I FUCKING HATE THE INFINITI CAR AD!!!!!

I am not familiar with this one, but every single commercial ever made by Infiniti is absolutely terrible.

I hate that commercial, too. The one they ran before it also featured a thin, Caucasian woman in the driver's seat, except that one was using the massage feature.

You will be pleased to hear that they play Infiniti commercials on loop on PlutoTV. I stopped watching it because I couldn't take the Infiniti commercials. I am not even exaggerating.

On the list of things to be annoyed by, annoying though it may be, this has got to rank pretty darn low.

I first saw the real performance of that retarded schoolchildren’s “band” performance here on DL. It was one of those “Worst Performances Ever!” Threads. That’s also where I first heard “Lady Bump” and Miss Lake Dardanelle.

I still laugh everytime I see that ad/band perform. It reminds me of a friend I knew in college. I was a year ahead of her, but stayed to teach at the school, so I was there for when she graduated. Her class had nominated her to sing the national anthem at the graduation ceremony.

One night, she performed it for me and another friend. It was… awful. Tone deaf. Flat. Sharp. Pitchy. And it left me speechless. When she finished, she asked us what we thought. We tried to be kind but not sugar coat things and finished our critique with “if you hit a rough spot, just sing louder.” And boy did she ever!!

The icing of the cake to make the ad worse would be to hear that horrid "Living Spaces" jingle at the end. That's got to be the flattest, off-key, shriek of a warble attack of four notes that I've heard.

I only ever see that ad on YouTube and you can "skip ad" after a few seconds, so never saw / heard the end.

That ad has to be working against them. It is painful.

I had to look it up, this was my first time seeing this commercial.

This commercial was aspirational, right? So far, there have been 2, somewhat similar commercials featuring affluent, Caucasian women in the driver's seat. (Usually, a commercial for an expensive car would feature a man in the driver's seat and a woman in the passenger's seat.) The saying is: I'd never join a club who would have me as a member (that's an aspirational saying, IMO).

I hate that ad. The petition is a bit precious, but then again it's 2022, isn't it? We must be upset about something every minute of every day.

Infiniti has been around for a long time, now. It's the luxury division of Nissan. IIRC, the Car Talk guys liked Infiniti cars. IMO, they've never been able to do what Lexus (Toyota) did in the car market, or even Honda (Acura).

Actually that's the target demographic. Upward-mobile white women love luxury crossover SUVs. ie, Lexus RS350
