Someone mentioned this in another thread but I thought it deserved its own thread!

Thread-stealer! It was me, bitch!
But yes, Paul's young lover fell off a balcony. It's doubtful he was pushed, but the local police were surprisingly cool about it.

the whole thing has been misunderstood, taken out of context, and blown out of proportion

You thought wrong, OP.

Except Paul Lynde did get his own show. In 1972.
It was called The Paul Lynde Show, and it was intended to be ABC's All in the Family.
And it co-starred a muscle boy.
Shockingly, America didn't buy Paul Lynde as a straight family man, and it was a one-season bomb.

R3, and yet you took the time to respond. Huh. Weird.

R4, I wonder what muscle boy did to get cast on the show...

Everyone who was ever on Hollywood Squares saw Paul's tricks. And believe me, the audience was never aware.

Where's the Paul Lynde biopic?

How sad! Can you imagine the pain that Paul Lynne had to keep inside in order to not be pegged as gay in a very homophobic time?
