Riiiiiight.

(wink wink)

Did she recently turn down a proposal for marriage?

by Anonymousreply 2April 16, 2022 11:28 AM

There's no such thing as a TikTok personality.

by Anonymousreply 3April 16, 2022 11:31 AM

From the Daily Mail:

"A TikTok star who was the victim of a terrifying acid attack has broken her silence as police hunt her masked attackers, saying she does not want them charged.

Jenny Elhassan, 32, was recording a livestream outside the Old Town Hong Kong restaurant in Sydney's Chinatown, when she was hit in the eye with acid and left with facial burns after 11pm on Friday.

The young mother admitted she knows the identity of at least one of her attackers but didn't want to name them."

Pretty sure that's the MAGA Country of Sydney. She should have been more careful.

I thought that part of Dixon Street was closed off to cars. There is the lower Dixon that has Chinatown, which runs into Paddy’s Market (and is pedestrian-focused traffic). . And then there is the upper Dixon which has the newer strip of Asian restaurants (which I thought was also pedestrian-focused traffic).

Anyway, I’m glad it’s not random.

by Anonymousreply 7April 16, 2022 11:46 AM

Sounds reasonable to me.

by Anonymousreply 8April 16, 2022 11:48 AM

Well, if it makes anyone rethink the value of livestreaming...

by Anonymousreply 9April 16, 2022 11:50 AM

This sort of crime is very rarely random. It's usually culturally based and is done by rejected suitors or family members who want to punish transgressing women.

by Anonymousreply 10April 16, 2022 11:52 AM

r10 she's gone after several men on tiktok for promoting (religious) violence against women.

by Anonymousreply 11April 16, 2022 11:55 AM

her sister also has videos about another personality that stole around 4k in bitcoins from them.

and there's many, many, many other dramas on there... seems like the police might have their work cut out for them.

also possible it wasn't anyone local... women from some cultures are targeted around the world, especially when they have social power and tend to be outspoken. Even more so when they show themselves living the life.. doesn't have to be political.

by Anonymousreply 12April 16, 2022 12:01 PM

Male violence.

by Anonymousreply 13April 16, 2022 12:02 PM

What could possibly bring you to that conclusion?

Do you think people in Sydney's 'Chinatown' want to Make Australia Great Again ? ? ? ?

[quote] “.... And insofar as we don’t know exactly what the acid is at this stage, other than it is acidic,” he said.

I see they brought in the A Team to solve this crime.

R15 It could be Hydrochloric acid, ordinary chloric acid, hydrobromic acid, hydroiodic acid, nitric acid, perchloric acid, and sulfuric acid.

It's very unfair but you don't piss certain people off, unless you're willing to go into hiding,

Oops. The photo was already in OP's post.

Certainly not the Alamaddines. If you smite them, they will take out your whole family.

by Anonymousreply 21April 17, 2022 7:22 AM

Can we do this to more TikTok personalities?
