to stop coloring her hair halfway through this season didn’t fit at all with the character. There’s a cameo in the last episode you don’t want to miss, but the storyline is weak.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 2, 2022 7:32 AM |
R11 I think on paper it can hit similar notes of "taking on aging and the world with the help of our family of choice" that was one of the main threads of The Golden Girls that made it unique and appreciated at the time, but there's something about the type of comedy in G&F that is mostly too absurd to blend seamlessly into more poignant/tender moments.

I hate that cutesy Martin Sheen Sam Waterston couple... Martin's dentures... Sam's animatronic brows and scrunchy shoulders.

I just finished the show last night and it seems that most characters did not get a happy ending.
Brianna ends up alone, jobless and humiliated by her former high school/investment friend. Lost her company and her bf is obviously over her antics and doesn't give a fuck about her anymore. Did she sell the company and can afford to start a new business? I don't remember.
Mallory is a single mother and fired by her new boss for incompetence. What are her perspectives? No partner, no career, but she still got her child support payments from her doctor husband so she won't end up homeless.
Bud is suddenly unhappy with his job and wants to start a new career as a stand up comedian although he was actually the most boring and humorless character on the show (but very reliable). Do you just quit your job when you actually own the law firm?
Sol first noticed that Robert had early symptoms of dementia when the season started. 3 months later he apparently already has full blown dementia. I guess their happy retirement is over now and Robert is already a nursing case.
Grace and Frankie are pretty much the same although I really thought Grace would drop dead any minute the way she was popping pills and martinis/vodka. Frankie is just annoying and I'm over her antics. Did they even care that Robert has dementia?
Coyote is probably the only character with a somewhat happy ending. Hope he stays sober with that crazy mother trying to constantly ruin his life.

Grace and Frankie got a happy ending. They are together. Although a kiss would have been nice.....
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 2, 2022 4:25 PM |
They aren’t into each other LIKE THAT

R9- I ALWAYS thought that guy from Law And Order was GAY.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 2, 2022 7:08 PM |
I do not know any straight women who would leave their husbands just to be with another woman.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 2, 2022 7:57 PM |
I’ve only watched this because of Fonda and Tomlin. It’s a nice gig for Jane but they couldn’t find an interesting character Tomlin to play. Sheen and Waterston both gave annoying performances. They weren’t convincing at all though Waterston made an attempt. June Diane Raphael was the only standout for me. It might’ve been a better show if it had been recast with younger (middle aged) characters. There would have been a sexual element. Seeing these 80 year olds get it on was hard to watch. I wonder if that was the original plot but changed it up when Fonda or Tomlin showed an interest.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 4, 2022 12:10 AM |
The younger thing has been done to death. Them being in their 80s made it unique.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 4, 2022 12:12 AM |
I screamed like the MARY! I am at the cameo.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 4, 2022 12:14 AM |
The timeline on Grace&Frankie doesn't really match though. The characters are all in their 80s, but their children are late 30s or early 40s. So they all started having kids/adopting when they were already in their 40s? Pretty unrealistic for that age group. They wanted characters in their 80s but no 50+yo children.
I'm surprised Brooklyn Decker was considered a bombshell, model or whatever in the late 00s. She is one bland woman and sported the ugliest hairstyle in that penultimate episode with that giant bun on her head.
Brianna should not wear daisy dukes. Yikes.
Did you guys notice that Bud and Barry got really fat this season?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 4, 2022 6:10 AM |
Barry was huuuge and they didn’t even attempt to hide it. At least they tried with Bud in black cardigans all the time.
At least Coyote still had his pumped up arms. Swear he must be doing reps before jumping in front of the camera
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 4, 2022 8:18 PM |
I like how Barry's lips move when he speaks. Its cute. Wearing those tight pants as a blossoming fatty reminds me of, well, me. Coyote is hot. I had arms like his once. Bud is cute too with his burgeoning belly.
No, i don't want to see any of them naked, except Coyote.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 5, 2022 5:42 AM |
I have 2 episodes left for tomorrow, but just had to comment that I thought that couldn’t possibly be Martin Mull, yet it was! He looked great for his age, 78, his forehead was shockingly wrinkle-free, not sure if it’s a facelift or Botox or both.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 6, 2022 6:46 AM |
So. Its gay to like Ed Sheeran? I'm hearing that in the episode with Mallory and her bf who punched the short rib. So?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 7, 2022 9:46 AM |
Lily Thomlin - fancy hiding in a closet for over 70 fucking years.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 7, 2022 9:54 AM |
Why were Lily Tomlin's sons both white in the opening credits?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 14, 2022 9:58 PM |
This last season was tedious.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 14, 2022 9:59 PM |
There was so much they could have and should have done with a Dolly cameo.
I hate when they waste opportunities like that.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 14, 2022 10:02 PM |
Dolly has forgotten how to act and looks frail. Also, there's something wrong with the lighting in this last season, you can see everyone's pancake makeup more than usual, it's really, really obvious. I hate Bud and Brianna. Barry is fat and ugly. Joan Margaret is just a joke and has no reason for being there, The same old jokes are rehashed over and over. It just gets silly.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 14, 2022 10:23 PM |
Barry may be fat, but he's a decent human being. Brianna did not have a single friend and probably has to pay for sex again.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 14, 2022 10:36 PM |
The writing on this show was ALWAYS terrible, but I watched because of the chemistry between the four leads. I stopped watching the season Jane got with Peter Gallagher, it was just tedious at that point.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 14, 2022 10:44 PM |
Yeah, doesn't happen in real life and Grace even was the love of his life. Lol. Try to find a date with a decent looking man when you're over 40. But in Hollywood's fantasy world a good looking billionaire is obviously head over heels in love with a 80yo granny.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 14, 2022 10:49 PM |
Jane Fonda's face is distracting. Too much plastic surgery. Evebmn Tomlin's face is odd, but I'm used to it.

Rich people's problems.

You didn't like Gallagher's character going on about how amazing their geriatric sex was ?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 15, 2022 10:53 AM |
Binging up to season 5 and the plastic surgery effect on Grace was brilliant and funny. Fonda really pulled it off.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 16, 2022 3:19 AM |
The last few episodes were solid and the ending made me cry (and I also screamed like a MARY! at the cameo).
But yeah, it was starting to repeat itself. So it didn't quite go out on top, but it was time to go. I really liked the show, although it's always been more of the "cringe" comedy style than I would have liked.
I need to see Coyote's furry cock and ass.

What show did you watched. They were always kissing and holding hands and sitting real close. So much more intimacy between them than most shows.
[quote]The characters are all in their 80s, but their children are late 30s or early 40s.
No, they are all middle 70's but then Grace admitted she lied about her age and was 80.

Lily Tomlin's wig might be the best wig ever on TV and it flattered her so.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 20, 2022 10:41 PM |
I believe Tomlin wore a Merkin when she was demonstrating the yam jam in Season 3.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 20, 2022 11:31 PM |
This show was such a huge wasted opportunity. It had a good cast and a nice enough premise, but it never went beyond vaguely entertaining mediocrity. It always seemed like a would-be classy drama trapped in the body of a third rate sitcom. Imagine how good this could be if it had a similar style of Thirtysomething and Once and Again.
And Frankie is unbearable. Such a self-absorbed person, who always wants to be under the spotlight, while screwing up everyone else. She and Grace have a quite toxic and codependent relationship.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 25, 2022 1:03 AM |
And I thought Tomlin stole every frame. Nothing she ever did was on this level.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 25, 2022 1:05 AM |
The reveal that Grace was of Hungarian descent was a surprise. She reads as the quintessential California WASP.

E! is running Seasons 1 and 2 this weekend and I love it so much I'm going to subscribe to Netflix so I can watch the entire series. I especially love Sam Waterston who looks like he's having a blast.
